Zimbabwe Mana Pools

£2,135.00

A 4-day Mana Pools extension that flies you straight from Harare into one of Zimbabwe’s most atmospheric river landscapes. Mana Pools is a UNESCO-listed stretch of Zambezi floodplain where wide green flats, ancient albida trees and a purple escarpment skyline set the scene for game walks and drives. It is best known for big bull elephants, but the draw is the whole floodplain system: plains game in numbers and the predators that follow them, all in a setting that feels remote and quietly intense.

Day 1: Harare – Mana Pools National Park

Depart Harare by light aircraft to Mana Pools, then transfer into camp. Settle into a simple, unfenced river camp positioned between the Zambezi and a well-used water pan, where animals can drift through while you are in camp. Depending on arrival and conditions, begin your first activities with a focus on getting your bearings on the floodplain and reading what is moving to water. Overnight at Mana River Camp.

Day 2: Mana Pools National Park

Full day of activities from camp, combining game walks and game drives across the floodplains and riverine edge. The landscape here is the story: oxbow pools, broad grassy flats and giant trees that draw wildlife in the dry season. Elephant sightings are a defining feature, including the park’s iconic behaviour of bulls stretching up on hind legs to reach seedpods, with strong chances of plains game and the predators that shadow them. Overnight at Mana River Camp.

Day 3: Mana Pools National Park

Another full day to work the most productive areas, shaped by tracks, fresh sign and where game is concentrating. Mana’s appeal is how close and immersive it can feel, particularly on foot, with time to sit with encounters and let the floodplain reveal itself rather than rushing between points. Overnight at Mana River Camp.

Day 4: Harare

Final morning in Mana Pools, then transfer for your shared air charter back to Harare.
