Aimee’s Exhilarating Borneo Adventure
Last month, our Borneo specialist, Aimee, enjoyed a wholesome adventure in Borneo, indulging in the myriad attractions that make it such an enticing destination. Not only was the trip personally rewarding, but as our resident specialist of all things orange and green, it provided her with valuable first-hand experience to better tailor trips for our clients, deepen her expertise, and keep her up to speed with all of Borneo’s travel developments – there’s nothing like completing work training in paradise!
“Borneo is a truly special corner of the world, and lives up to its reputation as a bucket list destination. On my visit last month, I was lucky enough to observe orangutans, gibbons, proboscis monkeys, Pygmy elephants, western tarsiers, and rhinocerous hornbills to name just a few of the island’s incredible animals, which just leaves you with a sense of awe and real privilege. I trekked through vast, prehistoric rainforests, floated through the mangroves of the Kinabatangan river, watched the infants play at Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary and spotted flying squirrels swoop between trees on jungle night walks. I ate my way through the night markets of Kota Kinabalu, lounged on the idyllic beaches of Gaya island and planted coral at the marine biology centre, all whilst meeting the most warm, friendly people who are so happy to showcase their beautiful country.”
