Saudi Arabia Discovery Tour

Day 1: Arrive Jeddah

Direct flights to Jeddah are available from many major hub cities. Navigation through Jeddah International Airport is generally quick, well-signposted and efficient. On arrival in Jeddah, you will be met in the airport by your driver, who will transport you to the hotel.

Day 2: Jeddah City Tour : from the past to the future (B)

After breakfast, meet your guide and driver for a tour of the historic and cosmopolitan sights of Jeddah. Visit the Al Tayebat Museum and Angawi House, home of renowned Jeddah architect Dr Sami Angawi. This beautiful and intimate tour is a memorable and unique encounter not to be missed.
Tour the historic centre of Al Balad. This UNESCO World Heritage site offers a maze of exciting alleyways to explore, once the beating heart of Jeddah.
In early evening, head out to the New Corniche of Jeddah which stretches for 30km along the coastal resort area of Jeddah. Find a dreamy spot to view the sunset over the Red Sea and observe how the future vision is shaping up. View the striking Al Rahmah Masjid (Floating Mosque), open air sculptures and finish your evening with a fine meal at an authentic local restaurant.

Day 3: Fly to AlUla (B,D)

After breakfast, your driver will meet you for your short flight to AlUla (1h15m). AlUla is a place of extraordinary human and natural heritage. The showcase of Saudi Arabian Tourism is a living museum of preserved tombs, sandstone outcrops, historic dwellings and monuments, both natural and human-made, that hold 200,000 years of largely unexplored human history.

In the evening, savour the enchantment of desert stargazing led by a local expert surrounded by Gharameel’s mystical rock formations and enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars.

Day 4: Experience Al Ula (B,D)

Wake early for your full day exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra, the largest conserved site of the Nabataen civilization south of Petra. Home to more than 100 tombs, this ancient site is open for visitors to explore and learn from the culture, traditions and history of its people. In the afternoon, visit Dadan and Jabal Ikmah, beautiful sites that bring to life the stories of ancient civilisations.

In the afternoon, continue your journey by cycling, hiking, zip-lining or rock-gazing in the local area, via a wealth of nature activities we can pre-arrange as part of your tour.

Day 5: Drive to Wadi Al Disah (B,L)

After breakfast, you’ll journey northwards to Tabuk. After 2.5 hours, arrive in Wadi Al Disah, which translates to “the valley of palm trees”. The valley’s secluded location, well clear of crowded towns and cities, allows visitors to take a step back in time to an age before technology, before urbanization. Enjoy a traditional picnic and the stunning scenery. It’s not unusual to spot herds of wild camels, goats and migrating birds in the region – this really is a natural paradise and still off the beaten track.

With the added assistance of your guide’s 4-wheel drive vehicle, you can then continue through the Wadi to the other side where you’ll take the last part of the journey to Tabuk.

Before checking into your hotel, visit Tabuk Castle in the centre of town. This fortress is known to date back to 16th Century, though traces of ancient ruins show signs of civilization back as early as 3500 BC.

Day 6: Discover Northern Tabuk (B)

After breakfast, head out with your guide on a visit to Madyan. The territory bordering the eastern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba is the ancient land of Madyan (or Midian) whose capital was probably in today’s city of Al-Bada’, where monumental tombs were later sculpted by the Nabatean people. Madyan is the land where Moses spent ten years in voluntary exile after fleeing from Egypt following an altercation.

Visit the Madyan Tombs Maghaer Shuaib, Moses Springs and Wadi Tayyib Ism before enjoying lunch at a resort in Magna. After lunch, head to Ras Al Sheik Hermaid to view the Catalina Seaplane wreckage which rests on a beautiful coastline where the Gulf of Aqaba meets the Red Sea.

Day 7: Fly to Riyadh – Visit Ad Diriyah & Riyadh Skybridge (B)

A short flight brings you to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s modern capital.

After lunch, meet your guide for a tour of Ad Diriyah. Considered by many to be the “pearl of Saudi Arabia,” Diriyah is becoming a major tourist destination. Diriyah’s history goes back thousands of years: It was once an ancient trade and pilgrimage route, and a meeting spot for people traveling to or from Asia, Africa or Europe. Diriyah was the original home of the Saudi royal family, and served as the capital of the Emirate of Diriyah under the first Saudi dynasty from 1744 to 1818.

Then, in the early evening, discover modern Riyadh from above. From its spot in Riyadh’s fourth-tallest tower, the Sky Bridge boasts floor-to-ceiling glass panels that afford clear views across the city in both directions. Visit for a fresh filter on Riyadh’s mesmerizingly modern skyline, to get your bearings over the capital.

Afterwards, continue to a local restaurant for delicious authentic Saudi cuisine.

Day 8: Tour to the Edge of the World & Ushaiger (B)

After breakfast, drive to Ushaiger. Ushaiger is a historical village with 400 mud houses and 25 mosques.

After lunch, meet your guide for your tour to the Edge of the World, about 90 minutes drive on a tarmac road and ending with a 4×4 Adventure.
The Edge of the World (Jebel Fihrayn) got its name from the uninterrupted view of the horizon it offers atop its 300-meter-high cliffs, which overlook the surrounding plain. A short hike will take you to the cliff edge where you’ll be rewarded with stunning vistas of the valley below.

Day 9: Departure

Return to the airport for your onward flight.
