A 10-day Madagascar journey combining the deep south’s spiny forest at Mandrare River Camp with the remote tsingy landscapes of Namoroka. Fly by scheduled charter from Antananarivo to Ifotaka for all-inclusive days of lemurs, baobab sundowners and Lac Anony, then return to the capital for Ambohimanga before flying to Soalala and continuing by road to Namoroka Tsingy Camp for two days exploring limestone pinnacles, cave systems and rare wildlife, finishing back in Antananarivo.

Day 1: Antananarivo

Arrive into Ivato Airport and meet your English-speaking guide, then transfer to your hotel in the upper town. Time to settle in, with the option to use the pool and enjoy views across the city before dinner. Overnight at Maison Gallieni in a standard room (Half board).

Day 2: Antananarivo – Mandrare River Camp

Transfer to Ivato Airport for your scheduled charter flight to Ifotaka, then a short transfer to camp. Late afternoon departure for a night walk in the Forest of Zenavo to see sifakas and sleeping sportive lemurs before sunset, then mouse lemurs, chameleons, owls and active sportive lemurs after dark. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 3: Mandrare River Camp

Morning excursion to the sacred gallery forest south of camp, on foot or by boat depending on river depth, with ring-tailed lemurs and Verreaux sifaka often the highlight. Lunch at camp and a relaxed afternoon by the pool, then a late afternoon walk through spiny forest and Antandroy ancestral tombs with an English-speaking guide and local tracker, finishing with sundowners on the riverbank. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 4: Mandrare River Camp

Early morning spiny forest walk for endemic birds, then breakfast. Visit the local market or village to meet the Antandroy community, followed by lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Late afternoon baobab sundowner, with the option of a traditional dance performance in the evening. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 5: Mandrare River Camp

Day trip to Lac Anony (about 2 hours each way), a saltwater lake separated from the Indian Ocean by sand dunes and known for flamingos and other waterbirds. Walk the shoreline, picnic, climb the dunes for wide views, and swim in the lake before returning to camp. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 6: Mandrare River Camp – Antananarivo

Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled charter flight to Antananarivo, routing via Fort Dauphin with refuelling. On arrival, transfer to Nosy Manga near the airport. In the afternoon, drive to Ambohimanga, the UNESCO-listed fortified sacred hill of the Merina kings and queens. Overnight at Nosy Manga in a King Standard room (Full board).

Day 7: Antananarivo – Soalala – Namoroka

Fly by scheduled charter to Soalala, then transfer by road to Namoroka Tsingy Camp with a village walk en route. Late afternoon walk in the forest around camp for birds, chameleons and sifakas, with the possibility of fossa or aye-aye, then sundowners among the baobabs. Overnight at Namoroka Tsingy Camp in a tent (All inclusive).

Day 8: Namoroka Tsingy Camp

Full day exploring Namoroka National Park and its tsingy landscapes, including the cave system beneath the massif, with a picnic lunch in the shade of the tsingy. Overnight at Namoroka Tsingy Camp in a tent (All inclusive).

Day 9: Namoroka Tsingy Camp

Second full day in Namoroka for further tsingy and wildlife time, with another opportunity to explore the caves and surrounding forest. Overnight at Namoroka Tsingy Camp in a tent (All inclusive).

Day 10: Namoroka – Soalala – Antananarivo

After an early breakfast, transfer by road to Soalala (about 2 hours 30 minutes) for your scheduled charter flight to Antananarivo. On arrival, your private guide will accompany you by road to the international terminal.
