Day 1: Lusaka – South Luangwa National Park

Meet and assist on arrival in Lusaka, then fly to Mfuwe and continue into South Luangwa for the start of your safari. Overnight at Tafika Camp.

Day 2: South Luangwa National Park

Full safari day from Tafika’s east-bank setting near the Nsefu Sector, with a mix of day and night game drives and the option of walking. The camp’s position on the Luangwa River keeps wildlife close, with regular movement along the river and strong in-camp viewing. Overnight at Tafika Camp.

Day 3: South Luangwa National Park

Transfer to the Tafika Walking Trails area on the west bank for a walking-only camp stay. Access is on foot and the focus shifts to immersion on the trails, following established elephant and hippo paths through the Luangwa Valley with an experienced guide and an armed National Park scout. Overnight at Chikoko Tree Camp or Big Lagoon.

Day 4: South Luangwa National Park

Walking safari day from camp, with longer early walks and shorter afternoon walks shaped around conditions and wildlife movement. Between walks, the camp set-up keeps you close to the action, with open viewing areas and wildlife frequently moving through the surrounding plains and lagoon edges. Overnight at Chikoko Tree Camp or Big Lagoon.

Day 5: South Luangwa National Park – North Luangwa National Park

Fly from Lukuzi to Mwaleshi and transfer into North Luangwa, a far quieter park with very few roads where walking is central to the experience. Settle into camp on a scenic bend of the Mwaleshi River, with activities largely on foot along existing animal trails and time spent working both banks of the river. Overnight at Mwaleshi Camp.

Day 6: North Luangwa National Park

Full day on walking safaris from Mwaleshi, using the river and its pools as magnets for wildlife in the dry season. This is a remote, low-traffic part of Zambia, with the feel of moving through a largely roadless landscape. Overnight at Mwaleshi Camp.

Day 7: North Luangwa National Park

Another full day in North Luangwa, continuing walking safaris and using the flexibility of the camp’s location to stay close to what is moving well. Time at the river is part of the rhythm here, with scope for slow, attentive tracking and long spells outdoors. Overnight at Mwaleshi Camp.

Day 8: North Luangwa National Park – Kafue National Park

Fly Mwaleshi to Mfuwe, connect to Lusaka, then continue by shuttle flight to Lufupa and transfer into Kafue for a change of ecosystem. Settle in beside a hidden lagoon and begin exploring this game-rich area by vehicle, on foot, or by boat along the Kafue River. Overnight at Musekese Camp.

Day 9: Kafue National Park

Full day at Musekese, combining game drives, walking, and boat-based viewing depending on conditions. Kafue’s scale and variety show up in the mix of floodplains, rivers and woodland, with strong predator presence and excellent birdlife in the wider area. Overnight at Musekese Camp.

Day 10: Kafue National Park

Another full day in Kafue, keeping plans flexible around what is active on the lagoon edges and along the river. Time can be split between tracking on land and slower water-based viewing, with scope for birding and a more measured pace between activities. Overnight at Musekese Camp.
