Day 1: Lusaka – South Luangwa

You will be met and assisted on arrival at Lusaka International Airport before boarding your scheduled light aircraft flight to Mfuwe, gateway to South Luangwa National Park. On arrival, transfer to Flatdogs Camp on the banks of the Luangwa River, just outside the park’s main gate. Settle in and ease into the valley, with wildlife often visible from camp along the river edge. Overnight at Flatdogs Camp.

Day 2: Lusaka – South Luangwa

Begin safari activities in South Luangwa with expertly guided time in one of Africa’s most highly regarded wildlife areas. The focus is on morning and afternoon game drives, with the river and nearby lagoons often producing strong sightings and excellent photographic opportunities. Overnight at Flatdogs Camp.

Day 3: South Luangwa

Continue safari activities in South Luangwa, with the option of seasonal walking safaris led by experienced guides. The park is especially known for leopard sightings, strong elephant numbers and the endemic Thornicroft’s giraffe, with the Luangwa River system shaping much of the wildlife movement. Overnight at Flatdogs Camp.

Day 4: South Luangwa

Another full day to work the most productive areas of the park, balancing time in the vehicle with slower stretches back at camp. Evenings here are part of the experience too, with dinner under the stars and the sounds of the bush carrying across from the river. Overnight at Flatdogs Camp.

Day 5: South Luangwa – Lower Zambezi

Transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your scheduled flight to the Lower Zambezi region. On arrival, transfer to Baines River Camp, set on the banks of the Zambezi River opposite Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. Settle into camp and take in the river setting, where elephants and buffalo are often seen coming down to drink. Overnight at Baines River Camp.

Day 6: Lower Zambezi

Begin safari activities in the Lower Zambezi, where the combination of river and bush creates a different rhythm from South Luangwa. Activities may include game drives in the national park, guided walking safaris, canoeing when water levels allow, and boat cruises along the river. Overnight at Baines River Camp.

Day 7: Lower Zambezi

Continue with a flexible mix of land and water activities, shaped around conditions and what is moving well. Tiger fishing is also listed among the options here, while sundowners on the riverbank are part of the camp’s slower, more scenic side. Overnight at Baines River Camp.

Day 8: Lower Zambezi – Livingstone

Scheduled flight to Livingstone, followed by a scenic road transfer to Chundukwa River Lodge. Set on a quieter stretch of the Zambezi upstream from Victoria Falls, the lodge offers a calmer final setting with river chalets, shaded lawns and broad views over the water. Overnight at Chundukwa River Lodge.

Day 9: Livingstone

Day at leisure in the Livingstone area. Optional activities at additional cost include a guided tour of Victoria Falls, sunset river cruises, canoeing excursions, cultural visits, local market tours, Livingstone Island visits, helicopter flights over the falls, and horse riding along the Zambezi. Overnight at Chundukwa River Lodge.

Day 10: Livingstone

Another day at leisure to explore further or slow the pace and stay by the river. Chundukwa’s setting works well as a softer finish after the safari sections, whether you use the day for activities or simply enjoy the lodge and the Zambezi. Overnight at Chundukwa River Lodge.
