Odyssey World’s foundations are firmly set in Arabia as the original founder, Liz lived in both Jordan and Oman. Whilst in Oman she started organising tours and expeditions to explore the interior of the then unknown country which was in the early stages of development for tourism, establishing relationships with local ground operators.
Back in the UK she worked closely with the Oman Embassy and became the first UK Tour Operator to promote holidays to Oman in 1989, before the Oman Tourist Board was set up. Now, 30 years later, we again observe the shifting sands of the red desert as Saudi Arabia moves to become the next progressive and fascinating destination to excite the travel world!
