Introducing our new range of luxury expedition cruises!

A typical vacation involves a lot of travelling: cramped flights, shoddy buses and delayed trains are often par for the course. While it rarely ruins a getaway experience, it can often put a spanner in the works; dulling an otherwise seamless escape. However, in the interests of maximising enjoyment, why not opt for luxury and comfort the entire time?

Cruises are becoming ever more popular and it’s not difficult to see why: the moment you board the ship, you’re treated like royalty. From the lavish suites offering breathtaking views and plush accommodations to the dedicated and attentive crew, as well as world-class dining options prepared by renowned chefs – the experience exudes grandeur.

This year, Odyssey World has exclusively partnered with expedition cruise ship operator, Swan Hellenic. While not typically operating in cruises, the destinations and quality of service offered by this small ship luxury operator makes us very excited about these special overseas odysseys.

With an emphasis on cultural exploration, wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability, the ethos of these beautiful voyages align with everything we love about authentic travel – but at sea! “Swan Hellenic prides itself on taking its guests to see what others don’t, visiting small and lesser-known ports of special cultural, geographical or wildlife interest as well as bucket list famous cities”, they proudly proclaim.

What can I expect?

Swan Hellenic has been accompanying intrepid adventurers to the furthest corners of the planet for over seven decades, and over that time they have managed to refine and perfect the luxury cruise experience.

Swan Hellenic specialises in small-ship cruising: the maximum number of guests on a cruise is 192. The interior of the ship is inspired by Scandinavian design, with elegant cabins and staterooms projecting the comfort of a boutique hotel. Each cabin has been specifically designed to have unobstructed views of the surrounding scenery – allowing passengers to soak in the natural beauty wherever they are!

Equipped with a sauna, gym, fine dining restaurant, bar, library, and science lab, each ship has lots of deck space with dedicated viewing areas. Not only that, but the onboard team are on hand to assist at all times, offering friendly, 5-star service. Click here to find out more!

Where can I go?

Through our recent partnership, Odyssey World is offering expeditions to four locations (including two entirely new additions): Cuba, Madagascar, Iceland and Antarctica.

Our Cuba Discovery Cruise starts from £4,647 per person (as of August 2023) and sails through some of the country’s most notable sights – start with entry into the UNESCO World Heritage site Cartagena famous for its colonial fortifications, immerse yourself in the vibrant streets of Havana, escape to the secluded beach paradise of Maria la Gorda and enjoy tranquil days at sea in between!

The Madagascar and Eastern Islands Cruise starts from £3,925 per person, granting you the opportunity to engage with Madagascar’s distinctive character: witness the famously boisterous wildlife, from dolphins to lemurs, discover the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs and experience the unforgettable verdant paradise of Nosy Be Island.

Iceland’s Circumnavigation Cruise begins at £6,676.00 per person and captivates with its famously striking landscapes. From the thunderous waterfalls and remote fjords, the spectacular volcanic landscapes featuring thermal pools and geysers to the esoteric wildlife, be it puffin-watching, orca and whale sighting.

And last but not least: introducing a journey like no other, the Antarctic Peninsula Discovery Expedition Cruise is priced at £8,517 per person. The southernmost continent on Earth, Antarctica is unparalleled in its geographical extremity, offering unique expedition experiences that few will ever get to see!

Moreover, it’s a haven for wildlife enthusiasts – rarely will you reach a location with such untarnished access to an organic ecosystem, allowing one to watch the minutiae of cold-acclimatised mammals surviving in such harsh conditions. Countless colonies of penguins waddle across the icy shores, seals bask lazily on the ice and whales majestically breach the untamed waters…

The landscape, undoubtedly, is as striking as it is beautiful. Vast expanses of ice and snow dominate the scenery, dazzling glaciers and momentous icebergs drift around the barren expanse on the very edge of the world.
