Jordan Trail Hiking Adventure
£5,280.00
This 19-day adventure is designed for travellers who want to experience Jordan beyond the familiar. You will explore the country’s cultural heartlands in the north, trek through dramatic wilderness on foot, camp beneath open skies, and end with restorative time at the Dead Sea. The route blends guided experiences with slower, more elemental travel, allowing Jordan’s landscapes to unfold gradually.
Day 1: Arrival Amman
Arrive in Amman and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to recover from your journey or enjoy a first impression of Jordan’s lively capital.
Day 2: Amman – Eastern Desert Castles – Azraq
Travel east into Jordan’s open desert to explore a series of early Islamic desert castles, striking monuments set against vast, empty landscapes. Continue to Azraq for the evening, close to one of the country’s most important wetland reserves.
Day 3: Azraq – Nature Reserves – Amman
Visit nearby nature reserves and learn about conservation efforts in this fragile environment. Later, return to Amman for time exploring the historic Citadel, Roman Theatre and the city’s vibrant street life, finishing with a guided street food walk.
Day 4: Amman – Salt – Jordan Valley – Pella
Journey west to the historic town of Salt, once a regional centre of trade and administration, before descending into the fertile Jordan Valley. Continue to the ancient site of Pella, where layers of history stretch back thousands of years.
Day 5: Pella – Ajloun
Spend the morning immersed in rural life with local families, learning traditional practices tied to the land. Later, travel north to the forested hills of Ajloun for an overnight stay surrounded by oak and pistachio woodland.
Day 6: Ajloun Nature Reserve – Umm Qais
Walk through the wooded trails of Ajloun Nature Reserve, then visit Ajloun Castle with its sweeping views across the countryside. Continue north to Umm Qais, dramatically positioned above the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan Valley.

Enjoy a guided hike in the hills around Umm Qais, followed by a scenic drive south to Madaba, known for its ancient mosaics and relaxed pace.
Day 8: Madaba – Mt Nebo – King’s Way – Dana
Visit Madaba’s famous mosaic map and continue to Mt Nebo for panoramic views across the Jordan Valley. Travel along the historic King’s Way to Dana Village, perched above one of Jordan’s most spectacular nature reserves.
Day 9: Dana – Wilderness Trekking (Camping)
Begin a multi-day trek through Dana’s wild landscapes, descending from high sandstone ridges into remote valleys. Camp under the stars in a quiet desert setting.
Day 10: Dana Trekking (Camping)
Continue trekking through changing terrain, with wide-open views, narrow wadis and striking rock formations. Another night of wild camping in the heart of the reserve.
Day 11: Dana – Little Petra Area (Camping)
The trail gradually leads south towards the Petra region, passing through increasingly sculpted sandstone landscapes. Camp near Little Petra for the night.
Day 12: Little Petra – Petra
Approach Petra on foot via ancient paths, emerging near the Monastery before descending into the heart of the rose-red city. After exploring Petra’s iconic monuments, transfer to your hotel nearby.

A full day to explore Petra more deeply, including quieter trails and elevated viewpoints. Walk beyond the main route to discover lesser-visited corners of the site.
Day 14: Petra – Little Petra – Wadi Rum
Visit Little Petra before travelling south into the vast desert of Wadi Rum. Transfer to a Bedouin camp and explore the landscape by jeep and camel as the light softens toward sunset.
