DAY 01 Arrival Sri Lanka (-/-/-)

On arrival at Colombo International Airport where you will be met and transferred to Wilpattu.
In the afternoon enjoy a game drive at the Wilpattu National Park.

The untouched jungle of the Wilpattu National Park and its villus where animals come to drink is a great place to catch the Sri Lankan Leopard in action, spot some incredible bird life, and to even see a lone elephant crashing through the trees. The Wilpattu National Park is the largest and oldest national park in Sri Lanka. It was widely regarded as the place to spot the Sri Lankan Leopard in its natural habitat. It is also home to endangered animals such as the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear and the Sri Lankan Elephant.

Overnight Stay at Mahoora Camping, Wilpattu- Mahoora Premium on Full Board Basis

Premium Tents ( 12’ x 10’ ) with raised beds with bed linen and a bedside table with basic amenities. Fully sealed tent, with ventilation nets. Each tent is equipped with a shoe rack and two foldable arm chairs.

There are two Game Drives available each day. The early morning safari starts at 6.00 a.m. and ends at approximately 10.00 a.m., whilst the late afternoon / sunset safari takes place from 3.00 p.m. until approximately 6.00 p.m.
We use Jeeps with front facing, cushioned seats on three different levels* for maximum animal viewing and photography opportunities. A complimentary picnic basket with hot / cold beverages and sandwiches is provided on the morning safari and complimentary hot / cold beverages are provided on the afternoon safari.

All meals which are served are freshly prepared by an executive chef using the freshest available fruits and vegetables from the local community. Fish and meat items are purchased from local fishermen and a reputable food supplier respectively. Each camp has a fully-equipped kitchen complete with modern cooling and freezing facilities. Special dietary requirements can be catered to upon prior notice.

A gourmet five-course BBQ Dinner takes place on one night while basic à la carte meals, both Sri Lankan and Western, are served at other times.

DAY 02 Wilpattu (B/L/D)

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives at the Wilpattu National Park.

DAY 03 Wasgamuwa (B/L/D)

Early morning enjoy a game drive at the Wilpattu National Park.
Thereafter proceed to Wasgamuwa where you will spend your next 02 nights.

The Wasgamuwa National Park has a history of being the place to observe the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear (a recognized subspecies of the Sloth Bear). The name Wasgamuwa is derived from the Sinhalese ‘walas gamuwa’ where walaha is bear and gamuwa means ‘the woods’. Due to the decline in population of the Sri Lankan Sloth Bear, the most commonly seen animal on safari today is the Sri Lankan Elephant.

En-route climb the Lion Rock, one of the seven World Heritage sites in the island.
This is an ancient rock fortress and ruins of a castle, which was once the home to King Kasyapa. The entrance to the original fortress was through the mouth of a lion, however the ravages of time has resulted with only a part of the massive paws remaining today. A testament to ancient artistry and architectural ingenuity – Sigiriya has many attractions to its visitors – its gardens (boulder, water & terraced), its artistry (the world renowned frescos), the mirror wall and the dramatic history linked to the construction of the Lion Rock. An original Lost City, Sigiriya is a must see in any visit to the Cultural Triangle

Thereafter proceed to Wasgamuwa.

In the afternoon enjoy a game drive at the Wasgamuwa National Park.

DAY 04 Wasgamuwa (B/L/D)

DAY 05 (B/-/D)

Early morning enjoy a game drive at the Wasgamuwa National Park.

Thereafter proceed to Kandalama where you will spend 02 nights.

Overnight Stay at Heritance Kandalama, Kandalama -Superior Room on Half Board Basis

Where monkeys climb your balcony pillars as if they were trees, swifts nest in the corners of corridors as if they were cliffs, granite crags erupt into the sinuous white walkways. Where you can float in the infinity pool while gazing across at the Sigiriya rock fortress. One of the premier 5 Star hotels in Sri Lanka. The abundance of real-life animals around the hotel is complemented by wonderful large-scale sculptures within it. A metal owl is suspended outside the main restaurant, wooden elephants inhabit the lounge, a stone cobra uncoils along the terrace overlooking the infinity pool.

DAY 06 – Dambulla (B/-/D)

This morning you will visit the Dambulla Cave Temples.

Rangiriya Dambulla Cave Temple – which is located in the North Central Province. This UNESCO World Heritage Site which dates back to the 01st century BC is an amazing complex of 05 caves, first used as a refuge by an ancient king who on regaining his throne, commissioned magnificent carved images within the living rock. Later kings made further improvements and the caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is a colossal figure spanning 15 meters. Cave inscriptions from the 2nd Century BC are found and on the walls are many paintings most of which belong to the Kandy period (early 19th century). This temple is a perfect location to view evolution of ancient Sri Lankan art and is an important historical site due to the amalgamation of the material from many eras.
