Transfer to Kuala Lumpur airport for your flight to Borneo.

Sepilok Nature Resort provides convenient access to nearby attractions such as the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, the Sun Bear Conservation Centre, and the Rainforest Discovery Centre, all within walking distance. Day 5: Selingan Turtle Island Chalet

After breakfast, you’ll transfer by boat from Sandakan to Selingan Island, part of Turtle Island Park – a protected sanctuary for endangered green and hawksbill turtles. Selingan offers a rare chance to witness turtles nesting and hatchlings making their way to the sea.

Day 6: Abai

After breakfast, return to the mainland and take a scenic boat ride up the Lower Kinabatangan River to Abai Jungle Lodge, watching for wildlife along the way. After lunch, relax or explore the boardwalk before an afternoon cruise to spot proboscis monkeys, birds, and reptiles, followed by fireflies at dusk. After dinner, join a guided night walk to seek out nocturnal creatures.

After a relaxed morning, cruise to Sukau and check into Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, set along the riverbank and surrounded by vibrant jungle. The lodge offers comfortable chalet-style rooms with en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, and mosquito-netted windows, plus a refreshing pool for afternoon dips. At 4.30pm, set off on a wildlife cruise along the Menanggul River, with chances to spot proboscis monkeys, hornbills, pygmy elephants, and even wild orangutans. Return for dinner and a restful night in the heart of Borneo.

Day 8 & 9: Danum Valley

Depart Sukau early for an overland journey to Lahad Datu, followed by a scenic transfer deep into Danum Valley, arriving at Borneo Rainforest Lodge in time for lunch. This extraordinary conservation area, untouched by human settlement, is one of Borneo’s richest ecosystems, home to rare species including orangutans, gibbons, pygmy elephants, and the elusive clouded leopard. After lunch, venture into the rainforest for your first guided trek and walk the stunning 300-metre canopy walkway, suspended high in the treetops.

Day 10 – 14: Gaya Island

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning in Danum Valley before transferring to Lahad Datu for your short flight to Kota Kinabalu. From there, travel to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal and take a scenic 15-minute speedboat ride to Gaya Island. Your stay at Bungaraya Island Resort begins with five nights of tropical tranquillity, where you can unwind in the infinity pool, snorkel in clear waters, kayak, or explore jungle trails.
