Sri Lanka Honeymoon

Day 1: Colombo

Arrive in Colombo and meet your private chauffeur-guide at the airport, then transfer to your hotel. Later, head out for an evening city tour in an open-top jeep or Land Rover, taking in the sights and atmosphere of the capital as your first introduction to Sri Lanka. Overnight at Lake Lodge Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo – Sigiriya

After breakfast, travel inland to Sigiriya. Later in the day, enjoy a private game drive in Minneriya National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s best places for elephant sightings, with the chance to see large herds gathering around the reservoir as well as other resident wildlife. Overnight at Kumbukgaha Villa.

Day 3: Sigiriya

After breakfast, climb Sigiriya Rock, the island’s most iconic rock fortress and one of its great archaeological sites. Later, take a village walk to experience rural life in the area, followed by a local lunch. Overnight at Kumbukgaha Villa.

Day 4: Sigiriya – Kandy

Transfer to Kandy by private air-conditioned vehicle. On arrival, enjoy a city tour of Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital, set among green hills and centred on one of the country’s most important religious sites. Overnight at The Radh Hotel.

Day 5: Kandy

After breakfast, take part in a cooking class in Kandy. Later, visit the Temple of the Tooth and witness the puja ritual, followed by a cultural show. Overnight at The Radh Hotel.

Day 6: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, board the train to Nuwara Eliya on one of Sri Lanka’s best-known rail journeys, travelling through tea country and highland scenery. During the day, visit a tea plantation and factory to learn about the production of Ceylon tea and finish with a freshly brewed cup surrounded by the estates. Overnight at Scottish Planter Glendevon Bungalow.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy a city tour of Nuwara Eliya by car, with the timing and duration kept flexible. The rest of the day is at leisure in Sri Lanka’s highland retreat of gardens, cool air and colonial-era character. Overnight at Scottish Planter Glendevon Bungalow.

Day 8: Nuwara Eliya – Yala

After breakfast and check-out, transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Yala. Later, head out on a private evening safari in Yala National Park, known for its varied landscapes and one of the highest leopard densities in the world. Overnight at Koragaha Lodge.

Day 9: Yala

Enjoy a private morning game drive in Yala National Park, then return to your accommodation to relax. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Koragaha Lodge.

Day 10: Yala – Mirissa

After breakfast and check-out, transfer by private air-conditioned vehicle to Mirissa on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. After check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax by the sea. Overnight at Sri Sharavi.

Day 11: Mirissa

Set off early for a shared whale watching excursion from Mirissa, one of the island’s best spots to look for blue whales and dolphins. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Sri Sharavi.

Day 12: Mirissa

Day at leisure to explore the area further or simply relax on the coast. Overnight at Sri Sharavi.

Day 13: Mirissa

Another day at leisure to enjoy the beach, the hotel and the slower pace of the coast. Overnight at Sri Sharavi.

Day 14: Mirissa – Departure
