A 13-day Madagascar journey that begins in Antananarivo and the rainforests of Andasibe for indri encounters and night walks, then flies deep south to the spiny forests of the Mandrare for lemurs, baobabs, riverbank sundowners and Antandroy culture, before switching north-west to the rarely visited tsingy landscapes of Namoroka, with two full days exploring limestone pinnacles, caves and endemic wildlife, finishing back in Antananarivo.

Day 1: Antananarivo

Arrive into Ivato Airport and meet your English-speaking guide, then transfer to your hotel in the upper town. Time to settle in, with the option to enjoy the pool and views before dinner. Overnight at Maison Gallieni in a standard room (Half board).

Day 2: Antananarivo – Andasibe

After an early breakfast, drive east to Andasibe (about 5 hours), passing rice fields, redbrick houses and roadside produce stalls. Check in for lunch, then visit the Mitsinjo private reserve, run by a local NGO supporting reforestation, community education and conservation, including Madagascar’s first amphibian captive-breeding facility, with the chance to plant an indigenous species on the reforestation trail. Overnight at Mantadia Lodge in a standard room (Full board).

Day 3: Andasibe (Mantadia National Park)

Drive to Mantadia National Park (about 1.5 hours) with a picnic lunch. Hike in search of indri, diademed sifaka and other rainforest lemurs, plus key endemic birds, then picnic by the Rianasoa Waterfall. Late evening night walk with a local guide to look for nocturnal lemurs including mouse lemurs and fat-tailed dwarf lemur. Overnight at Mantadia Lodge in a standard room (Full board).

Day 4: Andasibe (Perinet Reserve) – Antananarivo

Visit the Perinet Reserve with a local guide for indri and other lemurs, with strong chances for rainforest birds, orchids and reptiles. Return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer by road to Antananarivo (about 5 hours). Overnight at Nosy Manga in a King standard room (Half board, plus lunch in Andasibe).

Day 5: Antananarivo – Mandrare River Camp

After breakfast, transfer to Ivato Airport for your scheduled charter flight to Ifotaka (about 2 hours 30 minutes), then a short transfer to camp. Late afternoon, head out for a night walk in the Forest of Zenavo to spot sifakas and sleeping sportive lemurs before sunset, then mouse lemurs, chameleons, owls and active sportive lemurs after dark. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 6: Mandrare River Camp

Morning excursion to the sacred gallery forest south of camp, reaching it on foot or by boat depending on river depth, with ring-tailed lemurs and Verreaux sifaka often the headline. Lunch back at camp, then a relaxed afternoon by the pool. Late afternoon walk through spiny forest and Antandroy ancestral tombs with an English-speaking guide and local tracker, finishing with sundowners on the riverbank. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 7: Mandrare River Camp

Early morning walk in the spiny forest for endemic birds, then breakfast. Visit the local market or village to meet the Antandroy community, followed by lunch and a relaxed afternoon. Late afternoon sundowner among the baobabs, with the option of a traditional dance performance in the evening. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 8: Mandrare River Camp

Day trip to Lac Anony (about 2 hours each way), a saltwater lake separated from the Indian Ocean by sand dunes and known for flamingos and other waterbirds. Walk the shoreline, picnic, climb the dunes for wide views, and swim in the lake before returning to camp. Overnight at Mandrare River Camp in a luxury tent (All inclusive).

Day 9: Mandrare River Camp – Antananarivo

Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled charter back to Antananarivo, routing via Fort Dauphin with refuelling. On arrival, transfer to Nosy Manga near the airport. In the afternoon, drive to Ambohimanga, the UNESCO-listed sacred hill and former Merina royal site. Overnight at Nosy Manga in a King standard room (Full board).

Day 10: Antananarivo – Soalala – Namoroka

Fly by scheduled charter to Soalala, then transfer by road to Namoroka Tsingy Camp (about 2 hours 30 minutes) with a village walk en route. Late afternoon walk in the forest around camp for birds, chameleons and sifakas, with the possibility of fossa or aye-aye, then sundowners among the baobabs. Overnight at Namoroka Tsingy Camp in a tent (All inclusive).

Day 11: Namoroka Tsingy Camp

Full day exploring Namoroka National Park and its tsingy landscapes, one of Madagascar’s most rarely visited protected areas. Expect limestone formations, strong birdlife, and chances for several lemur species, with a picnic lunch in the shade of the tsingy. Overnight at Namoroka Tsingy Camp in a tent (All inclusive).

Day 12: Namoroka Tsingy Camp

Second full day in Namoroka, including exploration of cave systems beneath the massif with the possibility of fossil remains, alongside further wildlife time across the park’s tsingy and forests. Overnight at Namoroka Tsingy Camp in a tent (All inclusive).

Day 13: Namoroka – Soalala – Antananarivo

Early breakfast, then transfer by road to Soalala (about 2 hours 30 minutes) for your scheduled charter flight back to Antananarivo. On arrival, transfer to your hotel in town.
