Egypt Nile Valley & Red Sea

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Arrive at Cairo International Airport, where an Odyssey Travel representative will welcome you and assist through immigration. Transfer by modern air-conditioned coach to your hotel and check in. Overnight in Cairo at Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel, Superior Garden View rooms.

Day 2: Pyramids, Sphinx, Grand Egyptian Museum

Early breakfast, then a guided visit to the Great Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus) and the Great Sphinx, with the option to enter the Cheops Pyramid. A brief stop at a papyrus institute or perfume shop can be arranged afterwards, before continuing to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Return to the hotel and overnight in Cairo at Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel, Superior Garden View rooms.

Day 3: Cairo to Aswan, Nile Cruise

Breakfast, check out, then transfer to Cairo Domestic Airport for your flight to Aswan to board the 5-star deluxe Oberoi Philae Cruiser for 5 days. For those who wish, Abu Simbel can be added via Aswan with a guided visit to the temples of Ramses II and Nefertari before continuing to Aswan. In Aswan, board at the private dock with a welcome Zaffa, then lunch on board.

Later, enjoy a felucca ride around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens, and views of the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Afternoon tea in the lounge with an Oud trio, then canapés with complimentary Egyptian wine and local beer, followed by dinner. Overnight on board.

Day 4: Philae and Kom Ombo

Breakfast on board, then a short motorboat ride to Philae Temple on Agilika Island. Continue to the Granite Quarries and the huge unfinished obelisk. Lunch on board while cruising to Kom Ombo, then visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. Dinner on board, followed by movie night. Overnight on board.

Day 5: Edfu Temple and Luxor Temple

Breakfast on board as you sail to Edfu, then visit Edfu Temple. Cruise onwards to Luxor, with lunch on board and an Egyptian cooking lesson. After afternoon tea, your Egyptologist guides you around Luxor Temple. In the evening, enjoy an “Egyptian Night” costume party with the option to dress in a traditional gallabiyah, plus dinner and music and dancing. Overnight on board.

Day 6: West Bank and Karnak Temple

Breakfast on board, then visit the Valley of the Kings, at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens, and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, passing the Colossi of Memnon on the return. After lunch, tour Karnak Temple. Afternoon tea in the lounge, then a gala dinner with a dervish show and belly dancer performance. Overnight on board.

Day 7: Disembark in Luxor, transfer to Hurghada

Breakfast, then disembarkation and transfer to Hurghada (Red Sea), around 280 km, approximately 4 hours. Check in at the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh for three nights of relaxation. Overnight in Hurghada.

Day 8 & 9: Hurghada at leisure

Two full days at leisure to enjoy the hotel amenities, or book optional activities.. Overnight at the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh.

Day 10: Hurghada to Cairo

Breakfast, check out, then transfer to Hurghada Airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival, meet your Odyssey Travel representative and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Cairo at Four Seasons Nile Plaza Hotel, Superior Garden View rooms.

Day 11: Departure

Final departure transfers after breakfast. Your representative will escort you and assist with check-in for your flight.
