Supporting rape victims and children in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a spectacular country and for those who want safari, adventure, honeymoons or just relaxation, there are countless activities on offer. From the majesty of Victoria Falls, to thrilling safaris in the Hwange National Park (the home of the elephants), you can stay in authentic bush camps and experience the wonderful outdoor lifestyle that the country offers.

Thanks to the excellent on-going work of our ground handlers and tour guides, we are confident that the trips we offer give back to local communities, contribute towards the conservation of the beautiful national parks and support the growing tourism industry responsibly.

Of particular note is the work of charities like the Zimbabwe Aid Fund, founded by our Zimbabwe Specialist Sean Kelly. Odyssey World has been supporting the Fund and the work that they do with local schools, orphanages and the elderly for over 3 years.

So when Sean Kelly called us this week asking for help. We, of course, said yes!  He needed clothes for babies whose mothers had been victims of rape, plus pencils for the rural schools and orphanages he works with. Sean is taking our care package, along with the rest of the equipment he has collected, out to Zimbabwe this week and we are looking forward to hearing about his trip when he returns.
