Day 1: Halifax
Arrive in Nova Scotia and collect your rental car at the airport, then continue into Halifax and check in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in and get your first feel for the city, whether that means heading down to the waterfront, exploring the downtown streets, or simply taking it easy after the flight. Overnight at Sutton Place Hotel, Halifax.
Day 2: Halifax
Full day in Halifax at leisure. The city combines maritime history with a lively modern centre, so you can spend the day between the waterfront, historic sites, public gardens and museums, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the harbour and downtown districts. Overnight at Sutton Place Hotel, Halifax.
Day 3: Halifax – Hunts Point
Leave Halifax and drive south-west along Nova Scotia’s coast towards Hunts Point. The route introduces the province’s quieter shoreline, with plenty of scope for stops at small communities, beaches and viewpoints before arriving at your resort by the Atlantic. Overnight at White Point Beach Resort, Hunts Point.
Day 4: Hunts Point
Full day at leisure in Hunts Point. Spend time enjoying White Point Beach Resort and the surrounding South Shore, with scope for beaches, coastal walks and a slower day by the Atlantic. Overnight at White Point Beach Resort, Hunts Point.
Day 5: Hunts Point – Digby
Drive west to Digby on the Bay of Fundy. The journey takes you further along Nova Scotia’s southern edge before turning towards one of the province’s best-known maritime towns, famous for its scallops, harbour setting and access to the dramatic Fundy coastline. Overnight at Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa, Digby.
Day 6: Digby
Today includes the Brier Island Whale & Seabird Zodiac excursion. Head out onto the waters of the Bay of Fundy, one of the best marine wildlife areas in the region, with the chance to see whales and seabirds in a more adventurous small-boat format. The rest of the day can be spent back in Digby at leisure. Overnight at Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa, Digby.
Day 7: Digby – Lunenburg
Drive east along the coast to Lunenburg. This is one of Nova Scotia’s best-known historic towns, with colourful waterfront buildings, a strong maritime identity and a compact centre that is easy to explore on foot once you arrive. Overnight at Bluenose Lodge, Lunenburg.
Day 8: Lunenburg – Toronto
Return to the airport in Nova Scotia and fly to Toronto. On arrival, collect your hire car and continue into the city to check in. Toronto brings a complete change of scale and atmosphere after the smaller coastal towns, with a busy downtown core, major attractions and a more urban pace. Overnight at Chelsea Hotel, Toronto.
Day 9: Toronto
Full day in Toronto at leisure. You can use the time to explore the city’s better-known sights such as the CN Tower, museums, major shopping areas and different neighbourhoods, or simply enjoy the contrast between the lakefront and the city centre. Overnight at Chelsea Hotel, Toronto.
Day 10: Toronto
Another day in Toronto to explore further or keep the pace flexible before continuing west. This extra time allows the city to feel like a proper stop rather than a passing overnight, with scope to mix major landmarks with smaller neighbourhood discoveries. Overnight at Chelsea Hotel, Toronto.
Day 11: Toronto – Niagara Falls
Drive from Toronto to Niagara Falls and check in to your hotel. Once there, the rest of the day can be spent around the falls area, taking in the viewpoints and atmosphere of one of Canada’s most recognisable natural landmarks. Overnight at Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel.
Day 12: Niagara Falls
Full day in Niagara Falls. You can spend more time around the falls themselves, add one of the local attractions, or head beyond the main viewpoint area towards surrounding wineries and the wider Niagara region. Overnight at Hilton Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel.
Day 13: Niagara Falls – Ottawa
Drive east to Ottawa. This is one of the longer road days of the itinerary, linking the Niagara region with Canada’s capital, where the mood shifts again from natural spectacle to grand civic buildings, museums and canal-side city scenery. Overnight at Metcalfe Hotel, Ottawa.
Day 14: Ottawa
Full day in Ottawa at leisure. The city lends itself to walking, with Parliament Hill, national museums and the Rideau Canal all shaping the centre, and there is enough here for either a fuller sightseeing day or a more relaxed urban stop. Overnight at Metcalfe Hotel, Ottawa.
Day 15: Ottawa – Huntsville
Drive west to Huntsville in Ontario’s Muskoka region. This part of the trip moves back into greener, more open scenery, with lakes, forests and resort country beginning to take over from city landscapes. Overnight at Deerhurst Resort, Huntsville.
Day 16: Huntsville
Day at leisure in Huntsville. The area is known for its lakes and outdoor setting, so this is a good point to enjoy a slower day, spend time by the water, or explore more of Muskoka’s natural surroundings. Overnight at Deerhurst Resort, Huntsville.
Day 17: Huntsville – Toronto
Drive back to Toronto for your final night. This gives you a straightforward return to the city before departure, while still leaving time to enjoy one last evening in Toronto depending on your arrival time. Overnight at Chelsea Hotel, Toronto.
