Botswana Luxury Desert & Delta

£5,299.00

This 11-day itinerary runs from Victoria Falls into Botswana’s northern safari circuit, combining Chobe’s riverfront wildlife with the Okavango Delta’s waterways, then adding a dedicated Moremi Game Reserve stay before finishing on the Boteti River beside Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.

This is the luxury variant, built around standout lodges in strong safari positions: Ilala Lodge by Victoria Falls, Chobe Game Lodge inside Chobe National Park, Camp Okavango in the Delta, Camp Moremi within Moremi Game Reserve, and Leroo La Tau on the Boteti. Enjoy a more elevated, better-located circuit through Botswana’s headline wildlife areas, with richer variety and a sharper sense of progression from river, to delta, to reserve, to desert-edge river.

Day 1 to 3: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Arrive in Victoria Falls and transfer to Ilala Lodge Hotel. Over the next two days you can properly do the main viewpoints and rainforest paths, with the constant spray and thunder of the Zambezi right beside you. This is also the best place in the route to mix nature with a bit of theatre: river sunsets upstream, scenic flights, rafting in the gorge, and the classic Victoria Falls adrenaline options.

Day 3 to 5: Chobe National Park

Transfer from Victoria Falls into Chobe National Park and settle in at Chobe Game Lodge. The rhythm here is simple and effective: game drives for predators and plains game, then time on the river where elephants, hippos, and buffalo stack up along the banks. Evenings tend to belong to Chobe’s sunsets, with wildlife still moving as the light drops.

Day 5 to 7: Okavango Delta

Transfer to Kasane Airport and fly by shared charter into the Okavango Delta for two nights at Camp Okavango. This is the Delta at its most immersive: slipping through channels by mokoro, cruising by boat, and getting out on foot to read the ground properly with a guide. Birdlife is a constant here, and the water draws in elephants and other animals in ways you do not get on a purely vehicle-based safari.

Day 7 to 9: Moremi Game Reserve

Fly from Camp Okavango Airstrip to Xakanaxa Airstrip and continue into Moremi for two nights at Camp Moremi. Moremi is where the Delta’s waterways collide with dry land habitats, so the game viewing can swing from lagoons full of hippos to woodlands where leopards and other predators make the rules. Days are built around game drives, with time on the permanent channels by boat to change perspective and pick up the smaller details between the headline sightings.

Day 9 to 11: Boteti River, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

Fly by shared charter from Xakanaxa Airstrip to Leroo La Tau Airstrip and finish on the Boteti River for two nights at Leroo La Tau. This is a strong finale because it feels different: drier country, wider horizons, and a river line that concentrates wildlife where the landscape starts to lean towards desert. Game drives focus on the riverbanks and the animals drawn in to drink, with cultural excursions adding a change of pace between sightings.

Day 11: Departure

Fly by shared charter from Leroo La Tau Airstrip to Maun International Airport, marking the end of the itinerary.
