Keep your eyes peeled for the amusing Proboscis Monkeys, Monitor Lizards and wild Orangutans. Visit the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre, the Rainforest Discovery Centre and take a treetop canopy walk. Finally enjoy your last few days at Rasa Ria Resort and enjoy the beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters.

Day 1: Depart the UK

Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Day 2: Arrive Borneo

Fly to Kota Kinabalu where you will be met and taken to your hotel.

Day 3: Kota Kinabalu at leisure (B)

Full day at leisure to relax at the hotel or explore the city. There are a number of child-friendly activities at the hotel (including a water play area in the pool) or we can offer a range of tours like exploring the Kiulu River on a white-water rafting trip. (optional tour not included in price).

Day 4: Kota Kinabalu – Tabin Wildlife Reserve (B,L,D)

Take a short flight to Lahad Datu then transfer to Tabin Wildlife Reserve. Visit the Lipad mud volcano to spot the animals which use the volcano as a salt lick. Enjoy a night safari to search for the nocturnal wildlife.

Day 5: Tabin Wildlife Reserve (B,L,D)

Enjoy a dawn drive to look for early morning wildlife or take part in the Tabin bird walk to search for the indigenous birdlife. Enjoy a trek to the Lipad waterfall spotting animals along the way followed by a relaxing Tabin foot soak to ease those tired muscles. In the evening enjoy a nocturnal nature walk.

Day 6: Tabin Wildlife Reserve – Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge (B,L,D)

This morning head to the Kinabatangan River region. After checking into your river lodge, take an afternoon river cruise to spot wildlife.

Day 7: Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge – Abai Jungle Lodge (B,L,D)

Get up early to visit Pitas Oxbow Lake before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Take part in a tree planting project followed by an optional lunch prepared by the local villagers. As dusk falls head out on a cruise along the Kinabatangan River in search of wildlife before it settles down for the night. Tansfer down river to Abai Jungle Lodge.

Day 8: Abai Jungle Lodge – Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary (B,L,D)

View wildlife from the nature boardwalk before transferring by boat to Sepilok. Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary and see them feeding or visit the Sun Bear Centre – a conservation centre for the world’s smallest bears in danger of becoming extinct.

Day 9: Sepilok (B,D)

Day at leisure to relax, explore the resort and visit the nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre nearby (optional tour not included).

Day 10: Sepilok – Shagri La Rasa Ria (B)

Fly back to Kota Kinabalu. A short boat ride takes you to the iconic Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort where you will enjoy your final 4 nights in Borneo. On a wide stretch of beach, this large hotel has everything from water activities, an 18 hole golf course, several swimming pools and an array of activities to keep the whole family occupied.

Days 11 – 13: Beach at leisure (B)

Enjoy the activities on offer at your resort including an excellent kids club with fun programmes, games and creativity to keep your young adventurers entertained.

Day 14: Departure (B)

Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu airport for your flight back to the UK.
