A superb week in Australia – June 2026
I travelled with a group to Australia and drove from Melbourne to Sydney. Odyssey World Travel arranged everything and did an excellent job – they followed the brief we gave them and then some, resulting in a superb week with friends in excellent venues and hotels plus all arrangements done in advance. We will be using them again!

A perfect trip to Tanzania & Kenya – June 2026
Amazing! Wonderful! Brilliant company to book through. Every little detail covered. Thank you Odyssey World once again for a perfect trip in every way.

A brilliant trip to Borneo – June 2026
All three of us had a great trip, with all the logistics working out brilliantly which we thank Odyssey World and their partner in Borneo for.
All the guides throughout the trip were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, especially in Kinabatangan.
We all loved Gaya Island Resort, with the food prices very reasonable in our opinions for a luxury hotel. It might be worth pointing out that the nightly buffet at the main restaurant offers very good value and a very wide selection of foods.

Nothing short of exceptional in Namibia – May 2026
Our experience travelling to Namibia with Odyssey World was nothing short of exceptional. Madri expertly put together an incredible itinerary, answered our questions patiently, and suggested options that we would never have thought of ourselves. As a family of 5 adults, price was always going to be a factor, but our budget went further than we could have ever hoped. Despite being on a ‘self-drive’ tour, we always felt confident with their local team and Madri was on hand if we needed her whilst we were away. Namibia itself was breathtaking. We loved every single moment: the people; the landscape; the food; and of course the wildlife. We will definitely book again!

A wonderful time of leisure and wildlife in Borneo – May 2026
We had a really wonderful time and we’re so impressed with how smoothly it all went. On every occasion someone met us promptly to take us or drop us off to the next stage which was brilliant considering our flights were booked separately.
We loved our itinerary it was a good balance of lots to do but also leisure time which is what we wanted. It’s always hit and miss with spotting wildlife but we managed to see most of the main ones. Our favourite place to stay was My Nature Resort of course.
[Odyssey World’s] list of stuff to take was useful we did use/need most of it but not all as we were booked on relatively tame trips not too extreme. Mosquitoes were not as bad as we thought.
The people in general were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us including the drivers and the resort staff; I don’t think we carried our suitcases even a few feet once.
The knowledge of the guides was amazing we had no idea how they remember it all and how they spot the wildlife especially at night.
We think that a decent level of fitness is needed even for our quite tame excursions as one of our lodges was up quite a few steps and climbing in and out of boats and trucks presented a few challenges for older people. However the staff bent over backwards to help them. And the type of people that book this holiday just got on with it.
We did ask about Gayá Island Resort chalet location in advance and you kindly ensured that we only had a nice gentle climb so thank you for that.
We would recommend Odyssey World without hesitation to others and will certainly be looking to see what else you have for our next adventure.

So much wildlife in Botswana – May 2026
Had a wonderful tailor-made trip to Botswana and Victoria falls in April organised by Odyssey World. Stayed in three different camps (Oddballs , Khwai and Chobe) and had walking, driving and boating game viewing experiences. Very exciting! Saw so much wildlife and met some lovely people. The Vic Falls extension was great too as the falls were magnificent and we also saw vulture feeding. A very well organised trip that met all our requirements, I’d thoroughly recommend this company!

Borneo, a stunning country with wonderful people – April 2026
It was a very well-organized trip. I thank Aimee for her excellent work. It’s incredible, everything was perfect. Borneo is a stunning country with wonderful people and equally stunning landscapes. Not to mention the gorge and wildlife. I recommend everyone to experience Turtle Island; it was a truly moving evening.

Blown away by the wildlife in Borneo – April 2026
I have travelled to many wildlife destinations and I was completely blown away by the wildlife in Borneo. There was always something to see and the sheer beauty is hard to describe. Any wildlife lover needs to go to Borneo!
Each resort was lovely and had its own charm. My Nature Resort has beautiful landscaping and rooms were great. Abai Jungle Lodge also had beautiful grounds and excellent accommodations. Gaya Island Resort was top notch accommodations and a nice relaxing end to our action packed trip.
The trip was absolutely fabulous. The tours were well organized, the logistics were perfect. This was a bucket list trip for me and it did not disappoint. I cannot believe all the amazing wildlife we saw – including the big 5! As a wildlife photographer hobbyist – it was a dream come true. I wish I could have stayed longer. We had two added bonuses – we met a lovely family on the trip and shared some great memories with them, AND we found some unique treasures while shopping in KK that we will cherish forever!

Each day ticking off bucket list entries in Borneo – April 2026
Too many highlights to single one out. Every day was ticking off bucket list entries. See an elephant take a dip in the river? Tick. A troop of proboscis monkeys settling down for the night? Tick. A turtle laying her eggs? Tick. Snorkeling beautiful reefs, with turtles, reef sharks and the whole cast of finding Nemo? Tick. Flying squirrels, Western Tarsier, Slow Loris, Crocodiles, Orangutans, Sun Bears, snakes, giant monitor lizards and loads of laughs with great people? Endless ticks.
MY Nature was beautiful and Gaya Island Resort felt very fancy and luxurious. Abai Lodge was an amazing location.
Aimee was fantastic from start to finish. Great knowledge, responsive, and very helpful in trying to secure a new route.

A smooth trip to Borneo filled with highlights – April 2026
Pick a highlight? Wow, that is difficult as the whole trip was amazing. People were really friendly, courteous and guides very knowledgeable. Food was fantastic at all venues. Also other guests we met were really nice and enjoyed sharing experiences.
Loved the baby orangutans and mothers at Sepilok – some rehabilitated and a large wild one with baby which gave us opportunity to see them fairly close up.
Flying squirrels at My Nature Resort were amazing, as well as pygmy elephants and orangutans and crocodiles on Kinabatangan River, and beautiful birds.
Whilst we didn’t see any of the larger mammals at Tabin – dawn and dusk walks and drives were great fun, saw variety of smaller mammals and loads of birds. My partner really enjoyed the night walks, particularly tarrantuala! Waking up to gibbons calling and walking in the trees was wonderful.
Gaya Island was also incredibly relaxing and snorkelling with a guide was brilliant – swimming with turtles, reef sharks and lots of fish; he also took photos and videos which he shared with us.
All accommodation was fabulous. My Nature Resort was a great place to acclimatise. Gaya Island accommodation was potentially the best but Tabin was also lovely as we were right in the jungle by the river – great views, front and back, and amazing waking up to the sounds of the jungle.
Booked our holiday through Odyssey World which was great value, staff really friendly, great local knowledge and they went out of their way to help us. Everything went smoothly, drivers always waiting for us to transfer to next accommodation, and were happy to stop if they or we spotted some wildlife. Internal flights very cheap and efficient. All of the accommodation was lovely and exceeded our expectations.
Aimee provided lots of relevant information and local tips. Ginnie and Aimee both quick to respond when we needed changes to pick up times when we were in Borneo.
Aimee was extremely knowledgeable about Borneo and very patient with us when we kept modifying our itinerary. Also responded very quickly when there was a mix up regarding date of arrival (my mistake). And changed pick up time for Gaya Island.
Would definitely book through them again.

A fabulous two weeks in Namibia – March 2026
The whole trip was fabulous but highlights were sleeping under the stars at Dune star lodge, climbing Dune 45 at Sossusvlei and driving along the beach and over the dunes near Walvis Bay. We also loved the Namibian people who were all so friendly and helpful. Our wildlife viewing was also wonderful.
We found all our accommodation was very comfortable and we liked that every lodge was very different in style and surroundings. Our upgraded lodge at Onguma was lovely, especially watching the animals at the waterhole. In fact Hotel Thule exceeded our expectations as it had a real family feel to it, it was comfortable and well run with great food and a stunning terrace…
Madri was enthusiastic and very proactive, both during the planning and booking process and while we were there. The documents were accurate and informative.
Odyssey World helped us plan a fabulous two weeks driving in Namibia. The whole trip was well planned and there were no hiccups at all. An excellent company to travel with!

An amazing wildlife experience in Borneo – March 2026
Seeing the wildlife was the highlight and the main reason for going to Borneo. All accommodation was excellent. Danum Valley exceeded expectations and our guide was amazing! He was the main reason for our most memorable experience when he took the two of us out early in the morning to find Kate the Orangutan. To see her where she was meant to be was quite emotional.
Felicia was exceptional. She completely understood what we were looking for and with her knowledge gave me the confidence to do things that I would not have otherwise done
We’re very likely to travel with Odyssey World again. Next time either African continent or somewhere for whale watching maybe the Azores.
Michele Ramsay
An amazingly scenic experience in New Zealand – March 2026
We had an amazing time in New Zealand. Everything went perfectly. Driving in New Zealand is so much easier than UK and what with the beautiful scenery as well.
Hotels were just amazing; all were within walking distance to towns so we could walk to restaurants in the evening if we wanted to.
We did get a bit wet at the start of our trip (on the way up to the North Islands in particular), and we also had a few detours because of landslides, but to be honest, that just added to the experiences.
The North Island is so lovely, but when we got to the South Island, we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. In fact, we did end up going the wrong way a couple of times as we were so in awe of the spectacular scenery…
We saw and experienced so much that in fact we are still talking about it now. ONE of our highlights of this trip, if we had to choose one, was Milford Sound Cruise (even though it was a long trip to get there)!

So many memorable moments in Borneo & Singapore – March 2026
We had so many memorable moments including flying squirrels, elephants crocs, orangutans, red leaf monkeys, and millions of swifts at the caves near Kinabatangan Lodge. We greatly enjoyed Singapore too.
Loved Bungaraya – room lovely and large bath a bonus, the grounds were beautiful, staff lovely, and food very good. We loved Abai, and our room at Kingabatangan Lodge had three huge windows, which made it great for spotting wildlife. Danum Valley was also lovely.
All accommodation served very good food and all staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Aimee was always so helpful and patiently answered all of our queries.

A top notch adventure in Bali – March 2026
Loved the culture of Bali! My guide Samu was wonderful – he taught me so much! Thank you to my driver Endra who got me safely around the island.
Awatara Resort was great – comfortable room; staff wonderful. Shout out to the young man in dining! The Katamaran Resort on Lombok was GORGEOUS! I was treated like a queen. Shout out to DWI in the dining and the guy at the front desk who helped me with my room. Discova on Bali was also top notch.
Special thank you to Caroline who booked two trips for me (Jordan and Bali/Lombok) – she was so patient as I kept changing my mind but ultimately curated wonderful trips for me.

A 5-star trip to Thailand – February 2026
All settings and activities were fun and varied. Really well thought out tour suiting my needs and requests. 5 stars! Thanks Caroline for sorting everything!

A wonderful trip to Costa Rica & Panama – February 2026
Thanks for a wonderful trip. Bev could not have been happier with her birthday celebrations. Everything went really well. Thanks again for your input in us choosing this trip and for putting it together.
Your local agents in Costa Rica and here in Panama have been excellent. All drivers and guides have been superb and we have learned a lot. The transfers have been good and the excursions really enjoyable.
Guides were very knowledgeable and informative especially during the night walk. The room at the lodge was probably the best of all – very comfortable, large and the terrace was large and had great views over the sea and the large iguanas frolicking just below. Service and housekeeping was excellent including the nightly delivery of chocolate. The food was good and varied. The lodge was a great introduction to Costa Rica and enabled us to settle in and recover from the flights.
Overall, your agents, drivers and guides in both countries were excellent and kept in touch through WhatsApp.

One highlight after another in Australia – February 2026
Whenever (only like three times during our 2.5 month travels, because everything was really perfectly organized) we needed additional support, Odyssey World was there for us, helping personally and professionally.
Caroline was incredible! We planned and replanned our trip over two years and Caroline was always there for us, giving us new ideas, listening to our ideas and together we defined the for-us-perfect trip. Caroline was incredible in her patience and in her ability to truly understand what we were looking for. When we were lost in options or sometimes overthinking it, Caroline beautifully supported us in finding the right path for us again (literally the right next stop or the right accommodation for us).
The whole trip was one highlight after the other, really. Our closest friends accompanied us on FindPenguins and again and again they wrote: “how did you plan this, your trip ‘s one highlight after the other.”
Accommodations were incredible. Expectations absolutely exceeded: Como in Perth, Longitude 131;
Caroline was the absolute best that could have happened to us; our 2.5month trip was our 25th wedding anniversary honeymoon; Caroline was incredible in finding out what we really wanted, what was important for us how we felt comfortable travelling and she patiently replanned and replanned our trip again and again (we planned over the course of 2 years). With the expert network of Odyssey World she was able to shape and realize a truly amazing and once in a lifetime trip; during the trip we so often toasted to her because the trip was truly one highlight after the other!
Thank you Caroline again! And Odyssey World for making this trip happen!

A fantastic gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda & Rwanda – February 2026
Gorilla trekking in Uganda – beyond incredible. We had the full range of experience from thick jungle hiking to comfortable trail. We saw babies and silverbacks and had such close encounters with the animals. One even walked past Dad and touched his leg as they went by!
Buhoma Lodge was superb. The service from staff was so attentive and the setting beautiful. The big windows in the lodge gave us amazing views and the jungle sounds were so relaxing.
The guide from wild frontiers (Ham) was fantastic. Everything was so smooth and he organised for us to go to the Batwa Village too. He was exceptional. 5 stars!

An Omani adventure replete with highlights – January 2026
Musandam was a highlight – it was great to drive there from Dubai. We found the geology interesting and the Dhow cruise on the fjords was also a highlight. Seeing turtles at Ras al Jinz beach also – saw them laying eggs and digging and going back into the sea, plus a baby!
All the accommodation was comfortable, and Caroline was extremely helpful and answered queries very quickly.

A stunning trip to Borneo – January 2026
The wildlife in Sabah was absolutely stunning and we saw much more than we expected. The river trips and night walks were especially exciting. Our guide, Abbas, from SI Tours was fantastic and made our trip the best possible. He deserves recognition for his attention, reliability and effort to give us the best wildlife opportunities and knowledge.
All the accommodation was excellent. The lodges in Sabah were gorgeous and it was so exciting staying on the river. The Horizon Hotel in Kota Kinabalu was very good. The most luxurious place was Gaya Island Resort, of course. A real 5-star experience, with outstanding food and service.

An action-packed Borneo adventure – November 2025
Our highlights were definitely seeing so many orangutans in the wild! We managed to see mummy and babies at the Rainforest Discovery Centre in the wild and several at Danum Valley; some pretty close to us!
Climbing Mount Kinabalu was pretty memorable too, and although we didn’t get much of a view at the top due to weather and we were affected by altitude sickness, the climb was really worth it and the guide was absolutely fantastic! It was much more challenging than we expected!
All the accommodations were brilliant! We had quite a variety but even the lodgings at base camp of Mount Kinabalu were nicer than we expected. My Nature Resort was actually a lot nicer than we expected; we had a lovely balcony and the beds in all the lodges were very comfortable. Danum Valley Rainforest lodge was really beautiful, particularly the views from our balcony and the environment was so beautiful!
I can see how it benefitted local people from a tourism point of view, providing good jobs for people. All the lodges seem invested in reducing environmental impact where they could and conservation was definitely supported.
Our advice to other travellers? It will be a packed itinerary and trip and I wouldn’t say particularly relaxing, so we loved our 3 days on Gaya Island at the end to fully relax after a fun-packed trip and quite a few early mornings! Be prepared for a busy holiday! Everything is run very smoothly and you really don’t have to worry about any logistics, so don’t stress too much about that! If you are keen on seeing wildlife, a good combination of river and jungle trips really maximises your chances.
Our trip to Borneo was booked to be a once in a lifetime trip so we could experience all the fantastic wildlife Borneo has to offer, particularly the orangutans. Odyssey World gave us the perfect itinerary which ticked all our boxes, and more, and the whole trip ran extremely smoothly! We were so surprised how easy and on time ever single transfer was, and we moved around a lot! Thank you for planning an amazing trip for us and allowing us to experience this beautiful country in so many interesting ways!

Amazing wildlife moments in Borneo – October 2025
It’s hard to pick out one highlight as we had so many amazing wildlife moments! The trip by longboat to the rainforest lodge in Batang Ai, where we saw an orangutan in the wild, was amazing. And we loved our time along the Kinabatangan river which was so rich in wildlife spotting opportunities, including elephants, owls, crocodiles, monkeys and hornbills.
The rainforest lodge in Batang Ai was directly benefitting the local community. I also felt that by supporting the tourism industry we were helping to prevent more precious rainforest being cleared for oil palms.
Overall, it was excellent. It exceeded expectations overall and all the arrangements went very smoothly. Also, as a vegetarian I felt very well looked after.

Exploring the majesty of Machu Picchu – October 2025
We asked for a trip to Peru with the highlight being Machu Picchu. This was very well organised by Oddyssey World in conjunction with Metropolitan Touring in Peru.
The hotels were good – both Marriott hotels were very good, spacious and comfortable with good service.
Our guides were excellent, both the supplier and Odyssey World provided excellent service throughout and were a pleasure to deal with.

A memorable experience in pristine Namibia – October 2025
Our highlights were the scenery in Namibia, the pristine environment, and the range of wildlife. It’s hard to think that we will ever travel anywhere else where there will be such a wide variety of wildlife in such numbers in so natural and pristine a setting.
Accommodation was all very good – some were clearly chosen for their excellent location, so close to wildlife. Sossusvlei Lodge exceeded our expectations, as did Oguma Bush Camp. The latter was our favourite, where the emphasis was on a peaceful, relaxing ambience, and the staff were delightful.
Go to Namibia – you will have a memorable experience. It’s a wonderful country which you have to see!

An adventure in Jordan’s highlights – October 2025
Petra was a highlight, and Wadi Rum was also amazing!
Mövenpick was lovely albeit overwhelming at times. Petra Guest House would have to be my favourite.
Caroline did an amazing job customising everything for me. I’ve already booked Bali with Odyssey World.

A hair-raising trip to Oman – October 2025
Hair-raising trip up the mountains in Jabal Akhdar and stunning views at the top. I enjoyed the cultural aspect of the trip – I added a visit to Bait al Safar in Al Hamra which guide was happy to accommodate. Our guide was very friendly and flexible with the itinerary and introduced us to the delights of Karak tea along the way.
Accommodation was very good. The View provided amazing views. Given the limitations of what was on offer we were very pleased although Juweira Boutique Hotel not really my kind of place (incredible sized rooms blew us away though). No disappointments.
Having agreed a trip to the goat market at Nizwa I failed to double check our final itinerary thoroughly and it had been omitted. A quick call to your office and this was remedied with the agents in Oman. As advised, our guide in Muscat was very flexible and prepared to amend the itinerary to our wishes.
Always speedy communication from Felicia and colleagues and specific queries addressed. Another great experience with your company. Fantastic communication and attention to our requirements. Thoroughly recommended!

Absolutely a 5 star trip to Borneo – October 2025
We were thrilled with the number of creatures we were fortunate to see in the wild – the treks/river cruises with the guides were amazing.
Be prepared to take advantage of everything that is on offer – which will mean getting up early and going out after sunset.
Lodges were staffed by local people – food was locally sourced – solar panels were used where possible – plentiful water supplied daily – we loved having lunch in the local village and could see how that benefitted the families.
This was absolutely 5 stars. Everyone was so welcoming, helpful, polite, friendly – it was superb!
We were given lots of information prior to the trip and then more detailed information on arrival. Felicia was excellent and responded to our requests making changes to match what we wanted to do
It would be difficult to pick out just one highlight as we had so many. Seeing orangutan in the wild, watching proboscis monkeys, having lunch in the home of a local villager, seeing a pygmy elephant enjoying dinner by the river, the excellent food throughout, getting to know guides… so many highlights!
Borneo Rainforest Lodge is excellent – excellent food, excellent staff.
Kinabatangan River Lodge – accommodation a bit more basic – but we loved the sarongs to be worn for dinner and the river cruise was excellent.
Abai River lodge – superb river cruises at sunrise and sunset and breakfast in the rainforest while watching the proboscis monkeys swinging through the trees.
My Nature Resort – lovely accommodation – enjoyed relaxing by the pool.
Gaya Island Resort – a very relaxed end to our trip – the Japanese Restaurant is superb!
Our trip was excellent throughout. All the travelling was seamless. The guides and drivers were so lovely and shared so much information. Our wildlife experiences were far above what we had imagined – we felt very fortunate to have seen so much.
I would absolutely recommend Borneo as a destination and Odyssey World as a travel company.

A flawless group trip to Borneo – October 2025
Mark:
I wanted to say thank you for organising our incredible trip to Borneo.
We were lucky enough to see the Borneo Big 5 which made it even more special.
Our guide Sonnie was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I will always remember those boat cruises down the Kinabatangan River, especially the morning ones where Sonnie would make us a cup of coffee and give us cake!
Everything was scheduled flawlessly, meaning that we never had to worry about logistics.
All of us enjoyed staying at the lodges in Sepilok, Abai and Kinabatangan. Every person we met was friendly and the food was plentiful, delicious and authentic.
Safety was something I was worried about before we started the trip, but I needn’t have worried because I felt I was in good hands and could truly enjoy.
I have attached some photos from our trip, and I look forward to travelling with Odyssey again in future!
Steven & Rachel:
We really enjoyed our time in Borneo, especially how seamless and well organised everything was, from the timely and efficient transport pickups to the well-balanced and fun activities we did every day. We were able to see a lot of things whilst also having time to rest or do our own thing. The accommodations were comfortable and had all the essential amenities. The hospitality was amazing throughout and our tour guides were all exceptional. I would personally recommend this programme to anyone interested in visiting Borneo. The opportunity to see the wild animals in their natural habitat is something I will cherish forever.
James & Maria:
First of all thank you for planning this holiday in so much detail. Personally it was an amazing experience throughout.
The service received at all lodges (especially those managed by SI Tours) were incredible. From the drivers, our amazing guide (Sonny) to all the staff working in the resorts, they were all great, friendly and helpful at all times.
I really enjoyed the visits to both the orangutan and sun bear centres. The river cruises were great as well and we managed to see different wildlife such as hornbills, elephants, crocodiles etc. which was a dream come true for me. The turtle island visit was also a great experience and witnessing a turtle lay eggs and newborn turtles going in the sea for the very first time was just breathtaking.
We couldn’t have finished the holiday on a better note than our stay at the Gaya Island Resort! It was all amazing, from the rooms to the pool and food service. We felt pampered and extremely well cared for during our stay.
I honestly find it difficult to find things that I didn’t like. It all felt like an adventure, even in basic accommodations like we had on the Turtle Island. The itinerary was well planned, lodges had great facilities and staff were exceptional.
Thank you for making this experience memorable.

A wonderful, eye-opening trip to Vietnam – October 2025
Felicia really listened to our requirements and helped us to plan a fantastic holiday.
The app was brilliant, guiding us through the itinerary and having all the other documents there, the flight details on the page when we needed them, the reminders to check in etc really made it easy travelling.
Our highlights included Train Street in Vietnam and THEN actually going on the train through train street. The train journey from Hanoi to Hue – little sleep, but WHAT an experience and waking up at sunrise to those views of rice paddies and colourful temples – it was wonderful.
Hoi An – the tailoring and the beach at Hoi An was lovely too. And generally, the guides, the local people all so friendly. And the food – amazing and delicious, we all really enjoyed eating local food every night! Also the lantern festival at Hoi An – boats on the river. Gorgeous!
Accommodation was all fantastic – lovely spacious, clean rooms, well placed to walk in our free time to see the towns. The hotel in Hoi An was probably the best – lovely hotel but the staff were amazing – they really walk the talk, and worked in every way to make us feel so welcome and looked after.
Odyssey World are incredible! They have now helped us to plan 2 big family adventures. We have done a lot of independent travel in our time, but when we have only had 2 weeks off and are travelling with the kids, it’s been great to work with Odyssey World who take all the headache out of travelling – from helping to plan the itinerary and the things not to miss, to arranging the ground team – drivers, guides – to organising the tickets and ensuring you are safe and looked after throughout.
Our trip to Vietnam was such an eye-opener and a truly wonderful experience. We travelled by 11 forms of transport, including an overnight train, kayaks, a cruise ship, moped, rickshaw – you name it! A trip to remember and cannot recommend Felicia and the team highly enough.

Outstanding Gorilla Tracking experiences in Uganda & Botswana – September 2025
The trip was an outstanding experience, with everything working seamlessly. We were very impressed by the company’s organization. The people we encountered were beautiful, lovely, happy, and friendly, making us feel safe and welcome throughout our trip.
Chameleon Hill and Buhoma Lodge. Both properties were excellent, well-located, and the staff were great. The food at both lodges was fantastic, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The gorilla tracking experience was absolutely amazing and fantastic. The rangers and guides were very helpful, ensuring that we saw the gorillas clearly. We encountered the Rwigye family in Rushaga sector, saw 10 members, including lots of babies, juveniles, and silverbacks. The vehicles were great and very comfortable.
The forest walk in Bwindi was lovely. We saw lots of birds and had a great time exploring the forest.
The guides, Richard and Nicholas, were incredible and very informative. Nicholas in particular had a great conversation with us about Uganda’s history, making the experience even more educational and enjoyable.
David, our driver in Entebbe, took us to Botanical Gardens, where we had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
Gorilla tracking, the Bwindi Forest walk experience, birdlife, the great conversations with the guides… Overall, we loved every moment!

An incredible experience in Borneo, Singapore & Penang – September 2025
Felicia recently helped us to organise a surprise reunion with our family, who had been travelling in South West Asia for 3 months.
Not knowing much about Borneo, and the fact we were a party of 8 including 3 children, it became obvious we needed some help. So glad we found Felicia at Odyssey World – her knowledge and understanding of what we were looking for was exactly what we needed. She guided us through all the options and came up with a brilliant itinerary. She was patient with all of our questions and requests and always available to offer advice.
Seamless organisation, great accommodation and food. What an incredible experience. Our guide, Jerome, was superb and really pulled out all the stops to find the Big 5. He was extremely knowledgeable and great fun, but professional at all times, and our safety was his number 1 concern – we all loved him!
Faultless from start to finish, I would highly recommend Odyssey. Thanks, Felicia!

A fascinating trip to the land of a thousand hills – September 2025
I have recently returned from a safari to Rwanda, brilliantly organised by Madri of Odyssey World. This was my 3rd trip to Rwanda, a country which I love – the people are so friendly and helpful. This was especially the case of my guide, Niyonshuyi Elyse (Elijah), who went out of his way to make sure everything on the itinerary was achieved, and more. He was really caring and helpful when I wasn’t well for a few days – murakoze Elijah.
Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills, is a beautiful, peaceful, safe and clean country with a fascinating culture. There are many landscapes from mountains and forests to savannahs. During my travels I also saw eucalyptus plantations, rice paddies, tea plantations and lakes to name a few.
The hotels and lodges where I stayed were very nice and the food really good and tasty.
The highlights of my trip for me were in the Volcanoes National Park (in the Virungas mountains). I trekked Mountain Gorillas and saw a small family – a silverback and 2 females, one with a 5 year old youngster and the other with a 5 month old baby. This was my 5th gorilla trek over several years and each one highlights something special – this time seeing the baby suckling from mum. I also did, for the first time, a Golden Monkey trek – the beautifully coloured monkeys did not disappoint. I also visited The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund which was really interesting. Unfortunately I was unable to do a chimp trek as I wasn’t well, but this will be included the next time I visit Rwanda.
I travelled with a friend for whom this was her 1st visit to Rwanda. She enjoyed it so much she is already talking about going back!
I would definitely recommend a trip to Rwanda to experience this beautiful country, the culture, the friendliness of its people and its special wildlife. I am sure you would not be disappointed.

A holiday of a lifetime in Borneo – August 2025
Kiri: I am writing this as we leave KL after such a fantastic holiday. We all throughly enjoyed every aspect. Particular highlights were the SI team in Borneo and our rainforest experience, plus Bunga Raya which was exceptional.
My husband and I are already looking at Dunam Valley next year as we just want more!
Thanks for your time and for organising such a seamless experience for us. We will recommend without hesitation.
Tom: I know Kiri has already written but I just wanted to also say an enormous Thank You from all of us. It was exactly the holiday of a lifetime that we hoped for. Your support, attention and knowledge made a complicated ask so easy for us to achieve. We simply would never have managed this without you and I am hugely grateful to you for that. Everything was pretty much perfect. Everyone loved it and I can’t thank you enough.

Wildlife outside the door in Borneo – August 2025
It was all so wonderful and well planned out. Lots of wildlife spotted, meals enjoyed and time to relax at the end.
Tabin was a bit of a surprise bonus having never been or even heard of it before. Wildlife was literally outside your door, afternoon cakes and amazing gateaux’s for desserts!
Borneo is a gem of a country with a perfect mix of wildlife, culture and beaches. The people are genuinely welcoming, friendly and do their best to accommodate you. Crystal clear seas in which you can snorkel effortlessly at Gaya Islands house reef. Nature trails, river cruises, snorkelling trips are all lead by people who are passionate about their job and their country.
We will return to explore and discover the beauty of the west in the near future.

A successful, wildlife-filled Namibian getaway – August 2025
Madri really knows about Namibia and was able to customise a trip to our needs. The vacation was a huge success.
The most memorable moments of our trips where the stays in the Namib Desert and at Etosha in the Ondili lodges Top quality infrastructure and service as well as the offering. The Leopard track in Okonjima, the Etosha game trips as well as Sandwich bay and the Sosssvlei excursion were all great moments.
Okonjima Lodge was very nice – I would have welcomed the opportunity to stay in the suite had I known it was available. Hotel Heinitzburg and Strand Hotel in Swakopmund were good city options.

Orangutans and gibbons in Borneo – August 2025
After my first couple of quotes with other companies I didn’t think I’d manage to see wild orangutans but you made it possible! We had great views of orangutans in Danum Valley and gibbons in Tabin.
We enjoyed staying at Tabin and the other accommodations were very good. Aimee was able to answer any questions I had leading up to the trip.
5 stars!

A fabulous, wildlife-rich Borneo trip – August 2025
Aimee was brilliant and responsive all the way through the planning and booking and whilst we were away.
There were too many highlights to mention them all, but we loved the wonderful wildlife encounters in Borneo, the turtle hatchery in Kuching, the street food tour in Kuching, and much more.
The majestic in KL was the best accommodation we stayed in.
Aimee was brilliant and responsive all the way through the planning and booking and whilst we were away. She planned a fabulous and varied trip to Borneo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore which did not disappoint. We saw orangutans, Pygmy elephants, proboscis monkeys, fireflies, turtles and kingfishers. We had a fantastic street food tour in Kuching and relaxed on the beach at Gaya Island. It was great value for money and the ground partners in every location were excellent.

Creating lifelong memories at the British & Irish Lions tour to Australia – August 2025
Just a note to say a very heartfelt thanks for, what was, a most amazing trip, tour, adventure, experience & holiday!
Considering the dream started over 6 years ago, [Felicia] has done [herself] and Odyssey World proud!
You managed to take all of our requests and turn them into lifelong memories – so much laughter and smiles! What a perfect group of like-minded people, now friends, drawn together with an amazing itinerary which was custom created for our individual needs.
Wine tours in the most beautiful places, float planes over the Sydney harbour bridge & opera house, superb food recommendations and hotels within walking distance of all the main events.
Perfect flights, Great venue seats, hospitality and organisation, only surpassed by Felicia’s positive energy and support along every step of the trip.
Bucket list experience ticked off in the most emphatic way. Thank you so much and looking forward to what we can do next (when the liver allows)!

A truly wonderful trip to Botswana – June 2025
We’ve just returned from the trip of a lifetime to Victoria Falls and Botswana. Madri put together a fantastic itinerary for us.
We arrived at the splendid Victoria Falls hotel in all its colonial grandeur, to just about see the power of the falls through the spray!
The safari in Botswana was sensational. All the lodges were lovely, the people so friendly, the food so tasty. The game drives and boat trips were brilliant, each day bringing us something different.
We had so many truly memorable wildlife encounters – lions fresh on a kill , cheetahs basking in the sunshine, a leopard coming down from a tree. Hippos in and out of the water, hyenas by the water, crocodiles galore, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, antelopes, colourful birds… the list goes on.
Our final stay on the edge of the Kalahari near the Serengeti was the place for zebra and wildebeest migration gathering – nearly spoiled by a bit of rain , but fortunately it didn’t last and hundreds of them appeared by the waterholes!
All in all a truly wonderful trip that will last forever in our memories.

Everything was brilliant in Borneo – June 2025
Everything was fantastic – all was very clear and easy to find! Our highlights included seeing the orangutans, being in the jungle, all the cruises and tours, and finally relaxing on Gaya island (so basically everything)…
Everything was brilliant, loved everywhere we stayed – only got better and better as we went on! Only wish we could have gone for longer.
Would love to go more places in Asia and Africa so if you can help, we’re definitely going with you guys!
Would just like to say Aimee was fantastic, really felt like a personalised trip and she was great at tailoring it to our tastes. Was a honeymoon we won’t soon forget, and couldn’t recommend the whole team enough. Thanks again!

An unforgettable safari in Botswana – May 2025
The whole trip was unforgettable! The safari was amazing, and we particularly enjoyed Chobe Lodge and the Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe. 5 stars!

The best strawberries ever eaten in Jordan – May 2025
This was a wonderful trip – even better than I had hoped and I had looked forward to visiting Jordan for a long time. The sites were amazing – our visits to Mujib and Wadi Rum were highlights – but the people really made the trip exceptional. Our guide and driver were terrific, whether it was visiting additional sites or stopping to buy strawberries (the best we ever ate!) from a roadside vendor near Ajloun.

Life’s too short not to experience the wonders of Botswana! – May 2025
The game viewing at the lodges was amazing, especially thanks to the quality of the staff involved. The accommodation was brilliant as well.
It was expensive but so worth it. To other travellers: put the experience ahead of the economic jolt. Life’s too short!
All of our guides were very aware of conservation issues, as were the staff in the lodges!
Overall – absolutely fantastic! 5 stars!
Sonya Johinke
A mind-blowing Borneo adventure – May 2025
Turtle Island was mind blowing and we loved it. Tabin Wildlife Reserve was fabulous!
The trip was absolutely amazing! We saw so much and it was great value for money.

An amazing elephant experience in Thailand – May 2025
The elephant experience was amazing! Tubkaak Resort was our favourite. 5 stars – very likely to book again!

An outstanding adventure in Borneo – May 2025
We loved all the places we visited and it is difficult to pick the most memorable as they were so different. The highlights were the nursery at Sepilok orangutan sanctuary, Selingan (Turtle) Island, the proboscis monkeys during the trips on the Kinatabangan River, the bats emerging at dusk in Mulu and the second cave tour (Wind Cave) with swimming in the river. I’ve realised that just about covers the whole itinerary!
Both Aimee and Madri were outstanding with their enthusiasm, patience, ideas, friendliness and speed of communication. I cannot fault either of them.
Accommodation was universally good and as expected. Our guide for Turtle Island, Sepilok and Kinatabangan (Saime) was excellent.
Jo Walker
Plenty of wildlife to see in Borneo – April 2025
The overnight trip to Kinabalu Park was particularly memorable as I saw so many different birds. But every place I stayed had plenty of wildlife to see.
All accommodation was excellent. Sepilok possibly best though of course Shangri La had fantastic facilities but one can’t really compare a wildlife lodge to a resort hotel!
I was very impressed that all arrangements went like clockwork. Every local representative was on schedule and always very friendly and helpful.
The guides, especially at Tabin and Kinabalu where I had dedicated guide for me, were knowledgeable and informative.
David Coustick
A fantastic Borneo experience – April 2025
Danum Valley was excellent – seeing a male orangutan on the boardwalk at the lodge and the coffin trail hike was definitely a highlight, as well as Seeing the Pygmy elephant herd and the Sun Bear Rehabilitation Centres. My Nature Resort and Gaya Island were also wonderful!
Our holiday tour to Borneo was fantastic and exceeded all expectations. We had incredible wildlife sightings, including orangutans, pygmy elephants, and Hornbills. The range of accommodations – from basic lodges to 5-star hotels – were all enjoyable and well-suited to their surroundings. The local people were incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent throughout. Our guides were knowledgeable and attentive, tailoring the experience perfectly for each group. We felt truly well looked after every step of the way. Highly recommended!

Climbing Mount Kinabalu on an unforgettable trip to Borneo – April 2025
Climbing Mount Kinabalu was definitely one of the most memorable experiences for many reasons – both because it was a huge achievement but also a great challenge. Also, both guides we had in Kinabatangan River and Mount Kinabalu were excellent and really made a huge difference to our enjoyment of both trips as they were both really knowledgeable and passionate.
Accommodation was all great including at the river. Gaya Island Resort was excellent with great facilities and service was really wonderful.
Aimee was great in answering our questions which was especially useful as we booked so late and had limited time available. We were really grateful for the speedy responses to our questions both before we left and when in the country, and all of the great user-friendly information!
We booked at very short notice and were really grateful that Odyssey World were so responsive even at the weekend! We also had a few different options to explore which was all done quickly and the way the options were provided via a personalised electronic brochure was really helpful. The tripe itself was also just what we wanted even though we didn’t know it when we booked!

A memory-making holiday in Singapore, Borneo, and Penang – April 2025
Our highlights were the wildlife in the rainforest – especially seeing the pygmy elephants swimming in front of us on the river cruise, orangutans at Sepilok and the Sun Bear Conservation Centre.
All the accommodation was great – Gaya Island stood out for the luxury room, and I enjoyed My Nature Resort, the lodge and its vast balcony.
Aimee was very informative and kept me updated, especially when the flights changed.
Overall, it was a fantastic holiday and great memories were made. Always kept up to date by email for any changes to the holiday, always had our transfers from the airport waiting for us and the guides at the rainforest trips were excellent. It will be hard to beat this holiday. Thank you!

A wonderful trip to Borneo – March 2025
Communication was fantastic – especially considering everything needed changing at the last minute. Everything ran smoothly!
We talked to several consultants throughout the process who were all very helpful but a huge thank you to Felicia for going above and beyond when our trip required last minute moving.
We thoroughly enjoyed the river cruises up and down the Kinabatangan River, as well as our accommodation at My Nature Resort – it felt like we were in the rainforest but still had some home comforts. Incredible experiences!
Thank you all so much for such a wonderful trip! We would definitely use and recommend yourselves in future.

An excellent, 5-star Borneo trip – March 2025
The most exciting part of my holiday was experiencing nature close up – e.g. orangutans, macaques, proboscis monkeys, crocodiles and many bird species!
The whole trip was excellent, great organisation, knowledgeable guides, wonderful lodges and super food – 5 stars!
Our guides and drivers and hotel staff were local people. We also had one lunch in a village which the villagers had prepared. Drinking water could be refilled – so less use of plastic bottles.
Jacqueline Kerr
A wonderful wildlife-filled Costa Rican adventure – March 2025
Seeing so much wildlife was wonderful, but spotting both a puma and a tapir was the highlight!
All accommodation was great but my favourite was at Drake – the cabin was fairly basic but the location was superb!
This was my second private trip with Odyssey World and everything has gone smoothly. I have already booked another safari with [Odyssey World] and in the future I would like to go to Australia and New Zealand!
Odyssey World was extremely useful when helping me plan the trip – Felicia was brilliant! I would highly recommend the company again.
Heather Smith
A bountiful Botswana family adventure – March 2025
We were in Africa for the animals and got to check a lot of amazing ones off our list. My kids especially loved interacting with meerkats and being used as their lookout towers. Seeing lion cubs and hyena pups and so many elephants, zebras and giraffes and being woken up by hippos are all things they’ll never forget.
The commute from Canada to Africa is LONG and you have to be ready for it. We added an extra day with no expectations at the beginning to adjust to the time change and travel fatigue and took a day after our trip to accommodate jet lag and those days were so important for our sanity.
The guides were all local. At Oddballs camp in particular, 2/3 guides walked home at night. At Khwai, they talked about how much the tourism changed their community and helped local conservation efforts. We felt like part of a big family at each of the resorts. We were there during a quieter time of year so there were only a few other groups at each lodge. It was an amazing way to see Africa.
We spent so much time doing the things we love doing. Great time together as a family with very knowledgeable guides and amazing activities. A trip we will talk about for years. Our tour coordinator, Madri, even worked with us to adjust a few things while we were there. Super quick to reply and help with our requests. We were also met at our last airport and given bracelets handmade by local artists and assisted through customs by an Odyssey World representative.

An effusive account of Borneo’s wonder – March 2025
Thank you for organising such a fantastic trip. We loved every minute of it.
Kuala Lumpur was a great start. The transfer from the airport to Sentral Station and The Majestic was so smooth and easy. The Majestic was a lovely hotel to stay in and very well positioned. The food tour with Danny Ng was excellent. He was so interesting and had planned a superb trip taking into account James’s gluten free requirements. He was able to provide great cultural insight into the culture, politics, history and, of course, food of the area. We would highly recommend him.
The itinerary in Borneo was perfect. Everywhere made us feel very welcome and all the staff were so friendly and professional. We were lucky that it was low/shoulder season as it meant that the lodges were not too busy. Our maximum number in a river trip was eight, although most of the time it was four or six of us. Luckily all the people we met were lovely… I’m not a group person, but these worked!
Obviously seeing the orangutans and sun-bears in the sanctuary was special, but seeing the orangutans in the wild was even better.
The guide for the river lodges, Akok, was great and he made every effort to locate animals/birds etc. We saw lots of different monkeys, crocodiles, numerous birds and an orangutan. We left Akok at Kinabatangan River Lodge and were transferred to the Danum Valley office – all very efficient. The Borneo Rainforest Lodge was outstanding. Everything was very well organised and the staff so friendly and professional. Our allocated guide, Gil, was great fun and went out of his way to give us the right experience. The accommodation and food was very good and what an amazing location. We loved it all, including the torrential, tropical rain. We were fortunate in that none of our activities was disrupted by rain, but we were thankful for your advice about walking boots, as it was a bit slippy. We were lucky to see an orangutan mum and baby – baby was just learning how to climb – all a bit nerve wracking although mum didn’t seem worried. Loved the canopy walk too.
Gaya Island Resort was a wonderful place to end our trip in. Again another very professionally run organisation. The staff made us feel so welcome and the restaurant staff made us a special bowl of chicken with ginger and garlic and rice wine – a traditional Sabah dish – we felt very honoured. I think it was because we had tried to learn a few local words (not Malay) and they then wanted to ‘show off’ their culture. The food was excellent (in fact I wonder whether my work trousers will fit tomorrow!). The nature trail at Gaya Island was super – the naturalist who took us out was so interesting. An interesting highlight was the snake in our bath tub! It was a Paradise Flying snake – so pretty. The staff were out very quickly to capture and move it. Our room was brilliant. The couple of days relaxing by the pool/beach was just what was needed.
The transfer to the airport in KK was smooth – thank you for organising it.
So a big thank you to Odyssey World for arranging everything so well. We’ve had a great time.

A wonderful time in Oman – March 2025
Had an absolutely wonderful time. Enjoyed every minute. Everything went perfectly!
The guide was very knowledgeable, the cook and helper could not do enough for me!

An exhilarating birthday experience in South Africa – March 2025
We loved seeing so many animals at very close range e.g. leopards, lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos and hippos, and I mean CLOSE range; 3/4 feet away from the Jeep!
The guide at the first lodge (Jessica?) was absolutely outstanding in terms of her knowledge of animals and the environment generally and her style of explaining/describing facts and information was extremely polished and involving.
Both lodges were good and food was excellent but Nambu stood out – it was very modern and had a wonderful position and food/service was excellent – this lodge exceeded expectations.
Our safari to the Kruger Park, South Africa was a trip for our family of 10 to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday and it was an unforgettable experience thanks to Madri, Odyssey World specialist in African holidays and trips, whose knowledge of safaris was invaluable and proved be very insightful and helpful.
I would recommend Madri and the Odyssey World team who made the holiday a truly memorable trip!
David Page
A highlight-filled Kenyan adventure – February 2025
Our highlights included the sea life, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, the wildlife, the friendliness of the staff at the hotel, and all the accommodations which were so good and certainly met expectations! We would love to do it all again!

A memorable holiday in Oman – January 2025
Everything went extremely well! We loved the landscape and driver/guide’s enjoyment at sharing his knowledge up in the mountains. All accommodation was varied and we enjoyed it all in different ways.
Odyssey World more than met our holiday brief. They couldn’t have done any more to make the holiday to Oman a truly memorable experience

A wholly enjoyable excursion to Thailand & Cambodia – January 2025
The planning for this was a breeze!
I enjoyed everything about Cambodia. There were a couple of folks I need to commend, and please forgive me for spelling mistakes:
Buhn – the restaurant manager at the Borei Resort. Great guy, did everything in his power to ensure a happy experience.
Heim – waiter at the poolside bar at the Borei Resort. Same thing… very friendly, very accommodating.
Rock – the tour guide who took me to the temples in and around Siem Reap. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Just an overall pleasure.
Hands down, our favourite was the Borei Seim Reap. Very much exceeded my expectations.
The Odyssey Team was always available and responsive. I’m very pleased with the outcome of our trip!

Incredible new experiences in Sri Lanka – December 2024
Our holiday was packed with new experiences and our Guide Niro was an absolute gentleman. He looked after us and ensured we had a great experience with lots of lovely touches throughout our trip. We loved the train ride from Kandy to Ella, Niro organised for us to go into the signals box where I got to change the tracks! Yala was lovely and we saw some beautiful birds and elephants. We also loved Weligama and the opportunity to relax by the beach.
Our accommodation was wonderful. EKHO IN Ella was our favourite hotel. We had Christmas Eve here and the my created the most amazing evening of fun, music, food to die for, fireworks and even father Christmas made an appearance x it made our Christmas as we were missing home.
We really would like a big thank you sent to our driver Niro and make sure that his employers know how grateful we were. He was the best host we could have had and he made our trip wonderful.

A dream come true in Botswana – November 2024
I wanted to tell you that it was one of the most beautiful trips of my life. Thank you for everything you [Madri] did to make this happen.
Everything was perfect. I can’t even tell you how amazing the Bush staff were but I really wish I could have had them on all my trips because they were wonderful. I hope one day to return to the area, perhaps with something different, and find the six unforgettable, super nice and professional people.
You managed to make a dream come true just as I had imagined it and I wanted to thank you for this.

A fabulous trip to Namibia – November 2024
My partner and I had a fabulous trip to Namibia.
We did a huge number of kilometres but with a few audio books on board and amazing scenery the hours whiled by! We loved Fish River Lodge, and Okonjima where we had a wonderful leopard safari.
All in all, we were given fabulous service and given warm friendly reception.

A relaxing, seal-spotting Namibian trip – October 2024
I just wanted to thank Odyssey World for organising our recent trip to Namibia. We had a wonderful trip and all the arrangements went like clockwork. Quite how you managed to organise it from your part of the world I don’t know, (the advent of the electronic age I guess), but all the arrangements were spot-on and we encountered no problems.
We had a wonderful relaxed day driving up to Cape Cross, spending about 3 hours photographing the seals! Perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea, but I was in my element!
On route to Damaraland we did see Himba people, there was no need to consider whether we had the time to visit the Himba village as we saw Himba settlements on route and we actually stopped and were shown around one of them and photographed the Himba people.
The roads were so empty and tarmac all the way so we were able to keep up a good speed, and could have had breakfast before we left.
All of the garages, lodges, restaurants etc., had card machines and we encountered no problems using the Currensea card.
Ian & Kate Macfadyen
Smooth and stress-free Botswana safari – October 2024
This was our first safari and will most certainly do another. Everything went so smoothly and stress-free. All accommodation exceeded our expectations. Everything was so well organised!
I would highly recommend Odyssey World to anyone wanting a unique experience.

A bucket list trip to Borneo – September 2024
Our top highlight was the Danum Valley – seeing wild orangutans and gibbons was absolutely incredible! Mike and I love the outdoors and love being immersed in nature and we chose Borneo because of its incredible wildlife and Danum Valley definitely delivered this. Closely followed by Tabin Nature Reserve which was beautiful.
It’s been on our bucket list for a while and we loved Borneo! We felt really immersed in the rainforest and the conservation that goes on there, our guide Darrell was excellent. He was really attentive and made an effort to make our experience memorable.
Felicia was extremely helpful and she curated our trip and was really attentive and listened to what we wanted and was very accommodating to our requirements and what we wanted out of our trip and she did her upmost to make this a trip of a life time (our honeymoon) which we enjoyed thoroughly.

A Borneo trip that was out of this world! – September 2024
Our highlights were the night time river cruises and Turtle Island when a number of the hatchlings spontaneously burst out of the sand next to our towels on the beach.
All accommodation was very good but the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur was out of this world – worth the journey just for that!
All the communication was great – a huge thanks to Felicia and Ginnie for sorting out flight issues so promptly and professionally! Having enjoyed such a well organised trip I have total confidence in your company and would thoroughly recommend to others.
Gary Rooney
A spectacular Namibian adventure – August 2024
Everything was laid out very clearly and comprehensively. Our travel consultant was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic
Every site visited was amazing. Some of the hotels were truly spectacular. All accommodation was good but some of incredible – Fish River Canyon, Damarland, both Ka’naan resorts
We were really impressed with the service. The car rental company were also excellent and I would thoroughly recommend.

A stunning holiday in Namibia – August 2024
We loved it all! The greatest gift was the huge variety of experiences we had, right down to the stunning rhino drive on our last evening.
All the accommodations were fantastic! We loved the excitement of the amazingly comfortable Camping2Go tents… and the endless delicious dinner in all the lodges.
We were really delighted with the one change we made to the itinerary beforehand: changing two nights in Swakopmund to two nights in Twfelfontein. There is so much to do in that area. We were SO glad Madri managed to get us into the Desert Camp and into Twyfelfontein Country Lodge.
From the very beginning of me contacting Odyssey World, the agent could not have been more helpful. She presented me with an array of clear options. She listened carefully to my questions and particular interests and could not have been quicker in coming up with excellent suggestions. She was unfailingly cheerful and helpful in all our subsequent communications and, when there was a last minute hiccup on my end, I dearly appreciated her great kindness and efficiency in coming up with a perfect solution.
My son and I had a stunning holiday. We loved every single minute. The itinerary and accommodation could not have been better. In the end, we had to opt not to self-drive and Odyssey World organised a fantastic driver/guide whose expertise added immeasurably to our holiday.

The trip of a lifetime in Borneo – August 2024
There are toooooo many highlights to list as it was truly the most remarkable experience of my life, but my favourite experiences were probably:
- Watching two Pygmy Elephants cross the river in front of our boat near Kinabatangan.
- Listening to the plethora of nocturnal creatures in the jungle, whilst sipping wine on my deck at MY Nature Resort.
- Dancing with the Rungus tribe at the longhouse.
- Finding a family of Probiscus monkeys when on one of our lone walks on the jungle boardwalks at Abai. We sat undisturbed with them for 20 mins.
The accommodations were amazing too. The Majestic is sublimely rooted in history – we adored it! MY Nature Resort was my favourite of the jungle lodges as the manager was warm and welcoming (and phenomenally organised). Abai and Kinabatangan far outweighed my expectations based upon where they both are (loved the jungle boardwalk at Abai and the Sarongs for dinner at Kinabatangan). Horizon Hotel was very luxurious, with a fantastic view. Gaya Island was LUXURY personified – an amazing resort with amazing conservation projects and incredibly welcoming staff.
Felicia listened very diligently to our brief and budget, understanding our wiggle room incredibly well and knowing what our must haves were. We hadn’t considered the northern tip of Borneo but absolutely loved it so it was very well recommended and we were really pleased that Felicia managed to get us a stay in a longhouse, it was an amazing experience. She asked all of the correct questions to put together an amazing itinerary and I cannot thank Odyssey World enough for the package they put together for us. It truly was the trip of a lifetime.

A wildlife-filled Tanzania trip – August 2024
Everything went very well. Accommodation was excellent. Our highlights included seeing the Big 5, plus we were really impressed with the Serena Lodges. The staff were all really friendly.
5 stars!

A 5-star Kenyan experience – August 2024
Our safaris were incredibly special (and we felt our guides acted responsibly around the animals and were sensitive to their behaviours) and Zanzibar has some of the most beautiful beaches I have seen.
We have had an absolutely wonderful time and everything exceeded our expectations. Simba Safaris were great – they looked after us and the logistics worked well on the mainland and Zanzibar (even when flights changed etc).
A special mention for Pongwe Beach Hotel and squeezing us in! It’s such a special place and the team were great. We are already planning when and how we can come back.
Thanks for all your hard work and for giving us such a wonderful holiday. Absolutely five stars! Everything worked beautifully – even when flights changed at short notice. We felt very looked after.
Victoria Challacombe & Tom Soper
A wonderful Bornean excursion – August 2024
Our highlights included seeing orangutans and exploring the nature of Borneo. All the accommodations were great – Gaya Island Resort was extremely good, particularly as a place I wouldn’t have picked myself.
5 stars!

A magical experience Borneo – July 2024
We’ve just returned home this morning from our amazing trip to Borneo and I wanted to thank you.
The whole experience was magical, made all the better by the fact every detail was really well organised and I was able to follow the itinerary easily. The guides, without exception were knowledgeable and friendly.
There were too many highlights to choose from – the wildlife was my main reason for choosing Borneo and it didn’t disappoint, the knowledge of the guides made it even more special and we were very happy with the accommodations. Gaya Island Resort felt very luxurious – it was spacious and clean.
Thank you to Felicia and the team for putting together our trip of a lifetime, will definitely be recommending Odyssey World to my family and friends!

Spotting orangutans in Borneo – June 2024
Thank you so much to Odyssey World for creating the perfect itinerary for our group. We all had such a great time and we were fortunate enough to see two Orangutans in the wild and whilst at Sepilok we saw one of the Organutans we sponsored when we first booked our holiday!
All the accommodation was fantastic, the best place was Gaya Island resort closely followed by Tabin Wildlife Reserve.
A special thanks to Felicia for building the perfect itinerary for our group. We loved every aspect of our trip and the local guides were very informative.
Belinda Sinopoli
Wonderful Namibia under the stars – May 2024
Onguma Game Reserve was out of this world. The accommodation and setting, service, food, water level hide were all first rate.
Arriving at Vingerklip accommodation and seeing the view from the balcony and the lovely cactus gardens was pretty amazing, and we were lucky enough to dine outside there around the fire pit.
Dune Star Dessert Lodge was lovely under the stars, if a little windy.
We had Odyssey World recommended by a friend, and thanks to them listening to our needs and hopes, we had an absolutely amazing holiday. Madri was always enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. Many of the places we stayed exceeded our expectations and the friendliness of the Namibian people was amazing. The country is beautiful and very changeable in scenery.
We will 100% go back, and will very happily recommend Odyssey World to others!

A dramatically beautiful honeymoon in Namibia – May 2024
I’d heard from multiple people that Namibia was the most beautiful place they’d ever been, and it still exceeded expectations! Every lodge was beautiful, we were always excited to see where we would be staying next! Desert Quiver Camp’s pool overlooking the desert is something I’ll be talking about for months, as well as almost running into an oryx on our hike up the sand dunes of the Namib!
Madri worked with our budget, our limited vacation time & windows, and our flight changes to craft a custom itinerary that worked perfectly for us, including booking accommodations and a driver for our overnight layover in Cape Town (best layover we’ve ever had!)
Thanks to all your planning, our honeymoon was as stress-free as showing up at the airport and picking up a roadmap. Each landscape was more dramatic than the last, and experiencing it as just the two of us (instead of a big tour) made it all the more special. Thank you so much especially to Madri & all her planning around our tight timetable and budget!

A trip of highlights in Vietnam and Cambodia – May 2024
One highlight is so difficult to choose from the many: Halong Bay cruise, Hai-An Lanterns, Free the Bears Sanctuart, and Angkor Wat all immediately come to mind!
The accommodation was all great but if I had to choose one then the Baitong Hotel – Phnom Penh was amazing. The swimming pools were just what we needed after being out in 39 – 40 degrees celsius. The staff there were very welcoming and helpful too.
We have travelled with Odyssey twice before and have had wonderful trips and this latest one truly surpassed expectations!

A quaint and beautiful Bornean experience – April 2024
Our highlights were on the River Kinabatangan – wildlife watching from the boat with a really well informed local guide – amazing! I also loved Turtle Island. That was a completely new experience for me.
Some of the accommodation was luxury, some city-based, some local. Personally, I preferred the local accommodation. At Abai, the lodge was fabulous. Really quaint and beautiful. Food was also good.
I would also emphasise the need for binoculars – it’s a totally different experience if you have pairs of binoculars!
Overall it was an excellent, well-balanced itinerary, including wildlife, islands and cities. I would highly recommend.
Nikki Bache
A rare and memorable experience in Costa Rica – April 2024
We loved the beaches at Manuel Antonio, seeing all the different animals, as well as zip lining and white water rafting! It’s hard to choose one highlight; all the places had such different qualities.
All the hotels were better than we expected. I really liked Tortuguero, getting a boat to the hotel complex was a great start to the holiday – rooms were really nice! In La Fortuna, the volcano was cloud free (which is apparently quite rare). Our hotel room at Arenal Manoa faced the volcano which was the equivalent to a sea view!
The itinerary/paperwork was very good. We were met by Franz, our guide, and kept in touch throughout the holiday with any queries or changes to the itinerary. It was good to know if there was a problem, he was at hand, which on a busy holiday like this (with two kids) is one less worry!
My wife kept in touch with Felicia who was very good and knowledgeable, which helped a lot! The holiday fit the brief I asked for, if not better!
We just want to say a big thanks to Odyssey World for organising a very memorable holiday for the family – the kids loved it just as much as we did!
Gareth McManus
A sunset-filled dream trip to Borneo – April 2024
The Danum Valley was magnificent. We wish we could have stayed a few more days. The resort was amazing as were the staff. We weren’t lucky enough to see elephants or orangutans but who can control the rainforest. We were lucky enough to see a western tarsier and a slow loris on a night walk. That said, macaque were everywhere – sometimes fun, sometimes aggressive, but always watchable. Thankfully, we had very few encounters with leeches and none were attached to us.
In general, the accommodation was way above expectations. It is difficult to pinpoint one particular hotel as they were all so different. If I have to pick one, it would be the Shangri-La Tarjung Aru Resort and Spa. The seaview rooms were great, food was exceptional with a huge choice from at least four different cultures, and the sunset bar tipped it. It was a gem!!!!! Sunsets were amazing everywhere but the location of the bar was second to none. Saying that The Danum Valley Rainforest Lodge was incredible and the rooms at the Gaya Island Resort really were the best by far.
I must say that all the guides were knowledgable and spoke great English. But particular attention must be paid to Nexter in Danum Valley and I believe Arun on the River trip. Both were outstanding. And Felicia was always very fast, courteous and answered any questions we may have had.

A wonderful adventure in Jordan – March 2024
The whole holiday was absolutely wonderful but Jerash, Petra and Wadi Rum stand out as fantastic experiences.
Our driver, who was excellent, was a local man. We used local guides, local hotels and local restaurants throughout our stay.
It was an absolute holiday of a lifetime and far exceeded our expectations. Jordan is a wonderfully interesting, culturally diverse, safe, peaceful and stunningly beautiful country!

A trip of highlights in the Maldives – March 2024
Our entire itinerary was the highlight; we only wish we could’ve stayed two days longer!
Our accommodation was exceptional. Genuine warm service, small and intimate, everything very high quality, everything generous and food exceptional.
We loved the personal service that we get from Felicia and the single point of contact. She is very ‘on the ball’ and professional.

A smooth and enjoyable Borneo excursion – March 2024
Everything went very smoothly and we enjoyed everything we had arranged. Seeing an orangutan in the wild for several minutes on a trip along the Kinabatangan River was a highlight, as well as the first late afternoon cruise.
We enjoyed all of our accommodation. Selignan was actually better than I had expected as I was not expecting air conditioning. I also had reservations that it might be a ‘scrum’ to see the turtles but people were very respectful. All guides were friendly, spoke good English and went out of their way to show us animals and answer questions. I appreciated the rooms at My Nature Resort and Gaya. Hyatt Centrica at KK has lovely roof top bar and friendly and helpful staff. With the exception of KK, I was surprised at how quiet the lodges were given it was not low season.
We had a fantastic time, virtually everything went as described. Guides were great and really went out of their way to try and show us things. Everyone we encountered was friendly. I was impressed by how much people seemed to value the environment and conservation and the sensitivities regarding the local indigenous people.

An amazing adventure in Jordan – March 2024
Petra and Wadi Rum were amazing. All the food was excellent. Our driver guide, Khaled, was fantastic.
Had a great time in all accommodations, Feynan Ecolodge was brilliant. Would happily return to all!
Everything was handled perfectly with excellent communication from Felicia and the team.

An amazing 40th birthday in Borneo – March 2024
The trip was wonderful! The local people in Malaysian Borneo were so welcoming and friendly and the various staff and guides could not do enough for you!
Our highlights were seeing wild orangutans on the Riverside, a beautiful evening firefly tour and being so lucky to find a beautiful little hatching turtle on Selingan Beach during the daytime and helping it to the sea!
Felicia was amazing from start to finish! Very helpful with all of my queries, kept in touch before and during the holiday and accommodated all of my requests to tailor our trip.
The accommodations were all 5 star and the staff and guides at each lodge were so accommodating and attentive! Borneo Rainforest Lodge was wonderful – and with being a vegetarian I could not fault the amazing food! Abai Jungle Lodge was also fabulous mainly due to the amazing staff! Special shout-out to our wonderful guides Rose and Edmundo!
We also mentioned that the trip had been booked for a 40th birthday celebration and we were greeted with a birthday cake at 3 different lodges! An absolutely beautiful trip that we would highly recommend and would do again in a heartbeat!

Wowed by a whirlwind trip to Borneo – March 2024
‘Borneo on a Shoestring’ was the only organised part of our 6 week journey through Malaysia. We absolutely loved it, especially seeking out wildlife on the sunset and sunrise river cruises. Seeing orangutans, proboscis monkeys, crocs, exotic birds and a wide range of other wildlife was a brilliant experience.
The accommodation far exceeded our expectations, and the included meals were delicious. We were really wowed by our Gaya Island accommodation but we also thought the My Nature Resort Lodge was wonderful too.
My husband and I had a dedicated guide, Ron, who was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and fun company.

A memorable adventure in Borneo – March 2024
The most memorable moment was definitely seeing wild orangutans!
Loved everywhere we stayed. All accommodation was amazing. Gaya Island Resort exceeded our expectations.
Would just like to say our trip was very well organised. We are two travellers with specific dietary requirements, the various accommodations we stayed in went out of their way to cater for us which was extremely appreciated!

An action-packed Borneo adventure – February 2024
Overall, the trip was a definite success. KL was really cool and we were sad that we could not spend more time there. The highlights of the trip were the Orangutan sanctuary and Selingan Island. These were really impressive.
Thank you for putting so much time into our final two nights in KK, this was amazing. The students loved the night market especially trying to barter with the stall holders for cheaper prices, the Island day was incredible – I have never had a picnic cooked by private chefs and the resort was a fantastic way to wind down. We even saw sword fish which was an amazing surprise.
Thank you again for all of your hard work here.
James, school trip to Borneo
A consistently fun trip to Oman – February 2024
Thank you Odyssey World for organising the fabulous trip in Oman for the Schagenteit group. We had consistent fun for 14 days in Oman with wonderful guides on the dhow, the mountains, the desert and the cities. Kept informed and gained a large amount of new information about a wonderful country we knew very little about. Never had time to get bored.

An amazing holiday in Oman and Jordan – February 2024
Petra and Wadi Rum were definitely our highlights of Jordan! Oman was just amazing, our itinerary was great – loved every bit of it! The variety and exotic nature of Oman and Jordan were so wonderful. All accommodation was great as well.
Felicia really did an amazing job putting our holiday together! Thank you Odyssey World for arranging a superb itinerary for us. The trip was tremendously enjoyed and appreciated by all.

A circus of wildlife in Borneo – February 2024
We saw two orangutans in the wild, the flying squirrels were amazing. A band of proboscis monkeys put on a show jumping from tree to tree. It was like a circus.
Considering its location, the Borneo Rainforest Lodge was an amazing place to stay: comfortable, with the best food and friendly staff who made an effort to remember your name. From the personal drive to and from the lodge to the informed guides, we had great service. My Nature Resort having been built the most recently was also a very comfortable place to stay. The manager was very engaging and we enjoyed seeing the flying squirrels at dusk.
Felicia was extremely helpful in planning our trip. She was also very responsive to emails, questions!

A series of highlights in Thailand – December 2023
The team at Odyssey World helped us create so many wonderful memories in Thailand. The itinerary was perfectly crafted just for us, and the accommodations were fantastic.
Each property was different and special in its own right. Panvaree was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced, and having a monkey climb on our kayak in Krabi was truly memorable. We really couldn’t have done it better ourselves, even if we’d spent six months planning. Instead, Odyssey World figured everything out in a week or two, and we had that time to get excited for our trip.
It was a series of highlights from start to finish.

The most amazing trip to Vietnam – November 2023
We loved Hoi An, we had some free time here and went for a beautiful cycle in the countryside, to the beach and a lovely restaurant. The Halong Bay cruise was incredible and Bhaya cruises were amazing, we seemed to get to go to quieter spots than some cruises and the staff were amazing.
Our day in Cuc Phuong was so good, it was super quiet and amazing, we couldn’t walk quite as far as we hoped due to a flood but it was brilliant and our guide for that are Tuan was fantastic. Our guide for Hoi An and Hue was amazing, Phi was so fun and kind. We really enjoyed his company and passion for the area.
The pilgrimage village was absolutely incredible, it is immaculate and the facilities are amazing. It was the first time we ate at a hotel restaurant rather than local places and the food was amazing.
We also loved the sailing club Mui Ne, the staff there were so amazing. The location is fantastic and it is quite small which we really loved. The food was really good, the rooms lovely and the whole place so well looked after.
Communication with Amy was incredible, she always replied really quickly and she helped us with a situation while we were away. The documents were comprehensive and really good. She even gave us personalised restaurant recommendations from her own trip. We couldn’t have asked for more.
Our trip to Vietnam was our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect. Amy was incredible in the planning process and made us feel like our trip was important to her.
Everything was so well planned. Things we weren’t sure about like having a private guide turned out to be great and we were glad we followed Odyssey World’s recommendations. The accommodation was all fantastic. We loved every place we visited. It was the most amazing trip we will probably ever have. Cannot recommend Vietnam or Odyssey World enough.

An amazing Jordan adventure – November 2023
Donna and I are had the most amazing time in Jordan. It’s an incredible place and the people are sooooo friendly. The weather was also great.
Petra exceeded our expectations. How people go there when it’s even hotter, we don’t know!! We did soooooo much walking while we were there! It was good to have a chilled day and night in Wadi Rum.
The jewellery is very pretty (and everywhere) and even though we say ‘we’re not going to buy anymore’, we always cave in!! We’ve also loved the hotels we’ve stayed in, especially the one in Amman.
Our driver, Khaled, couldn’t have been better – he was very knowledgeable, friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us.
My friend and I would put this holiday in our top 5 destinations, and that’s saying something as we’ve travelled extensively between us! The landscape is breathtaking, the people are super friendly and the atmosphere is just lovely. If there weren’t more places to visit, I’d go back in a heartbeat!

A Kenyan adventure that exceeded expectations – November 2023
Madri was superb – very helpful and efficient, answered all our questions and was extremely knowledgeable, she deserves more than 5 stars!
All of our trip was wonderful – for us the beach, watersports and wildlife were the highlights.
The Sands accommodation was great, staff were friendly and helpful, food good, it all exceeded our expectations!
Odyssey World exceeded our expectations when it came to planning and booking our holiday. All questions were dealt with promptly and the process was so smooth. We are going to use them again next year and already planning our journey! Highly recommended for a stress free start to your holiday!

An amazingly beautiful trip to Jordan – November 2023
Jerash was a lovely surprise. Our local guide was amusing, knowledgeable and an interesting character. Petra, amazing, Wadi Rum spectacular, Dead Sea Resort, great fun. Loved learning about Jordan’s history.
An amazing beautiful place, felt very safe. Take your time, especially Petra. There is more to it than you think. To do some of the view points go for at least two full days. Build in some down time to reflect on the experiences. Maybe squeeze in a visit to a Hammam. Take lots of small denomination US dollars for tips.
Our trip definitely benefitted local people. Went to some local restaurants, village shops, and Hammam. Jordanian guides and driver. They rely so much on tourism.
Our getaway was great, not only in terms of value for money but also in variety of periods of history, culture and scenery. The latter more than expected, especially for a desert country.

A dream getaway to Borneo – November 2023
Borneo has always been a dream of ours. Seeing orangutans was one of our childhood dreams and this certainly came true. Everywhere we stayed was beautiful and all the staff were very helpful. The guides provided us with an extra special adventure and their knowledge of the local wildlife was amazing. The highlights for us were staying on the Kinabatangan River, where we were lucky to see wild orangutans and many other mammals.
We stayed in 5 different places on our trip. They range from luxury to more basic lodges. Each had its own special qualities. The lodges were comfortable but what made it special was the excellent and welcoming service provided by the staff, who we soon became friends with.
We were kept up to date throughout and the information provided before our trip outlined everything perfectly. Our consultant was always available and wanted to ensure we got the trip we wanted
We would not have changed anything, other than never wanting to leave any part of it. Odyssey World made our trip a once in a lifetime adventure, which we both will never forget. The extra special touches and perfect organisation can not be compared.

An amazing Namibian adventure – November 2023
Loved every minute of our trip! Damaraland was our favourite area but each place offered something different. We thought Namibia was incredible.
Excellent choice of lodges, favourites were: Fish River Lodge, Mowani in Damaraland and Onguma The Fort – all exceeded expectations.
We had an amazing holiday in Namibia made so good by Madrid’s local knowledge, excellent recommendations and ease of booking. She couldn’t have been more helpful.

An excellent Borneo holiday – November 2023
Thanks Felicia, and to all the team, we had an excellent holiday! 5 stars!
Our highlight was seeing a clouded leopard in Danum Valley. Both Danum Valley and Gaya Island Resort exceeded expectations. We’re very likely to book again!

Beautiful coastline to spectacular mountains and tranquil deserts in Oman – October 2023
It was so nice to see a total contrast to Dubai (where our children have decided to live and work)!
A sense of calm and quietly proud and traditional people came across, and in our week’s trip we saw amazingly diverse landscapes.
For me, the highlight was Ras Al Jinz where at night, and early in the morning we watched turtles laying their eggs and the baby hatchlings trying to make their way to the sea.
For my husband, it was the tranquillity and majesty of the sand dunes at the 1000 night camp in the desert.
Our main guide, Karim, was lovely and looked after us well throughout the trip, as well as giving us a good insight into life as an Omani.
All arrangements went smoothly – Felicia and her colleagues were exceptionally helpful at all times when contacted!

A wonderful anniversary experience in Borneo – October 2023
Our highlights included: the first wildlife we saw in Danum Valley – hornbills & our first sightings of primates. A wild Orangutan only about 6 feet away on the Kinabantganan river & the large male on the feeding platform at the Orangutan sanctuary. We also enjoyed the flying squirrels at the Rainforest Discovery Center & at My Nature Resort. Plus all the beautiful birds along the river. Most memorable experience – the wild Orangutan at close quarters on the river.
The Borneo Rainforest Lodge was the best accommodation, food, friendly staff & knowledgeable guides- definitely our favourite lodge. My Nature Resort was a lovely room after the riverside lodges. All accommodation made a special effort for our anniversary – we enjoyed towel sculptures on the beds, cakes and serenading.
Felicia was very responsive to our emails and helpful on the telephone. Arranging a bespoke wildlife holiday to Borneo with Odyssey World was a simple process due to the expertise of the company. We would definitely look to book our next trip with them. Good in country agents provided a seamless transition from one accommodation to another.
Thank you for the wonderful experience and making us feel special!

A well-rounded cultural excursion to Jordan – October 2023
Amy was very thorough in designing our personalised itinerary. Our highlights included the Petra visit and Petra by Night, Jerash, Mujib and the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and the safari trip, Azraq and reserves, as well as Ajloun.and trails.
All of our accommodation was excellent. Mujib and Wadi Rum were the best locations. Double Tree Hotel in Aqaba with pool and facilities exceeded expectations!
Driver guide, Khaled, was very considerate, careful and flexible with the itinerary. Very knowledgeable about local history, culture and timing visits. Gave us interesting local insights to our visits and challenges with a good sense of humour.

A terrific time in the gorgeous country of Namibia – September 2023
First of all, thank you [Madri] for your help in planning our trip – you were very helpful, communicative and responsive, as well as Amy, and your partner Nicky on the ground. Nicky gave us a sound orientation, answered questions, and was available by text all the time when I asked about changing some of our plans, did some herself and supported me in doing some myself, she was super responsive and we are so grateful – the two of you really made our trip a special one and helped us to visit and appreciate your special country
Indeed, we had an amazing trip in your very beautiful country. Our goal was to experience the dunes and desert and we did – we were overwhelmed – Sossusvlei and the area – it is unique and incredible. We really appreciated getting to experience it.
Everyone we met throughout our journey was great – servers, hosts, drivers, guides, staff, cleaners, at all the hotels, restaurants and activities were friendly and knowledgeable and the service was great.
You worked with us to meet our goal of traveling for a longer period within our budget. We told you we wanted to walk a bit – and we could and did and thanks for helping with that. All of the hotels and tented camps were great and, in fact, better than I expected. The food was plentiful, clean, good – we always had lots to eat – breakfasts were great too!
We had a terrific time, you have a gorgeous country and we are so grateful we got to visit it and would not have missed it for anything. Thank you again for everything Madri, good luck with your work and future clients and I hope the season goes well!

An amazing excursion to Namibia – September 2023
Everything was amazing! Our highlights were the Sossusvlei, the activity in Swakopmund, Camp Kipwe, the desert elephants, the waterhole in Okakuejo and the leopard tracking in Okonjima.
Camp Kipwe was definitely our favourite. What an amazing special place! We also loved Desert Camp, Mushara and Okonjima. The Cornerhouse guesthouse in Swakopmund was lovely with the best breakfast from all the accommodations!
Everything was perfect. The service from Warthog was 5 stars.

A fascinating cultural experience in Jordan – September 2023
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We felt like we were in excellent hands with a safe driver who knew the roads well. Visiting Jerash was a total eye opener and guide was excellent. Petra was wonderful, we had an excellent guide there. Little Petra was special and should not be missed. We loved the Petra museum and it was a very good introduction for the next day. We heard about this from friends. We were lucky to have a good guide on site. I especially loved the mosaics in every place we visited!
Amy was highly responsive and the travel documents laid out everything very clearly. Odyssey World provided an excellent service and we loved our trip to Jordan. It was a fascinating experience with multiple layers of culture from the Nabataean to Roman and Byzantine and Crusaders to modern Jordan. The food was fabulous. Not to be missed!

A wildlife-filled Borneo excursion – September 2023
Firstly we would like to thank you all at Odyssey World – first class service. Everywhere we went there was someone there to meet us on time and take us to where we needed to go. Felicia was great help and always came back to us when we needed to ask something – thank you.
Accommodation was all good and we saw SO MUCH wildlife – monkeys, wild orangutan, crocodiles up to 4.5 meters long, buffy fish owl, insects, frogs, Malayan Civet, hornbill birds, monitor lizards – and fire flies! It was simply amazing.
We would have no hesitation in using you again, thank you for a very good holiday and memories!

A fabulous, stress-free Borneo getaway – September 2023
A big thank you for organising our trip, it was impeccably planned and we had a fabulous experience and made memories to last a lifetime. The river lodges up from Sandakan were just brilliant – food, staff, location, trips.
The trip out to the turtle island was the highlight of the trip for the kids.
I couldn’t believe how well organised it all was, the local staff were friendly, on time and we were amazed how well it all worked considering our complicated schedule. I’ve never used an agent before and was so impressed how well it all worked and how stress-free it was for me. So a big thanks to you and your team.

A truly magical trip to Botswana – September 2023
Our highlights were seeing the animal families in the Okavango Delta, a truly magical place: cheetahs, lions, elephants, leopards hippos and more. I did not expect to see so much.
The accommodation was well chosen. We loved the Pioneer Lodge, I just wished I had packed some smarter clothes. It was a great place to relax and unwind after our safari. The food was great and the staff were very helpful!
Madri was amazing and very patient as we had to cancel and rebook. Our itinerary was well thought out and suited us perfectly, and our guides helped us to adjust to Bush Safari – our guide Rex was super friendly, funny, helpful, caring and passionate about sharing the fantastic wildlife in Botswana.
The booking process was made very easy by Odyssey World. All the transfers were arranged by Madri and we were picked up and dropped off as arranged. Bushway Safari organised a perfect safari with expert guide Rex and fantastic cook Chiko, every evening we were delighted with his creations, for e.g. chicken casserole, omelettes, beans and rice and a pudding and homemade bread.
We enjoyed camping out with the other guests and we all helped each other setting up camp and clearing away. The safari exceeded my expectations and we saw so many animals in their natural habitat. Victoria Falls was amazing well worth the visit. The Pioneer Lodge was the perfect place to recharge and relax before our flight home!

A wonderful trip to Borneo – August 2023
Our highlights were travelling down river seeing wild orangutans and snorkelling amongst the corals at Gaya island!
All the accommodation was very good. Gaya Island Resort was a lovely and luxurious end to our holiday. The guides were wonderful and extremely organised and friendly.
The trip was wonderful and we loved every minute of it!

Limited accessibility? No problem! An exceptional Japanese getaway – August 2023
The whole experience with Odyssey World has been fabulous. The level of communication was exceptionally good, including when abroad and in need of support! Careful consideration was given to our accessibility needs, so although using public transport was a challenge (probably next to impossible on our own), with our local guides we negotiated them with ease.
Amy kept us up to date at every stage and was a vital contact for us when in Japan. She did a fabulous job and answered every query swiftly and constructed an ideal itinerary for us.
The highlight of the trip was seeing Mt. Fuji from the bullet train, and Martin’s highlight was spotting a giant Japanese crab (in Osaka Aquarium!).
The hotels were excellent and exceeded expectations. They were immaculate, the service was exemplary and the accessibility of the rooms (e.g. adapted bathrooms) was generally fine. Favourite hotel: the Celestine Gion in Kyoto.
We had a magnificent holiday in Japan and, despite our fears about managing the trip with one traveller in a wheelchair, Odyssey World has helped us to feel we can take on new challenges in the future.

A phenomenal, wildlife-packed Borneo adventure – August 2023
The itinerary was fab and extremely comprehensive! Felicia was fantastic in helping me plan this trip and work through all the elements I wanted to consider. She helped me work the itinerary to a shape that suited us as a family. Very personal service, hugely appreciated
A group of 3 elephants coming across our silent boat and merrily munching their way down the river bank where we could then gently follow them for a while. So close – magical!
Accommodation was extremely varied as we had 10 stops in 3 weeks. Some was luxurious, some hostels and basic. All was exactly as described by Felicia and the team so I knew what to expect. All also perfectly located for what we had planned to do. Gaya Island Resort was all of our favourite and perfect after the mountain!
My experience with Odyssey World was phenomenal – they provided personal, tailored and knowledgeable advice and helped me structure a holiday I’d been working towards for a decade. To take my children on a holiday of a lifetime post big exams was a dream they helped me realise. Lifetime memories made. I’ve been raving about you ever since – thank you so much x

Surpassing all expectations in Borneo – August 2023
We had an amazing holiday. It met all our expectations and we loved every aspect of it. Thank you [Felicia] for all the advice, all the transfers were seamless.
Terry, our guide on the river, was exceptional and his eyesight was something else when spotting wildlife – witnessing an orangutan when leaving the river was a great end to the trip.
We usually book our holidays independently. With a trip like this we used Odyssey World – their knowledge and advice was just what we needed. The trip was seamless and met all of our expectations. They always answered our questions quickly and were so informative. Would highly recommend!

A magical wildlife-filled Borneo adventure – July 2023
Our highlight was seeing the wildlife in Borneo. We had an amazing time seeing mother turtle laying eggs and releasing baby turtles to the sea. The sunset at Kota Kinabalu was beautiful. Seeing probosics monkeys and hornbills in the wild was magical.
All the accomodation was spot on – the kids particularly loved their own space at Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and at Shangri La Tanjung Aru in Kota Kinabalu.
Amy has listened to what we want to achieve from the holiday and suggested a perfect itinerary!

A Borneo experience like no other – July 2023
It’s hard to choose a highlight: spending 20 minutes watching two orangutan in the wild or getting caught in a tropical downpour on the canopy walk – mystical!
There’s a great focus on the environment and minimal impact, especially in the jungle locations. I appreciated the opportunity to meet and get to know local guides.
Overall, the holiday was exceptional. Full of experiences it’s not possible to get anywhere else. Very well organized, out of the normal comfort zone but never out of control!

A holiday of a lifetime in Borneo – July 2023
Shangri La was a great first stop – quiet, comfortable and the buffet morning and evening was absolutely amazing! Abai exceeded our expectations on the food front – absolutely delicious meals and so much of it!! The friendliness of all accommodations was wonderful. Edmundo at My Nature was so lovely. And the Japanese restaurant at Gaya was wonderful as was the setting of the hotel there.
Seeing crocs on the river; seeing orangutangs and Sepilok and a very close encounter with one walking along the skywalk at the rainforest discovery centre! The massages at Gaya Island. The food at Abai. Sonny our guide there was wonderful – he couldn’t do enough to make our trip memorable and fun. We felt spoiled rotten.
It felt like a really tailor-made trip. It was only when we got there and experienced it that we realised how much thought Felicia had put into the trip from her knowledge of the area. It was a perfect mix from adventure to relaxation and all of the timings were communicated brilliantly – much better than other people we met in various locations who often didn’t know what time they were being picked up etc. We felt very well informed throughout.
The order, number of days at each place etc was spot on. It was perfect and felt really well planned out (e.g. some people went to Gaya first and then the river etc – to us we loved doing the adventure bit first and then relaxing).
I can’t recommend Odyssey World enough. The whole trip was planned out so well, with a great mix of adventure and relaxation in the most wonderful accommodations. The communication before we left and on arrival was second to none and we felt so looked after and safe. Far from meeting our expectations, the trip exceeded them and we feel so grateful to Odyssey World for creating and providing such a memorable holiday of a lifetime!

A wildlife-packed Namibia adventure – June 2023
The whole experience was great. We had some amazing wildlife sightings, including a pride of 16 lions including 8 cubs and 2 males, a herd of 34 elephants, and a trek with a black rhino ranger where we saw 2 black rhinos. But the overriding memory will be of the Namibian people and how happy, friendly and welcoming they are. We never felt wary or unsafe on any part of our trip.
It definitely benefited local people, at the very least through the employment the tourism brings to everywhere we stayed. It definitely supported conservation as we paid to enter protected areas and we had one trip with a black rhino ranger who works directly in rhino conservation.
Overall, the trip was fantastic! From the places we stayed, the wildlife we saw and the people we met, we had an amazing experience and would highly recommend Namibia as a safari holiday way beyond other countries.
Lorna Lawson
An amazing experience and adventure in Borneo – June 2023
This was an amazing experience and adventure. Everything was organised from the flights, to the airport and resort transfers. Everything went according to plan and we felt very safe throughout the whole trip.
Overall accommodation was really good. Favourite places were Borneo Rainforest, Abai and MY Nature Resort – would definitely go back to those. Crown Plaza Changi – never stayed at an airport hotel, but really liked this one and would definitely use it again.
Appreciative of Felicia – very useful that the consultant had been to Borneo, so could give us extra tips as to what to expect and what order to do the trip.
We loved seeing wildlife in the wild. Nothing was guaranteed in terms of what you would see, but there was always something.
Would recommend everyone to do this as it’s a wonderful way to see wildlife and to support the local villages.

A delightful excursion to Jordan – June 2023
The whole trip was a delight! I can’t say there was any part that was lacking.
My favourite accommodation was Al Manara in Aqaba. The guest house in Wadi Rum was in the perfect location, so I appreciated that!
I was impressed with my guide’s knowledge of my itinerary, and he provided good judgement in search of local amenities. His name is Moses. He did a great job and I tipped him EXTREMELY well.
I would rate my holiday 5 stars and am very likely to book with Odyssey World again!

The perfect Malaysian adventure – June 2023
Odyssey World hit it out of the park for our Malaysian adventure. Not familiar with options, I simply gave Amy an idea of what we were looking for — jungle, beach, good food and yoga/spa. She found us paradise and put together a superb 10-day adventure, all the while ensuring superb communication and support, before and during the entire trip thanks to the capable and friendly ground team.
The flow of the trip was just perfect, going to Taman Negara first was a really good call since the accommodations, while the most luxurious available in the area, were nowhere near the level of Pangkor Laut luxury. The more rustic hiking experience in authentic (non-commercial feeling) but less extravagant accommodations first, pure luxury second. Exactly the perfect order!
The most unexpectedly SUPERIOR experience was the spa experience, which sounds trite, but must be said. I’ve done a fair number of spas in nice places, but none has come CLOSE to the spa experience that my husband and I enjoyed at Pangkor Laut. Not to be missed. The jungle walks in both Taman Negara and Pangkor Laut, and the exceptional beach at Pangkor Laut, were close seconds.
The Pangkor Laut garden villas truly exceeded expectations. They were exquisitely designed, spotlessly cleaned, and the service was simply top notch. Can’t say enough good things about Pangkor Laut.
We’ve decided we want to go to all YTL resorts everywhere around the world. The organization simply takes luxury and service to a whole new level. The service personnel were outrageously friendly and competent, the place was spotless, the food was to die for and the options for activities, food and beverages were just ideal for us. The most over the top part (of many) was the spa which I can say without hesitation is the best spa I’ve experienced. Simply extraordinary.
The entire trip was simply perfect, and the attention you gave us before (and the ground team during) could simply not have been better. Boy was I ready for a break, and boy did you provide it to us with minimal effort on our part. Deeply grateful.
Thank you Amy and thank you Odyssey World!

A wonderful Borneo excursion – May 2023
We saw wild orangutan cross our path just meters away from us at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge in Danum Valley, another was in the trees within the camp extents at Abai. We saw an elephant bathing in the river from the river boat cruise at Abai and a family of Otter Civets under our lodge at the end of a night walk at Abai! We also snorkelled with a black tip reef shark at Gaya Island. The list of creatures we spotted is huge, it was fab!
We were braced to have to rough it in these ‘jungle lodges’ but each was excellent. The food was absolutely fantastic. Gaya Island was a beautiful resort to finish, but the Borneo Rainforest Lodge was a luxury too. I’ve visited IKOS all inclusive resorts which are meant to be among the best in the world but the food on offer at the BFR was the best I’ve ever experienced. That said, we were there for the wildlife and I think Abai was my favourite. (They also really pushed the boat out for us as honeymooners on our last night!)
Felicia took the lead on booking the trip and made sure everything was excellent! Thank you. I will remember that holiday forever!

A wildlife-filled Borneo getaway – May 2023
When going to Borneo we all hope to see wild orangutans, and we were very fortunate to see them on a number of occasions in both Deramakot and Danum Valley. The list of wildlife sightings are endless, right from the pygmy elephants to tree frogs, all magical!
We stayed in a real mix of accommodation, from the very basic to the very deluxe…
Throughout our dealings with Felicia at Odyssey we always felt they had everything under control even when dealing with the pandemic and all the uncertainty that brought. We always received prompt responses to any enquiries and Felicia was very enthusiastic and encouraged our input to the planning. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Odyssey World and are likely to use them for future trips.

An amazing Borneo adventure – May 2023
The trip was amazing, the people were welcoming and we had some amazing times experiencing Borneo. I only wish I had had longer on the river. We saw pigmy elephants and proboscis monkeys, flying squirrels and much more. Turtle Island was also beautiful and it felt a real privilege to be there and see the amazing work the rangers do to keep the turtle population buoyant. We got to see it in its real light. The sunsets on the river were stunning and it was a real treat to experience a little luxury on Gaya Island. It was a holiday of a lifetime.
Many thanks to the team for organising this amazing trip for us.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Jordan.

Spoiled on a wonderful trip to Borneo – May 2023
The trip was amazing from start to finish. We had a wonderful time, a real adventure. We were looked after from start to finish by super helpful, friendly, knowledgeble local guides, not one transfer was late, and we were treated like family by all the staff we met.
We stayed in 4 different accommodations:
Abai Jungle Lodge – beautiful, rustic, lovely food, great staff, wonderful river trip experiences.
MY Nature resort – Fabulous Oasis. Great Location and Edmundo!! 🙂
Selingan Island – fabulous experience (Salt water shower was interestng!)
Gaya Island Resort – Again fabulous. Immaculate service, stunning location, great rooms, great food and super friendly attentive staff.
Felicia helped us plan our trip and it really was tailor-made, she spent a lot of time listening to what we wanted, gave us new ideas and planned a wonderful experience for us.
We were so spoiled and would have stayed forever!

An immensely enjoyable Omani adventure – May 2023
The trip in Oman was absolutely fabulous – everything went like clockwork, something we’re not used to. The driver was waiting at the airport when we arrived in Muscat. The following day our guide/driver arrived promptly at 9am.
The next six days were immensely enjoyable. We went to all the places in the itinerary and saw everything we wanted.
The hotels we stayed were really luxurious and comfortable. The vehicle was spacious, clean and air-conditioned, so the travel was smooth. Our guide/driver was courteous and polite, and even introduced us to his wife and daughters. The six days we spent in Oman were really fun.
Thank you very much for making this happen. Your arrangements were superb and we (my wife Sheila and I) really enjoyed every minute of it. Five stars to your efforts for making this a superlative experience.
Oman is now unrecognizable from how it was 40 years ago. Back then it was a backwater with very little of anything. Today the country is prosperous and wealthy, and the Omanis we spoke to expressed pride in their country. Western tourists would find Oman almost a paradise (except in the summer months) — the country has everything that typical tourists desire. Native Omanis however treat the immigrant workers from India and Pakistan with undisguised contempt.
For Sheila and I, this trip was a treat that we gave ourselves. We stayed in 5-star accommodations, travelled luxuriously in a private, chauffeur-driven vehicle and just looked at things. Not the kind of travel we are used to.
Since we married in January 1982, Sheila and I have travelled an average of 100 days a year. In the past 41 years we have spent about 4,000 days in travel, possibly more than anyone else in the world, living or dead.
We have travelled extensively in every country in the world: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, . . . . to Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
In these travels, we have lived with tribal people in the Sudan, the Amazon rainforests and Papua New Guinea; eaten deep-fried scorpions, crocodile steak, bush meat, insects, and raw, uncooked beef; witnessed public executions; traversed most of the lengths of major rivers, including the Amazon, Niger and Mekong; crossed the Sahara and explored the frozen wastes of Siberia; trekked to the Everest base camp and have flown in tiny aircraft over the Andes; explored deep caves in Uganda and fled from kidnappers in Mali. We have done just about everything one can think of.
So, this trip to Oman was at the other extreme end of the spectrum. After a lifetime of often very dangerous travel, it was fun to simply relax and let the days pass.
Thank you very much once again for making this trip so memorable.

A very pleasant Borneo excursion – April 2023
We loved Kuala Lumpur, but the highlight was seeing all the wildlife in Borneo, assisted by our extremely knowledgeable local guides. Loved all the accommodation we stayed. All the jungle lodges in Borneo were excellent. Gaya Island resort exceeded expectations.
From initial contact with Felicia when we told her what kind of holiday we would like and what our budget was, the service provided was first class. All the accommodations we stayed at were great, and all flights and connections were well timed.
A special mention also to all the local guides who we met in Borneo. Without exception, all were polite, friendly and very knowledgeable which enhanced the whole experience. Additionally, when the jungle lodges we stayed at knew we were all vegetarian, they went out of their way to ensure we were extremely well catered for.
Would definitely use Odyssey World again. Thank you!

A Borneo adventure full of highlights – April 2023
Our highlights were absolutely all of it! All the accommodation was amazing. Each lodge was different and fantastic in its own way.
Very likely to book with Odyssey World again!

A fantastic trip to Borneo – April 2023
Every area we visited had its own unique highlight. The people, the river cruises and SI tours were absolutely fantastic.
Accommodation was all good. Abai was beautiful in terms of peaceful, simple and so personal. Kinabatangan was great – it had the pool which was a bonus. My Nature resort was of a higher standard. Selingan Turtle island was amazing – felt like a castaway island. Gaya Resort was luxury. Horizon hotel was well situated and served its purpose as a quick stop before going to Sandakan.
Everything was so well organised!

A most memorable Icelandic adventure – March 2023
The whole holiday was brilliant and memorable – each place we visited was different. We are still talking about it!
We enjoyed the large vehicles on the glacier, the Kaurma baths were very relaxing, and there was a good mixture of sights from glaciers, caves, hot baths and springs. All accommodation was suitable and met our needs. The hotels were warm comfortable and clean. The Silica Hotel was lovely.
This was our first ever trip using a travel company. Odyssey World was reccommended to us. Everything worked well. After speaking to other travellers on holiday we were very lucky to have such a professional company. We were kept up to date, and the island rep gave us instructions when one trip time had to be changed. From landing on Iceland until we took off again all went like clockwork.
Thank you for helping us to achieve a most memorable holiday.

An exceptional trip to Tanzania – February 2023
We had high expectations for the safari, but they were surpassed!
Our guide Hillary was absolutely excellent, well-organised, professional, charming and very knowledgeable.
Many thanks for organising an exceptional trip. 5 stars!

An unforgettable Borneo honeymoon – February 2023
We had an absolutely brilliant time and were extremely lucky with our animal sightings which was definitely a highlight. We were lucky enough to see many wild orangutan including dominant males and mums with their babies.
I think the highlight for us was definitely Tabin. Our guide was fantastic and organized a second sunset drive to spot wildlife since we loved the initial evenings night drive. We watched the sunset next to a dominant male orangutan who was also enjoying the view while making his nest for the night. Then as we drove home in the night we saw owls, leopard cats, civets (including a spotted Malay with her baby)and even had to stop for a 2m reticulated python crossing the road! All while surrounded by fireflies. For us it was the most romantic and wonderful part.
The scuba diving at Gaya was also a major highlight. We needed up going for 6 dives while we were there and saw cuttlefish, lion fish, seahorses and green turtles.
We were also very lucky on the Kinabatangan River seeing slow loris on our night walk, managed to see the elephants in the day and had a troop of proboscis jumping across the river right in front of us which was like watching BBC Planet Earth live!
Everywhere we stayed no matter how remote made such lovely touches for our honeymoon with petal and swan displays on beds, candles, cakes and serenades!
Thank you again for organizing such a wonderful honeymoon! Borneo holds such a special place in our hearts.

A mind-blowing trip to Saudi Arabia – February 2023
This trip was a huge success!!! It exceeded all of our expectations. Saudi Arabia has moved easily to the top of our list of favorite travel destinations which was not expected since we normally prefer the lush and colorful tropics.
Let’s start with the weather in Saudi Arabia in November which was a big factor for us. Since we had experienced several days of rain during our last vacations in the tropics in November we wanted to try a desert. In Saudi Arabia (Bahrain and Kuwait) we had sunshine every single day for a month.
In Abha, we were taken to a beautiful rotating restaurant with a wonderful buffet (so much fun eating with our dynamic young guide and his female assistant, who showered us with farewell gifts!). In Riyadh we ate at a very charming, colorful “old Saudi” decorated restaurant in a private dining room with fire place and delicious local food.
Something else we loved in Saudi Arabia was the great variety of things to see and do and the gorgeous scenery!!! Every day was an adventure!!! It never got boring including ever changing desserts (color!), lush Wadis, steep mountains, calm sea, super luxury department stores and newly renovated souks, coffee and date plantations, dune bashing near Riyad, visiting historical sights, swimming and snorkeling in the Red Sea, visiting oil fields and Neom.
The museums and newly renovated “old” city parts were very tastefully done, everything was clean, attractive, high-tech (bathrooms in upscale department stores!). The fancy department stores were glitzy and super-modern, and so was the whole infrastructure like airports and railroad stations. We loved the comfortable train ride through stunning desert scenery (much of which we missed due to our very interesting Saudi travel companions 😊) – first class no less with its own modern waiting room and self-serve snack counter.
Last but not least, I am building up to the most important feature that makes Saudi Arabia so lovable: Its people!!!! We enjoyed Saudi Arabia mostly because of its people!!! In this respect Saudi Arabia is indeed number one of all the countries I have visited, not only were all guides and drivers friendly, outgoing and cooperative, but people in the streets greeted and welcomed us, approached us for a little chat and to take our picture.
Many loved telling us about their world-wide trips and studies abroad which had made them so open-minded towards foreigners. The Saudis are personable, uncomplicated (if you are familiar with and accepting of their culture and religion), cheerful, curious, smart and always make you feel welcome.
Thank you again, Felicia, for working out this difficult adventure for us which went amazingly smoothly and a huge thank-you to your office and the Saudi staff who helped make our trip such a memorable adventure. It was plain magical!!!
With best regards,
John and Birgit Steinhauser
A perfect trip to Jordan – February 2023
It was a perfectly organised holiday. We were met virtually straight off the plane and guided through every step. Our driver was so helpful and went out of his way to look after us.
Locanda Hotel in Amman was clean, comfy and a very helpful owner. The restaurant at the hotel Maestro Garden had excellent Arabian food. It was the best on our trip. Very good Jordanian wine too. Both the Movenpicks were really good too.
The itinerary couldn’t have been better and every detail thought about. I’d definitely book a holiday with Odyssey World again!

The trip of a lifetime to the Galapagos islands – January 2023
We headed out in 2 pangas (dinghies) into the swampy mangrove lagoon. Finally we saw one large green sea turtle. Pushing deeper into the lagoon, we saw another turtle in the water, then 2 more popping their heads up, then dozens more. Then the call – “shark” – as a 5 foot long white tipped shark swam alongside the boat. The kids were mesmerized, as were the adults, as we saw more and more turtles and sharks as well as several different kinds of birds.
After breakfast we pangaed to Darwin Bay where we wandered along the beach through the nesting sites of the red footed boobies and frigate birds. Everyone was wide-eyed seeing the birds within arm’s length. The highlight for the kids was kneeling down and handing the boobies twigs for them to play with. The highlight for Julie, naturally, was seeing a few blue footed boobies.
Next came our first kayak trip. We all meandered along the cliff watching the gulls, boobies and other birds flying around dive bombing into the water after fish as well as marine iguanas clinging to the rocks. Then in the water we began to see sharks, turtles and sea lions.
The second outing that afternoon on another island started even better, the kids (and adults) were squealing with glee as many penguins were floating in the water or lazily gliding through the water all around the group for about 15 minutes. A truly unforgettable experience.
We pangaed to shore through a large colony of marine iguanas swimming through the water with their heads poking through and also perched on the rocks. We landed among several sea lions swimming around and lazing on the beach – mamas, babies, adolescents and the big male protecting his beach. We hiked past numerous land iguanas and lava lizards.
We kept asking the kids what their favorite part of the trip was and they would list almost everything. But they would ask me what my favorite thing was and I would say “My favorite is watching you kids have such a great time together and loving the animals.” I guess that’s what being a grandpa is all about.
The last morning we were all a bit teary eyed to be finishing up our adventure. Luc and Reed both said that they wanted to come back with their parents and kids someday. We took our last panga ride to the dock and as we got out a turtle was swimming around to wish us farewell. As we walked up the ramp, we saw a literally just born sea lion cuddling up against mama.
What an ending to an amazing trip!!

A flawless getaway to Borneo – January 2023
My first highlight has to be the manner in which the trip was organised by Odyssey World (OW); flawless in every respect. We were delighted when our expectations were not only met but often exceeded.
Like many people, I probably wanted to visit Borneo and the rainforest to have the opportunity to see the wildlife; moreover the big mammals – Orangutans, Probiscis monkeys, sun bears, elephants etc. etc. Which we did, in abundance and it was wonderful. However, in reality I was left overwhelmed by was the astonishing beauty of the flora, most especially the primary forest in Danum Valley, and what it kept hidden – the smaller animal and plant kingdoms of Sabah. Not only is visiting Danum Valley one of my most memorable experiences of this trip, I can say it is one of the most memorable experiences of my life!
Accommodation and food was excellent throughout our trip. As far as my favourite place along the way, I guess it has to be The Rainforest Lodge in Danum Valley but that was more to do with the surroundings than anything else; albeit the lodge and it’s offerings are exceptional.
As far as anywhere exceeding our expectations, I have to make special mention of Gaya Island Resort. In short, we couldn’t have been more delighted with the welcome we received and the time we enjoyed there – our experience was comfortable, relaxing, informative – taking time to chat at length with the Conservation Director Justin and often with the Resort Manager Cyril – and a great way to end our Borneo adventure.
Despite the exceptional beauty of Borneo (Sabah) it was made even more captivating by sharing its discovery with the local people who we met and got to spend a little time with along the way. So, another highlight comes down to the welcome we received. Everywhere, we encountered the most amazing welcome and incredible hospitality.
Our first contact was with Felicia Severns, who has been a delight to work with from our very first contact. Travel documents were detailed, structured, easy to navigate and provided all the information and guidance required. Communications were handled swiftly and completely professionally right from the first point of contact onwards.
We’re undecided where to travel next but we’ll always think of including Odyssey World in our plans, where appropriate, in the future!

Exceeding expectations in Borneo – January 2023
Our highlights were the visit to Danum Valley and the Kinabatagan River. The Danum Valley resort exceeded our expectations. Very likely to book again!

An exhilarating wildlife experience in Namibia – January 2023
My highlights were the wildlife viewing in Etosha and the game drives at Bagatelle, along with the dunes at Sossusvlei.
The accommodation was excellent. I really enjoyed Bagatelle, Taleni camp outside Etosha, and Desert Camp. Taleni and Desert exceeded my expectations for the Chameleon tour!
Given the time/location constraints we were working under, I think Odyssey planned a great trip for me. I’d be very likely to book again.

A memorable getaway to Oman – November 2022
There was a real variety of interesting experiences! The driver was very good and made minor changes to the schedule to improve content.
The arranged walk was memorable. There was also a great short walk above Sama Wakan. And the hotels were all very good relative to their price.
Overall, it was a well-curated trip covering a lot of ground, augmented by the welcoming nature of Omanis.

The Great Culinary Escape to Malaysia – October 2022
What three words would you use to describe the Great Culinary Escape?
Katrine: Well-organised, with a personal touch and intense yet laidback and relaxed!
Laura: First-class, entertaining and memorable!
Deborah: Fun, luxurious and delicious (and awesome!)
Angela: The title says it all: Great Culinary Escape!
Rachel: Exhilarating, hilarious and educational!
Eric: I loved it!
Jon: Epicurean, exotic and enlightening!
What were your highlights of the tour?
Katrine: When we got to visit Norman’s family in his village. I love to go off the beaten track and to be able to visit something real that most tourists won’t be able to experience.
Laura: The mischievous monkeys on the island were definitely a highlight, happy hour in Penang with all my new friends and getting to meet this amazing group of people!
Deborah: There are so many it’s hard to choose but I love the cooking classes – I loved the one at Pangkor Laut and I loved the one at the spice garden. I loved all the hotels we stayed in, I loved all the wonderful people and I loved coming to Malaysia!
Rachel: The group have been absolutely incredible; we’ve been with some really great people! I loved the cocktails when we arrived, the organisation has been amazing, including all the little touches. The standout days for me were the cookery classes on the luxury island – they were absolutely incredible, and we were right next to the sea!
What makes this tour unique?
Katrine: I’m not really a group traveller so this is my first trip of this kind. I like the twist of the culinary experience. The group was great and it adds a nice common denominator that we all have a shared interest in food.
Laura: Having a culinary spin and doing the cooking classes which I’ve never done before but thoroughly enjoyed, as well as having such a unique group of people come together and become friends!
Deborah: It’s not just a sightseeing tour – we’re seeing and doing a lot of different things. And it’s full of lots of awesome people from all different places coming together to have the best time.
Rachel: All the little touches that most people don’t think of – Fliss got us breakfasts on the day we were travelling and arranged coffees with the hotel. The locals have made it lovely as well – they’ve been giving us treats and food, as well as providing afternoon tea.
Sian: I believe what made this tour unique was the team – Norman Musa with his unbelievable knowledge of Malaysian cuisine and Felicia who planned everything with incredible detail so we didn’t have to worry about a thing!
The day was always fantastically well-planned, but Norman brought a taste of spice and a taste of reality to it, especially the day that we visited his family which was very special.
An action-packed Jordan adventure – October 2022
The whole tour worked out very well! Our guide Mohammed was knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Petra has to be the highlight of our tour.
All our accommodation was of a good standard – our favourite place was the Memories Aicha Camp, Wadi Rum.
Overall, our Jordan trip was memorable for our whole family, a taste of a fascinating country and an action-packed week visiting many interesting places with a helpful and knowledgeable guide. We will be back!
Yvonne Brown
A breathtaking Namibia experience – October 2022
The most memorable part was the overall scenery – it’s breathtaking! But the best moment overall was the rhino tracking experience in Palmwag.
Agama Lodge was our favourite accommodation. Simply everything about this place was wonderful! We also loved staying in the ‘glamping’ tent in Palwag; every camping experience was incredible.
Coralan
An excellent Borneo trip – October 2022
The riverboat trips and the stay at Abai lodge was very good. The boardwalks were wonderful, gardens lovely and all staff exceptional. The food was the best there too. Sepilok, my resort accommodation, was really nice.
Our guide Edmondon was excellent and went to great lengths to provide a brilliant service, he knew his birds and animals well! The night walk with him was the best one we had.
Seeing the Orangutans was a real treat and having the extra day to visit them again was good as you could go in the late afternoon when the crowds were gone. The sun bear visit was worth it despite the monsoon rain cutting it short. The Islamic museum was great and had a good variety of displays alongside a good restaurant. The horizon hotel was in a great position you could walk to the markets and eating places easily.
Being able to talk to a travel agent that knew the country and the areas was invaluable to organising our trip before we booked. Having a skilled and experienced guide on our walks was invaluable as they were so good at spotting and naming wildlife. The drivers were all helpful and good drivers. All of this made for a memorable trip and we will be recommending Odyssey to our friends

A luxurious getaway to Borneo – October 2022
Seeing wild Orangutans in Danim Valley was incredible. Other natural encounters such as Slow Loris, Tarsier, Saltwater Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, Leopard Cat and a Tarantula (the list could go on) will live with me forever!
Gaya Island Resort was also par excellence – Daniel Valley and Gaya Island Resort were pure luxury and the most incredibly designed accommodations and we’re wonderfully embedded into the natural environment. The resort at Abai has a wonderfully wholesome and communal feel and the link to the local village was obvious and very positive.

A trip to magical Namibia – October 2022
Our highlight was definitely seeing how vast the country is, and seeing all the animals at Etosha!
We-Kebi was a magical place, the best, and exceeded our expectations by far! On the whole the accommodation was of a very high standard – the lodges that were part of the Gondwana collection were particularly good.

A grand time in Namibia – October 2022
It’s very difficult to mention just one highlight, since there were many. We have really enjoyed the Kalahari sundowner, the Namib desert, Sandwich Harbor and the Etosha. The accommodations were great, very clean and the staff was very helpful. We particularly enjoyed the Etosha Safari Camp, due to the incredible atmosphere!
Madri has been super useful and always ready to help us, we’re very likely to book with Odyssey World again!

The Great Culinary Escape to Malaysia – October 2022
I could provide you with a long list of highlights but here are my memorable moments.
1. The initial meet-up with the group on the 1st day over a cocktail/dinner. There was no awkwardness, everyone was so friendly & we bonded as a group right away, especially over dinner.
2. Both cookery experience, we were very lucky to have 2 chefs with us on our cooking experience.
3. Petronas towers this was a nice surprise.
4. Visiting the food, fish market & watching how the anchovies were processed.
5. Visiting the chef’s family in their home.
The hotels were fabulous, my two favourites were E & 0 & Pangkor Laut, they were definitely appropriate levels.
Fliss is a wonderful host, she made me feel incredibly welcome when I first met her.
Norman is a lovely friendly person, I’m so glad he was on the tour as he was on hand to answer our questions about Malaysian food whenever we were out, or when at the hotel, there was some unfamiliar food at breakfast/dinner, even drinks.
The title of our tour ‘Great Culinary Escape’ sums up our holiday accurately. I am sure that most of us on this holiday will continue travel with Fliss, she is such a unique friendly person, she did a perfect job looking after the group. Please keep me posted on future culinary escapes.

The Great Culinary Escape to Malaysia – October 2022
Loved all the beautiful hotels, experiencing the markets and night time street food, as well as the Joie de Vivre of the hosts! Great cooking classes.
I loved the heritage hotels. The E and O was beautiful and Pangkor Laut was sensational!
It was very well organised and Felicia and Norman made sure we all had a great time.

Amazing trip to Borneo – September 2022
We just wanted to say thank you so much for organising such an amazing trip for us!
We had an absolutely incredible time in Borneo! From the food to the wildlife it was just amazing at every turn. Our itinerary ran like clockwork and was completely stress free. So thank you again for all your hard work and organisation that went into our holiday and we look forward to planning another one with you in the future!

A holiday of highlights in Borneo – September 2022
The whole holiday was a highlight. We had so many best experiences that we can’t say which was best!
Our favourite accommodation was definitely Gaya Island but the rest of the accommodations, considering it was in the jungle, were much better than expected.
Thank you, Odyssey World, for organising a memorable holiday. First class tour operators/agents used in Borneo. It truly was an amazing experience made more amazing by your experience and knowledge!

A truly magical trip to Borneo – September 2022
A truly magical trip to Borneo thanks to Felicia and the team at Odyssey World!
In Summer 2019, we set out to book a trip to Borneo, a dream of ours. Little did we know that a global pandemic would put our plans back 3 years. But, in September 2022, we finally made it, and it was worth the wait.
From the city sights of Kuala Lumpur and jungle trekking in primary and regeneration rainforest, to cruising up the Kinabatangan River and seeing our favourite animal on earth in the wild (orangutans), everything about this trip was just magical.
Within the first week of our trip, we had already seen all the wildlife we could have hoped for, and it kept coming – wild orangutans (and those being rehabilitated), rescued sun bears, pygmy elephants (very briefly), hornbills, gibbons, crocodiles and a host of other amazing wildlife. Truly special to see these amazing creatures out in the wild, where they belong.
At one of the lodges, we even had a mother and child orangutan family right above the boardwalk behind, giving us an amazing view of two of these amazing animals. We watched them for ages, it was truly very special. The lodges along the river was a real highlight for us. We saw amazing wildlife and river life is calming for the mind and soul.
We also loved exploring the dense rainforests of Tabin – and thankfully managed to avoid the leeches (but got bitten by everything else lol). Being surrounded by nature in this way, and at every point of our trip was grounding, relaxing and truly special. We loved learning about the conservation efforts taking place. And although you see Palm Oil plantations for miles, it’s comforting to know so much is happening on the island to preserve wildlife and support their future.
We ended our trip at the spectacular Gaya Island resort, and although the first day or so was parred with some bad weather, the sun shone on our final few days giving us the perfect, most luxurious ending to a trip we will never forget.
And what can I say about Odyssey World. Had we not booked via them, the hassle of rebooking the trip would have been unbearable (we had to move it 3 times). Felicia worked tirelessly for us, answering questions, moving flights and hotels and ensuring everything was sorted for our eventual departure. Every detail was taken care of, from transport to and from hotels to the most amazing guides at every location.
We packed a lot in on our 2-week trip, taking 7 flights, staying in 6 hotels and lodges, and it all went seamlessly (until our flight home, but that was unavoidable and had nothing to do with the expert planning beforehand). We wouldn’t think twice about using them again, and certainly will when we start planning our next adventure.
We would urge everyone to put Borneo on their list and would highly recommend Odyssey World to assist. Nothing short of amazing. Thank you. XXX

A dream getaway to Borneo – August 2022
This was the holiday of a lifetime. There were so many perfect experiences, made even better by the stunning accomodation. Our highlight was definitely all of the wonderful wildlife we saw. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but the itinerary was absolutely perfect!
Odyssey World exceeded our expectations for our honeymoon – it was the perfect holiday. Felicia was so helpful and planned the ideal itinerary for us. I would absolutely recommend Odyssey World to anyone looking for the dream getaway!
Laura
Namibia’s exquisite beauty – August 2022
Highlight of the trip was the beauty of the country and the animals! All the pre-booked accommodation was really good and of a good standard but with lots of character.
We had an awesome holiday in Namibia, it was great to have Madri and the other contacts just a WhatsApp away if we had any questions or queries as the trip progressed. Madri was super helpful with all of our questions pre-travel and as we had to rebook over 3 years due to Covid, she really helped with smoothing this all out.

A special trip to Botswana – August 2022
Every part of the trip was a highlight but staying on chiefs island, just ourselves and our 3 camp staff was amazing. We had hyena in the camp; baboons above our head and an elephant and baby elephant walked past – incredible experience.
Also to note both our guides were exceptional – we felt very honoured to have such a high calibre of guide.
Both our camping holidays were excellent; the quality of the tents was great. I think our favourite hotel was Thamalakane River Lodge. Victoria Falls Safari Lodge was good in a different way – felt like Disneyland does Safari.
I would be delighted to talk through the semi-participation camping; so that people have a clear idea of what is expected. I would highly recommend it, but only to a certain type of person!
Michele Kirby
A South African dream – August 2022
Our whole holiday in South Africa was memorable, as each day had something different and something that we will always remember.
The most memorable part of the holiday for our family was the safari, seeing those amazing animals in the wild and being so close to them.
The accommodation was great, as we travelled in the Winter, it was quiet which we liked and not over crowed in places. All our accommodations had something special about it and we loved them all.
Everything was communicated extremely well between myself and Liz. She was always there to answer any questions and to help when needed. She had super knowledge of South Africa and the holiday suited our needs.
We have had a trip of a lifetime and this couldn’t have been done without Liz. Helping and advising us on the best places to stay while in South Africa and trying to accommodate two young children and four adults, she did an amazing job and we are now thinking about where next!

Namibia at its greatest – July 2022
Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you so much to you and everyone else at Odyssey World for the holiday in Namibia. Despite the trials and tribulations of the last couple of years the holiday was fantastic. Flights, accommodation, excursions, etc all great and we really can’t praise our guide, Operi from ATC, enough for looking after us so well. He was very professional, very knowledgable, brilliant with languages, great company and a wicked sense of humour and he seemed to know people all over Namibia. He made our holiday a fantastic experience even sorting out 2 punctures without a second thought. It took a while for our holiday to happen but it was such a great holiday and so much worth the wait. We love Namibia.Thank you again to you and all at Odyssey and ATC.Best wishes,
Mark and Ros Pioli
The most wonderful adventure in Borneo – July 2022
Wow… where to start. To be honest from beginning to end we had a wonderful adventure. So excited to see the orangutan in the wild on 3 occasions, the proboscis monkeys are extraordinary! We all loved watching the rhinoceros hornbill birds flying below us when we were at the Danum Valley view point high up in the rainforest. Danum Valley was so luxurious and being in the middle of the primary forest was very special. We loved all the lodges we stayed in, delicious food and always looked after beautifully by everyone. A real treat having a second week on Gaya Island, swimming, snorkelling and diving in a beautiful warm sea. Everything felt a real adventure.
Really pleased with all the accommodation! There was something special about every lodge we stayed in. We hadn’t realised that Danum Valley was going to be quite so special and luxurious. Also, at Danum Valley you really get to experience trekking being in the spectacular rainforest and leeches! Loved it all.
Because of the pandemic the trip had to be cancelled, rescheduled and re-booked at least once and a couple of years down the line. Also, because of the repercussions of the pandemic, at last minute our final destination had to be changed. All of this was managed so well by Felicia and her team. Even when we were ‘a little stressed’ she was calm and super organised and there were no extra costs!
We have been blown away by Our adventure to Borneo. It is so special and amazing being in the rainforest, staying in lodges and being so well looked after. Seeing Orangutans, proboscis monkeys, tarantulas and so much other wildlife was just wonderful. It was an amazing experience to share with my three sons and husband, something we will be talking about for many years. Thank you!

A wildlife-filled Namibian wonderland – July 2022
We had the most wonderful trip through Namibia: Windhoek, Etosha, through the Caprivi strip and on to Victoria Falls at the end.
The vehicle and camping equipment was fantastic, with everything thought of, and the variety of wildlife and landscapes that we saw were amazing. We saw so many animals: rhino, lion, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, elephants, wildebeest, hippo, crocodile, monkeys, and warthog to name a few. Camping next to a river full of hippo was a particular highlight (although a little scary!), as was Namushasha Lodge which was perfect after eight days of camping!
The entire trip was so well planned, with a fantastic variety of campsites and lodges tailored exactly to our requests. I would not hesitate to book with Odyssey World again. Every one of the guides, drivers and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and we have made memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you!

A mother and daughter Borneo adventure – July 2022
Borneo is such a special place and we both loved our day in Kuala Lumpur. The city hotel was fabulous and we walked miles on foot today exploring all around the botanical gardens and a small part of the city. Definitely need to return to KL to see more of it on another occasion!
There are so many amazing highlights from our trip that it is difficult to narrow it down. Every day was special. However, one most memorable moment was when an Orangutan crossed right in front of us as my daughter andd I walked along the road back to our accommodation in Sepilok. It was literally feet away from us!
Also, nothing can beat the evening sunset cruises along the river at dusk from Abai Lodge – spotting the Probiscus monkeys in the trees, fireflies lighting up the undergrowth and the odd crocodile basking on the shoreline.
All the accommodation was absolutely top notch and we enjoyed the variety on the tour of experiencing one night in a swanky city hotel followed by the next night in a wooden lodge on stilts on the edge of the rainforest. All the accommodation was immaculately clean and catered for our every need. We particularly enjoyed our villa on Guya Island which was extremely luxurious and the resort provided a host of watersports and activities which we made the most of.
I can’t rate Odyssey World highly enough. I have never experienced such first class service from any other Tour Operator I have used in the past and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. They take you to the most amazing parts of the world, using local guides to support you during your stay, thus allowing you to completely relax and immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of whichever country you are visiting.
My advice would be: don’t hesitate – book a trip with Odyssey World today and take yourself on an adventure!

An incredible Borneo honeymoon – July 2022
We had the most incredible honeymoon in Borneo, it really felt like a once in a lifetime trip. We were really impressed by how well organised everything was, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing once we were there. It was the perfect mix of nature, wildlife, adventure, good food and relaxation – I don’t think we could have asked for a better honeymoon. Some of the many highlights included a river cruise watching a wild orangutan up close and seeing the fireflies at night, walking across the canopy in the middle of the breathtaking rainforest at Danum Valley and snorkelling on Gaya Island. We had the most amazing time, and wish we could do it all again!
We would highly recommend Odyssey World and our Borneo itinerary! We were really impressed by the company values, the communication and the information prior to travel. We had so many questions before booking our honeymoon, and Felicia was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable and patient.

A wildlife-filled Namibian excursion – June 2022
We would like to thank you for your most professional, responsive and kind support of our trip. Everything that was planned ran smoothly. We have been accepted in a very friendly and warm way.
We are absolutely sure that you made the most effective plan for us – all aspects such as self-driving, quality of accommodation, as well as game drives and cruises.
We have gained a high level of confidence in your organisation – would definitely recommend to our friends.

A breathtaking Borneo experience – June 2022
The people were so pleased to have tourism back. Our money will hopefully go towards future conservation and education about nature. Amazing, breathtaking, memorable – 5 stars!

A remarkable Saudi Arabian sojourn – March 2022
Last year I planned to travel in March this year to Saudi Arabia for a sightseeing holiday. I contacted a couple of travel agents who were unable to plan a one-off tailor-made trip for one person. Then I came across Odyssey World and by coincidence found myself talking to the owner Felicia Severns. From that moment onwards everything fell into place and organised for me, nothing was too much trouble and very quickly an itinerary was created which was exactly what I had wanted.
Saudia Arabia is not the easiest country to travel in and there are always a few minor problems like a taxi not showing up or Saudi Railways changes its schedule or in one case my hotel had given away my room when I arrived in Riyadh. All these hurdles were immediately sorted out by the local agents acting on behalf of Odyssey World, which was most impressive.
Possibly what impressed me most was the standard of my four guides that was organised for me. In all four cases, their English was excellent as was their knowledge of the places I was visiting.
I can’t recommend Odyssey World more highly based on my personal experience and I look forward to travelling with them again.

A once in a lifetime trip to Borneo – June 2022
The highlight of our trip was the river cruises in the jungle – seeing the wild elephants, orangutan and proboscis monkeys along with fireflies and other wildlife was a truly once in a lifetime experience!
From start to finish it has been an absolute pleasure to have booked with Odyssey World. They have been so kind and patient with queries and requests and certainly did not disappoint in ensuring we had the holiday of a lifetime, with experiences that will say with us forever and always bring a smile.

An exciting adventure in Jordan – May 2022
This was our first holiday in 3 years and it was really amazing. Jordan is a beautiful country and your people took really good care of us!
The backdrop of Jordinian scenery was amazing! Shaumari was really wonderful. And unexpected. The park ranger who accompanied us was very knowledgeable and went beyond his duty to inform, educate and entertain. Beit Sitti and Petra Kitchen were both immersive and intimate experiences. All the hotels were good. The Movenpick in Aqaba was truly wonderful.
Our first guide at Petra, Abdullah was really exceptional. It is difficult to keep teenagers interested and he was very good at not just holding my daughter’s attention but also piquing it! And most importantly – Mr Jehad, special mention to our lovely driver who made our journeys so memorable with his stories. We learned so much about the people and the country through him, which made our experience so much richer.
My family and I would like to thank you for arranging our holiday so well. You took on board all my requests and created a really good itinerary. I hope we can travel with you again soon. Best wishes to you and your team!

A wonderful anniversary spent in Namibia – May 2022
We are back at home and readjusting to life back in the UK after a fantastic holiday! The lodges were great and all made a specific gesture with regard to our 30th wedding anniversary which was very nice, so thank you for that. The Namibian people were warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
We have many special memories of the trip and are not sure how we will ever find a holiday that will match up to this one!

A very pleasant experience in Jordan – May 2022
Loved trip to Jerash. Hotel in Amman was clean and comfortable and well located. Petra was fantastic as was Petra Guest House. Really enjoyed Petra Kitchen and would recommend. Staff there were really helpful.
Liz was very helpful and efficient!

A wildlife-filled adventure in Namibia – May 2022
We went for the wildlife and of course, there is so much of it you can’t be disappointed and having a rhino cross the road in front of us in Etosha really made the trip. We stayed at some great lodges and Camp Kipwe stands out as the most amazing place.
Madri couldn’t have worked any harder. Every little query I had I received a prompt reply with helpful advice and suggestions. Nothing was too much trouble.
This was our second trip to Namibia arranged through Odyssey World and we can’t fault the service. We have had two wonderful trips and feel totally secure and confident that everything will go smoothly to plan. 5 stars!

An unforgettable honeymoon in Borneo – April 2022
The accommodation was lovely – they really made an effort and gave little extra touches because it was our honeymoon.
Felicia was exceptional with helping us finally get on our honeymoon. She made everything so seamless and as hassle free as possible. She understood what we wanted and made it happen to the best of her abilities, always keeping us in the know of any changes. She gave us an exceptional experience and a honeymoon we will remember and treasure for a very long time. I would highly recommend Odyssey World.

Some joyful Costa Rican respite – April 2022
The wildlife in Costa Rica is amazing, we loved all of the destinations but particularly Torteguero where we went kayaking and manual Antonio where the sun shone and the beach was lovely. We also thought that Arenal was spectacular.
Overall we had an amazing time and the itinerary ensured we saw the best of Costa Rica and some amazing wildlife. The pace was great we had relax time alongside adventure. I would highly recommend this trip to nature lovers and those seeking a little adventure.

A very memorable Namibian Safari – April 2022
The best holiday I’ve had in 30+ years of travelling. The most memorable part was the wild animal encounters and breathtaking landscape, I’d advise anyone taking the same trip to rise early and take time to look and listen to the creatures of the Earth around you.
I felt the influence of responsible travel in benefitting local people, reducing environmental impacts, and supporting conservation. 5 stars!

A special trip to Oman – March 2022
What a wonderful country Oman is! A truly great place & proud people.
Trevor & myself wish to thank you very much for battling through many hurdles to get this experience off the tarmac.
Hotels, coach rides & cities were marvellous. Omani guide & driver too were brilliant. The icing on the cake when we were able to tour the RAFO air base in Masirah and Salalah.
Overall the visit to Oman in 2022 was damned good. Thank you Odyssey World, but to you Liz, hug & hugs & more hugs for the persistence in achieving the end game.

The picturesque paradise of Costa Rica – February 2022
Arenal springs resort was superb, reception upgraded our room to superior master suite which was amazing. The zip-wiring was both terrifying and exhilarating and so glad we did it. The white water rafting was fabulous as was our raft guide, Mario, who was exceptional. The waterfall tour was great and our guide young Lorenza was just great.
The trips, the guiding and the food were all very excellent at Pachira.
We want to thank you Felicia for putting together a totally amazing trip. Costa Rica will always stay in my heart as a tropical paradise like no other. Great ethos about the planet, sustainability and all the current trends.
Thank you for delaying the pick up to airport as we did a great hike and had a great lunch before leaving.
Looking forward to the next one!

Finally, our Namibian Honeymoon! – January 2022
We always knew we wanted to go to Namibia for our honeymoon but this trip exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The beauty of this country is nothing short of exceptional and the team at Odyssey World were great when putting together an itinerary that enabled us to see as much as we could during our 1 month trip. All we can say is: we can’t wait to go back!

Cycling & Safari in Tanzania – July 2021
We were extremely pleased with our holiday! We were hesitant about going this summer but we are so pleased we didn’t push it off another year. Liz was so thorough, professional and understanding throughout the planning and developed the perfect customized tour for us. We really had a little taste of the culture, differing habitats, flora and fauna in an mostly active holiday. She understood our needs and was a delight to work with.
Once again thank you for this amazing experience and working with such unique special people.

Borneo, here we come! – June 2020
I can honestly say that I have never had such a positive, personal and rewarding experience with any other travel company than I have had with Odyssey World. They more than tick all the boxes, they go the full extra mile to ensure each and every customer is fully looked after and has the most rewarding holiday experience.
I have been delighted with the service I have received from Odyssey World – they have helped me find the perfect travel experience I was looking for in Borneo, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Covid-19 Travel Disruption – July 2020
You were absolutely fantastic last year, keeping us informed and taking the time to explain our options to us in full. You helped us to feel secure in our decision to sadly postpone our trip (thank goodness we did!), and were quick to respond whenever you had heard back from the different providers.

Namibia: A trip we will remember for a long time – October 2019
We had the most amazing time. Your planning was fantastic; we saw everything we had hoped for and more. All the accommodation was acceptable, some delightfully quirky, others outstanding.
The truck was perfect, with [your ground partners] offering great support and service.
All in all, a trip we will remember for a very long time. We are very grateful for everything you did to make our time in your wonderful country [Namibia] so memorable.

A fabulous trip to Botswana – July 2019
Thanks for all your help in organising a fabulous trip for us – we loved it! We had fantastic game viewing! All the camps were great and we were looked after really well.
Jacks was our favourite- a really special place and experience. Pom Pom was better than Guns, though it was nice to be in Guns as a super small camp (complete with elephants roaming through!).
The game viewing in Chobe was some of the best (fab for birds as well as the bigger game) and being on boats was super easy, dust and bump free!
Having a bit of a break from the safari at Vic falls was very civilised and is a super hotel with real 5 star service.
Thanks again,
A & C Nimmo
Left my heart in Borneo – July 2019
We had a fantastic holiday and really appreciated your recommendations and how organised everything was.
Our trip started with 2 nights in the Majestic in KL – your choice of hotel was exceptional – very elegant and we thoroughly enjoyed its charm – which got the holiday off to a great start. Afternoon tea in the tea lounge and cocktails in the smoking bar…
The absolute highlight was the 5 nights spent [in the jungle] lodges – we had the most fantastic guide (Eric) for our 4 days on the river – he brought it to life with his knowledge and keen eye for wildlife. He also shared his Malaysian heritage with us which felt like a privilege. We had great sightings of wild orangutans and elephants. We thought the river surroundings and jungle were very special and we also thought our trip to the village house for lunch was a highlight. Just wonderful.
[Your ground agents] also truly look after their guests – to the extent that Eric even checked us in for our next flight at the airport – we were bowled over by how organised it was and how well we were looked after.
We then went on to Gaya Island report – to be honest it took me a little while to adjust to this as I had left my heart in the jungle! But I did get in the swing of it. Again a good recommendation. It was expensive, but we were prepared for this. Great snorkelling and enough to do for the 4 nights we were there.
Overall, a truly special family holiday that we will never forget. I am hoping we do another adventure type holiday at some point and you will be our first point of call for any enquiry.

Exhilarating Borneo – July 2019
We had an amazing time, it was incredible to see orangutans, snakes, sun bears and fireflies.
Our guide for Abai & Sepilok, Bryant, was wonderful – he had so much knowledge of the natural world and the river cruises were exhilarating.
The lodges were perfect, the staff accommodating and friendly. I can’t praise the staff enough, they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and my dietary requirements were catered for. A particular highlight was having breakfast in the jungle at Abai lodge surrounded by a wild pig!

Two very close encounters in Borneo – March 2019
One of our main reasons for going to Borneo was to see orangutans & one of the highlights was seeing them in the wild in the Danum Valley Rainforest. We were particularly lucky as we had two very close encounters – one orangutan was crossing the road in front of us and another was in a ditch close by and we then watched it build its nest for the night.
We enjoyed all of our trip and appreciated the variety. Bunga Raya Resort on Gaya Island was wonderful. So picturesque with white sands and blue seas with the jungle in the background.
An unexpected bonus was meeting some lovely people from different parts of the world through are various treks and river cruises.
From our initial contact, Felicia was great. She listened carefully to our particular requirements and planned an excellent itinerary for us. She kept in regular touch, made all of our bookings, including flights, and managed to secure our preferred standard of accommodation. The final travel documents were detailed and accurate and the information provided about Borneo and what to take was very helpful.

Borneo is really stunning; it’s a shame we had to come back home…- January 2019
Everything ran perfectly smoothly- was very well organised and there was always someone to tell us where we needed to be and when, so we could relax as we didn’t have to worry about any of that. The people that we met (drivers, accommodation staff, tour guides) really made our holiday, everyone was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
The accommodation was amazing, especially the lodges, we loved being right in the rainforest and walking around the board walks in our spare time. The river and walking tours were also brilliant- we saw a tremendous amount of wildlife, including 5 wild orangutans which apparently is very lucky!
It was an absolutely incredible experience and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves nature and wildlife! Thank you so much, it was certainly the best trip we’ve ever had.

Our guides in Israel & Jordan…have become friends for life – November 2018
Good afternoon,
We had an extraordinary, exciting and wonderful holiday in Jordan and Israel. Your arrangements were exemplary and we were collected from airports and stations on time. Our guides in Jordan and Israel were wonderful and have become friends for life.

Climb Mt. Kinabalu – it’s not that bad!- September 2018
[Felicia] re-jigged our itinerary to fit in exactly what we wanted, chose great guides and accommodation.
Gaya Island Resort was obviously amazing, but we were also very impressed with the MY Jungle Lodge and the Danum Valley Lodge was spectacular. Our guide and driver for the KK / Mount Kinabalu portion was great – really helpful and went above and beyond helping us get good photos of the mountain en-route. Our guide in Danum Valley was absolutely superb (his knowledge of both nature and English was very impressive, and he had a great sense of humour too).
Danum Valley is a must. Climb Mount Kinabalu (it’s not that bad!) but take a spare set of dry clothes as it frequently rains on the ascent and it’s too cold in the lodge for things to dry. The Fisherman’s Cove restaurant at Gaya Island Resort is fantastic. And for enormous plates of delicious seafood in KK, try Seremban restaurant on the seafront.

An unforgettable family trip to Borneo – August 2018
Hi Felicia,
We had a great holiday, thanks. It was very well put together and felt like the right mix of relaxing vs. jungle treks and riverboat rides. The highlights were seeing all the crazy critters (stick insects, pill millipede, furry caterpillars, venomous snakes) and amazing mammals on show in the wild. We were lucky to see 3 wild orangutans, including a mum and child, herds of pigmy elephants on two separate river boat rides and gibbons swinging around the Tabin wildlife lodge. The hospitality from all the lodge and hotel staff was fantastic too and we always felt well looked after. The guides at Tabin and on the Kinabatangan river we all excellent – very knowledgeable, local and friendly. All the internal transfers and hand-offs worked really well – there was always someone waiting there for us – and it felt like a good order to be seeing everything in.
Thank you for putting together a great tour for us. The kids loved it too. It definitely worked well for kids our age (5 and 8) and people shouldn’t be putting off taking young kids on this kind of trip.
Cheers

Zimbabwe, a wildlife-filled adventure – August 2018
Odyssey found us a fantastic holiday. Everyone I spoke to was so knowledgeable and helpful.
[Our guides were] lovely – knew so much about the area, the wildlife and the culture. He was also a good laugh and very helpful and attentive when he was driving us around Hwange and when he was keeping us company at the hotel. He was also very good at spotting and showing us the animal tracks in the sand plus the signs to look out for when searching for a lion’s fresh kill.
Victoria Falls was an amazing spectacle. Make sure you do the walking tour with a guide to show you around.
Hwange National Park included a ride on the Elephant express train for us. A wonderful addition to our holiday and lots of fun. Both locations we stayed in offered close up encounters with Lions, Elephants, Hippos, Crocs, Wildebeests, Buffalos, Zebras, Giraffes, many types of antelope and birds large and small. Our favourites were the elephants and the zebras in terms of their beauty and quantity. The lions were so majestic and awe inspiring. We also learned so much from our guides.

Borneo, a special place to visit – April 2018
Got back today from a fabulous trip to Borneo put together by Felicia. I can honestly say that it exceeded all my expectations from start to finish. It was a great itinerary and everything was made so easy by the excellent in-country companies who were always there when we needed them. George was our guide on the river and he was a star. All the accommodation was of a high standard from the well placed city hotel through the river and forest lodges to the sheer luxury on Gaya Island. Borneo really is a special place to visit and our trip packed it all in with a good mix of animals, sightseeing and relaxation. Odyssey World really gave us a holiday to remember.

Making Odyssey friends in Borneo – April 2018
Hi Felicia,
We met up with other Odyssey clients which was lovely. The children are still chatting on whatsapp!
We had a fantastic holiday and everything great. The itinerary you set for us was perfect and we all enjoyed it completely. I don’t think there was anything that we would have done differently.
Thank you so much for all your help! We just need to start saving for our next trip!
Obviously, when we do, we know who to contact!
Thank you!

Local communities in Borneo – April 2018
- What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The opportunities to see wildlife and amazing birds and butterflies at very close quarters. - What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Bring a good camera and binoculars, stock up on insect repellent and say yes to every opportunity to go out and see new things. - Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
By being in Borneo, staying in locally owned and run hotels and using local a tour company the money we paid for our trip was mostly going into the local economy and providing employment. The relationship between Abai Jungle lodge and the village on the other side of the river was mutually beneficial.
Visiting the local conservation projects prompted debate over the palm oil industry and illustrated the difficult balance that must be achieved in order to maintain a good life for both people and animals. - Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was a wonderful adventure and exceeded our expectations. The organisation was faultless, accommodation clean and comfortable, food excellent – no upset stomachs – and the wildlife fantastic. We felt that it was a privileged to be there and to be able to see all that we did.

A welcoming trip to Jordan – April 2018
Hello
Just wanted to say thank you to your whole team for making our vacation a success!
We had a wonderful time, even better than expected in so many ways.
Jordan is a beautiful country with the friendliest of people.
… one of the key message I received is that Jordan needs ambassadors to encourage tourism. As per our driver … ´they have very noisy neighbours but Jordan is beautiful and peaceful with a friendly and welcoming people!’
Thank you for making this possible.
Best to you all,
Louise

Returning to Jordan after 24 years – March 2018
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Interacting with the people of Jordan will be the first memories we keep. The beauty and majesty of the country, combined with the living history was exciting to experience. From the green fields of the north to the southern desert, preserved roman Jerash to Nabatean Petra, all beautiful to see.
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don’t be in a hurry, absorb what comes your way. Take time with the daily interactions (skipping over the souvenir sellers though) and enjoy the genuine hospitality. The history has many layers, so try to relate to the history, past and that in progress.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The vacation benefits the local populace in two ways, first by staying in the preserves and in the Wadi Rum camps, jobs are created where none existed a few years ago. Second, many of the shopping opportunities are at sites created to benefit the Queen Noor foundations employing and giving skills to locals that do not have traditional schooling opportunities or good jobs in remote locations. So skip the cheap imported goods and buy the hand crafted items where many times you can meet the artist too.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Extremely satisfying. We found what we were looking for. A great diversity of locations and activities allowing personal interaction with many of people of Jordan. In eight days we ranged the length of the country, visited many interesting sites, yet never felt rushed, allowing us to linger and enjoy each moment.
We can’t put a ‘value’ on the memories we just made, so it is impossible to give a ‘value for money’ assessment for your team in Jordan. Just know we won’t wait another 24 years before our next visit and we will work with you again without a doubt.
We cannot say enough about our driver and our guide. Either would have been excellent, both together was just too much fun. Everyone knows them and vice versa. We can’t count how many drivers and guides we met across the country. They are both flexible yet goal oriented. A rare balancing act indeed. Just how good are they, let me relate:
Thanks for the memories…
PS: the hotels and meals included were very good relative to your pricing. The transportation and the guides handling all tickets, access to sites, formalities at the airport and recommendations of where to dine exceeded our needs.
Again, thank you and your associates for providing a wonderful experience that will not be forgotten.
Best to you,
S. CUPP
The highlights of Borneo – February 2018
We booked a 7 day/3 centre trip in Borneo with Odyssey World… also booked 5 flights for us. Everything went according to plan and O W notified us a few days in advance when there was a time change to one flight.
We were very impressed with the service we received. Sepilok Nature Resort was beautiful and definitely the best choice for us in the area. We loved seeing the orangutans and sun bears. We also took ourselves off to the Rainforest Discovery Centre for bird watching. Abai Jungle Lodge was very special. The transfer from Sepilok to Abai was efficient and friendly and the sea/river part by boat was exhilarating! To travel up river in the Borneo jungle, seeing virtually no settlements, was magical. To stay at Abai in the beautiful setting was very special. Our guide, Bryant, was very knowledgeable. We were especially interested in bird watching and it didn’t disappoint. Bryant was able to spot and identify birds as well as other wildlife. On our last morning he and our boatman took us up river to Sukau where we had breakfast. Although Sukau was lovely I was very glad we had stayed at Abai Lodge. There were other resorts near Sukau and there was road access so it didn’t have the same feeling of remoteness.
From Sukau we were driven to the Borneo Nature Tours office at Lahad Datu. After completing paperwork and each receiving a smart water bottle we were driven to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Danum Valley. Our driver was excellent, negotiating the gravel road well.
The setting and facilities of BRL were excellent. Our guide, Akmal, had superb knowledge of the environment. He was able to tell us so much about the trees and plants. His ability to call and find birds was excellent. He was a lovely man and we felt we couldn’t have had a better guide to share our rainforest adventure with. The food was also superb. Given the remote location and the logistics required we did not expect such a high standard. The four chefs excelled themselves.
Reluctantly we had to leave and we were transferred back to Lahad Datu airport along the gravel road
All the drivers and guides we had during the week were of a high standard. They were competent, friendly and always on time, arriving at meeting venues before the allotted time. All these things helped to make our holiday a very enjoyable experience.
Thank you again

Mountains & Forts of Oman – February 2018
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The five day trip to the mountains. The scenery was wonderful and the guide and driver that we had made it even more memorable because they were such lovely people. They treated us as friends and really added to the trip.
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take your time! There is so much to absorb. Two weeks was only just enough and we’re really glad that we built in a couple of days with nothing planned.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Our guides were fantastic Omani people and we did come across a few other Omanis working at Nizwa Fort and Jabrin Castle. Unfortunately there don’t seem to be many small locally run hotels and as we stayed in mainly big resorts we felt that they didn’t benefit local people, being staffed by “ex pats”, had huge environmental impact in both their construction and day to day running – all that water being used for endless washing of towels and watering of grass! All the hotels we stayed in said they were concerned to employ local people and to care for the environment and some did it better than others. Tourism in Oman does seem to focus on big international hotel resorts. Very comfortable and in some cases exquisitely luxurious but we did feel that the environmental impact was great.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Fantastic. Amazing varied scenery, friendly hospitable people. Excellent hosts.

Cambodia & Vietnam Travels – February 2018
Hi Felicia
Just wanted to say that the holiday exceeded all my expectations. We had a fantastic time and the choice of places to visit and hotels we stayed in were fantastic. We both loved all the experiences we had especially Halong Bay and the room we had was the best on the boat! Thanks for making our holiday the holiday of a lifetime for us both.
Thanks

Escorted tour of Jordan – October 2017
Our driver Naaseh was wonderful, and was helpfulness itself. Ahmed, our guide at Jerash, was both well-informed and a pleasure to deal with. Hassan, who drove us out into Wadi Rum at Captain’s Camp, managed to get us to wonderful viewpoints without anyone else around, despite the fact that it was at sunset, and there were fleets of other vehicles out at the same time.
I was surprised by quite how extensive and well preserved the remains of Jerash were, even having visited Pompeii and Rome. Two days at Petra allowed us to fit in both the big summit climbs, to the Monastery and High Place of Sacrifice, without exhausting ourselves, and Little Petra was well worth visiting. Top tip, for which we have our driver to thank, was booking a second day for Petra on the initial ticket. This only cost an additional 10 JD, whereas getting a second ticket would have cost us another 50 JD each.
Feynan Eco Lodge was excellent, great food and staff, but we were only there for one night. Likewise the Captain’s Camp at Wadi Rum.
We ended up spending quite a lot more on tips than we had expected, but this was also due to the outstanding service we received throughout.
I would also like to say here how much we enjoyed our trip. The itinerary worked well, and the services provided were excellent throughout. In particular, our driver Naaseh was wonderful, and could not have been more helpful. He played a large part in making our trip such a special experience.

Borneo – the holiday of a lifetime! October 2017
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Our stay at Abai Jungle Lodge was definitely the most memorable and exciting part of our trip. The location alongside the Kinabatangan River was incredible and it was a real privilege to be able to sleep on the outskirts of the jungle, listening to the sounds of animals all around us. We had proboscis monkeys right outside our lodge and macaques hanging around at breakfast, as well as Junior, the wild boar (a frequent visitor here) and his piglets. We loved every aspect of our time here, from the dawn and dusk boat trips to the night walks around the boardwalks. In addition, the lodges themselves were extremely comfortable and all the staff at the resort were brilliant. Also, as a vegetarian, I was very impressed with the food on offer for me as I had been worried there wouldn’t be much choice! The guides in particular went above and beyond to ensure everyone had the best experience they were very knowledgeable, friendly, fun and tried extremely hard to make s ure we saw as much wildlife as possible. I’ll never forgot the moment they spotted wild orangutans for us on the river.
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
I would recommend that other travellers make the most of all the additional wildlife activities available at every stage of the trip. In particular, I would recommend booking the night walks at Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary and Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Centre, as well as visiting the nature reserve at Rasa Ria Resort. At the latter, we did both a daytime jungle walk and a night walk and both were fantastic. The guides were very good and made the experience a lot of fun. Across all these walks we saw flying squirrels, a slow loris, a binturong, a stink badger and many reptiles, birds and insects. Well worth it! Also, if you have free time at Kota Kinabalu, I would recommend visiting the night market. Finally, one tip for Sepilok – try to go to the afternoon orangutan feeding if you can. It’s a lot less busy as busloads of tourists come for the morning one, so we made the most of staying nearby to switch our itinerary around and start with the Sun Bear sanctuary instead.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
To some extent, I believe our stay at Abai helped to benefit the local village. We took part in a tree planting project there, made a contribution and visited the village. As far as I understand it, the Abai resort sources fish and vegetables from the local village, which obviously helps them too and saves them from having to travel to Sandakan to sell their wares. We also adopted an orangutan from the sanctuary and our entry fees to all the sanctuaries in Sepilok, as well as at the nature reserve in Rasa Ria, also hopefully went towards future conservation. Obviously, we would have liked to have done more and tourism of any kind obviously has some environmental impact, but we were pleased to book with ethical operators.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
For us, it was the holiday of a lifetime and certainly didn’t disappoint. We would love to go back!

Forts and castles of Oman – October 2017
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Visiting some of the interesting sights as we got inside Oman, the forts, the castles, the desert, wadis and swimming in the sinkhole was a fun highlight for me on a hot day!
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Take time to visit the country and consider having enough time to see the main sights but give you time to relax at the end of the day in some of the wonderful locations we stayed in. Tour company were excellent and everything ran to plan without a hitch!
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, especially when we were outside Muscat in the desert and Nizwa. The driver was local, we visited a Bedouin family and some of the local villages and souks. The stay in the desert and Nizwa particularly benefited locals and reduced environmental impact in their accommodations.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Great first time visit to Oman – exceeded my expectations!

Feeding Orangutans – September 2017
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing a wild orangutan with a baby swinging through the trees.
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Spend at least a couple of days at Sepilok if you’re keen on seeing as much of the orangutans as possible. We stayed 2 nights and were able to to go to 3 feeding sessions and was brilliant to see the orangutans at different times of the day.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we went to a local village for lunch and there were lots of opportunities at Sepilok to donate to local charities.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, the tour arrangements made in advance ran exactly to plan. All our transfers were waiting for us at every stage without any hiccups, Our travel advisor was amazing beforehand and listened to everything we asked for. Highly recommend booking through Odyssey Travel.

Family adventures in Borneo – August 2017
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The adult male Orangutan we saw on our boat trip from Abai jungle lodge to Kinabatagan jungle lodge and the pygmy elephants we saw at the riverside on our first boat cruise and much more besides!!
Our paths crossed with a number of families and honeymooners on similar trips, talking to them and learning their experiences of Borneo only enhanced our enjoyment of the holiday. The local guides were extremely knowledgeable about their habitat and answered all questions regarding the environment and the wildlife.
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You are always on the go in the rainforest with activities planned for you to do, by the time you reach Gaya island you will have earned the downtime to relax. Take plenty of mosquito repellent for the rain forest and plenty of sun cream for the scorching sun of Gaya Island.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We planted a tree with the proceeds going back to the local villages and a lot of the guides are from the forest. Having spoken to the guides the village way of life is declining as children become more educated and move to the cities and towns. The guides we met in the Tabin wildlife reserve were educated, from the forest and were passionate about what they did. The balance between the tourist impact and that of the palm oil companies is a fine balance but all sides appear to be working together to ensure the sustainability of the environment.
How would you rate your holiday overall?
The whole family had a fantastic time, we met lots of different people, be it guides and fellow tourists. We are now considering where to head for next year.

Borneo Jungle Trekking – July 2017
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Difficult-there were many. Seeing a wild orang, just outside the cave at Gomantong, close up and “posing” for us, or rounding a bend on the Kinabatangan river to see 30-40 pigmy elephants of all ages on the bank. A set of experiences rather than just a holiday.
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be clear what you want from the holiday/what you would like to see, but wildlife isn’t predictable.
Take a camera with a good zoom if identifying birds/insects is a priority and an ID book or note names as you go along as when you get home it is difficult to remember.
Allow time to relax afterwards – early starts, multiple flights and living out of a suitcase can be very tiring.
The leeches are manageable without socks if you are careful and not nearly the “horror” I was expecting! Don’t expect to do any shopping unless you plan this in to your trip – but this wasn’t important to us.
How would you rate your holiday overall?
Perfect! The highlight was the Borneo rainforest lodge which must be in the most beautiful place in the world. The guides used throughout the trip were knowledgeable and flexible to what we wanted to see and do and special thanks to Acoh, Freda, Rose and Denny. All the transport arrangements went well and service at hotels excellent.

Camp Leakey – June 2017
Good communication from the beginning to the end.
The staff on the boat were all great, they took so good care of us and treated us like princesses. Our guide was perfect, couldn´t have asked for a better guide. He was friendly and polite, and answered all of our questions without hesitation. He knew everything about the forest and the animals. When we were sailing and he spotted a monkey or other animals like crocodile, he always came to us right away very excited, hey look, do you see the monkey? We always asked ourselves, wow how did he ntice that?
The food was awesome, we always looked forward to eating. We were never hungry or thirsty.
Don’t forget the mosquito repellent!
R. Ragnardottir
Honeymoon in Thailand – June 2017
Odyssey explained everything clearly, and accommodated our minor adjustments with ease.
The tour guide for our duration in Bangkok was fantastic, really helpful and knowledgeable, very friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. Really made us feel welcome from the minute we landed (although we can’t remember his full name!)
Zeavola resort was our favourite, staff were very helpful and they remembered all of our complimentary honeymoon extras. Location is fantastic, with enough to do there that you don’t notice how isolated it is.
The Elephant Hills experience and camp was absolutely fantastic, definitely our highlight of the trip. We would strongly recommend this, however we would say it would be better to spend 2 night in the rainforest camp, and 1 night in floating camp on the lake. There are more daytime excursions available from the rainforest camp, whereas the floating camp has enough to cover 1 night, but if you spend 2 nights there you will either be just relaxing, or repeating some activities.

Hiking the Inca Trail in Peru – June 2017
Odyssey were very responsive; our suggestions were incorporated and options discussed.
The Inca trail was the highlight, a must for all visitors healthy enough to do so. For the adventurous perhaps climbing Huayna Picchu as well.
The guide in Sacred Valley was exceptional. Very informative, friendly and engaging.
Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion had a lovely setting and excellent service. Staff and guides at Inkaterra Hacienda were also very good.
If you have the time perhaps to visit lake titicaca too. Add a day in lima… to venture into the city.
I. Bowry
Singapore & Sarawak – June 2017
What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing orang utans in the wild at Kinabatangan, and in the semi-wild at Sepilok, and seeing a herd of elephants cross the river at Kinabatangan seeing Deer Cave and Clearwater Cave at Mulu.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people?
Yes, we were made very welcome at longhouses
How would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, better even than I expected.

Trekking in Oman – February 2017
We were overall very happy with the pre-departure documentation and service. Clear and comprehensive…Good at creating an itinerary that matched our needs and saved us a lot of research time. Also sensitive to our budget needs (in the end offering a self-drive trip which was perfectly suitable).
The local agents gave us a very comprehensive and helpful itinerary, with regular milestones, to help us navigate our way around the country.
Our hiking guide Abdul was phenomenal! Very friendly and eager to tell us about Oman. As part of the Mistfat loop he took us to a remote house in the mountains, where we had a coffee and dates with inhabitants. This was a very nice experience.
This was a very exciting, fun and adventurous holiday which we will fondly remember. Highlights were meeting the villagers during the Misfat loop walk, the night in the desert and bathing in Wadi Bani Khalid. I would recommend that other travellers self-drive, it gave us a lot of flexibility.

Classic Jordan – October 2016
Liz was brilliant throughout. Rang us on a weekend about our enquiry and put a bespoke tour together for us from this. Answered all our questions promptly and helped with the pricing too.
The best hotels were The Dead Sea Spa and Movenpick Tala Bay – faultless service, great choice and quality of food.
The guides in Jordan were great at meeting us on our arrival and whisked us through immigration. Similarly in Aqaba they delayed the pick-up so we did not have to get up as early as planned, labelled our suitcases and got us from the entrance of the airport to airside in under 20 minutes. They were superb. Sami the guide for the day in Petra was also brilliant, superbly informative and stayed with us for nearly two hours longer than the allotted time.
The information regarding dress code was rather conservative and left us a little nervous as to what to expect. We wore long trousers and sleeves for the first two days but our guide advised that it was not necessary to cover up as much, as Jordanians were aware that our culture was different to theirs so were quite accepting of wearing shorts. Consequently in Petra and Aqaba we did, and did not experience any issues.
There were many memorable moments, from wading into the Dead Sea and beginning to float when the waters reached our waists, the evening visit to Petra, the day tour of Petra, snorkelling in the Red Sea and most of the other things we saw. There is so much history to see.
The best advice that I can give is to other travellers is to go. There is a lot of history along with an insight into another culture.

Natal Beach & Wildlife, South Africa – September 2016
My questions were answered promptly and efficiently, over all my experience with Odyssey World was first class.
Both the Oyster Box and our suite at Mkuze Falls were excellent in every respect, we couldn’t have experienced anything better.
Lizette in reception at Mkuze Falls went out of her way to help when there was a problem with the wi-fi.
There were so many highlights that it would be wrong to single out any.
At the Oyster Box the splendour, the high class room with the four poster bed, the vast range of food available, the attention to detail, the efficiency of the staff, and not forgetting the sight of the 15/20ft waves breaking on the shore.
The suite at Mkuze was out of this world, the view fantastic, the game drives captivating and the attention to detail by the staff was first class.
I recommend this holiday totally.

Malaysia, Borneo & Brunei
The organisation of our holiday by Odyssey World was superb! We have already recommended your services to many of our family and friends. Every detail, every pick up, every tour, every hotel, everyone we came in contact with was exceptional. We have absolutely no complaints at all. It was perfect!
We were so happy with the prompt responses we had with our consultant [at Odyssey World]. We loved the way that she listened to our requests and always gave us the very best advice/suggestions to suit our needs
We loved the tranquillity and exceptional friendliness of MY Nature Resort in Sepilok but All [hotels’s] were exceptionally well chosen.
We can honestly say that you need to thank everyone. Everyone involved in transfers, as guides and hotel staff were all wonderful and we do not have a single complaint to make about anyone. The documentation was so meticulously organised that we felt in very safe hands. The documentation was outstanding. First class!
Highlights – Just everything! The Abai Jungle lodge experience, the tour of Brunei, the Rasa Ria Resort, the location of hotels in KK and KL- All brilliant.
The most memorable part was the Gazebo dinner at the Rasa Ria Resort on our 30th Wedding Anniversary. If we do not live long enough to celebrate another major milestone, that paradisiac event will forever remain in our hearts.

Borneo Honeymoon & Gaya Island – July 2016
Great information provided in the documentation – we never had to worry or check things while we were there. It was very clear and complete.
Favourite hotel: Loved them all – the Abai River Lodge was beautiful. Sepilok Nature Reserve was stunning and the Gaya Island Resort was very luxurious. All the staff were fantastic, so friendly.
Basri, our guide in Abai, was lovely and very knowledgeable. Sunny the night walk guide at Sepilok was fantastic (really recommend doing that walk!) and all the team at Gaya worked hard to make our stay special.
Top Tips:
- Buy 50% DEET before you go – we did and weren’t bitten once!
- DO the night walk at Sepilok, it’s wonderful.
- Eat with the villagers at Abai – the food is amazing
- Do the mangrove forest kayaking at Gaya – the naturalist is amazing (he totally sings to the birds and they respond) and it’s just beautiful
- Snorkelling at Gaya is brill just straight off the beach (head right of the jetty).

Borneo on a Shoestring – July 2016
All extremely good, but Gaya Island and Sepilok Nature Resort fantastic.
It was just generally so much less stressful being met at each place, taken to the right places and having everything organised so well and so clearly. We didn’t have to have a moment’s concern about anything.
Highlights of the trip: All of it. Have already recommended it to a number of people.

Peninsula Malaysia & Borneo on a shoestring – February 2016
A very good service provided [from Odyssey World]. Your consultant clearly knew the area we were visiting and this provided reassurance.
KL Journal, Sepilok Nature Reserve, the Sabah lodges (Abai and Riverside), Shangri-La Rasa Ria were all excellent.
Our guide at Borneo Adventures, Erdy was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and professional. He also had a very friendly personality and his enthusiasm was infectious. A 5-star guide! I would also congratulate all staff at the Rasa Ria. I’ve never been so cared for at a hotel before.
An excellent trip – particularly the Borneo part. So much amazing wildlife, some even a surprise to the rangers/guides eg the pangolin spotted on the night walk at Sepilok. It may have been a regular visitor but the guides were very excited and it rubbed off on us. A very special moment.
We had packed quite heavy duty walking boots which were unnecessary and inappropriate. Lightweight trainers would be adequate for the jungle part of the trip. Also I would strongly recommend good quality binoculars – you may only get a chance to see these birds and animals once.
[Odyssey World] strongly advised against travelling to the Cameron Highlands during the Chines New Year. I now understand why. Whilst the celebrations themselves were an addition to our trip, the traffic travelling to the highlands was very heavy and the journey took hours.
W. Hislop
Highlights of Oman and Dubai – January 2016
Our favourite hotels were The Ahmedia Heritage Hotel – full of character, unlike much of Dubai which is so modern and The view – the name says it all.
Mohammad, our guide for the 5 day tour of Oman made our holiday extra-special. He was so pleasant and helpful, we felt really lucky to have him as our guide
Our Highlights: the turtles at Ras al Jinz. We were out of season and not expecting much but we were lucky and saw several. Also the car getting stuck in sand in the desert and the rescue vehicle getting stuck, too. It made quite an adventure. Also loved the wadis, they were beautiful!
[Odyssey World] arranged an excellent itinerary. 5 Stars.

Tailor-Made South Africa – November 2015
I wanted to contact you to say a huge thank you for organising our trip to South Africa. What a fantastic time we had, owed in no small part to you!
I think we all agreed that it was probably the best holiday any of us had ever had! What a wonderful place SA is (with very sadly a lot of social & political problems).
Thanks to you we stayed in some diverse & marvellous places. Amanzi Island Lodge in Kynsna was probably my favourite. What a place & we were so lucky that the weather was roasting while we were there, enabling us to go out swimming/paddling in the lagoon. However,so much of the accommodation you booked for us was so good.
As for Kariega – well I never thought I’d get so ‘bowled over’ by seeing wild animals live. To see a lioness come & sit against the front wheel of your jeep, or a family of elephants demolishing bushes & trees, makes an unbelievable impression doesn’t it.
We very much appreciated what you did for us.
P & A Mawdsley
Borneo Honeymoon – September 2015
How would you rate Odyssey World? Odyssey was extremely helpful when we misplaced our itinerary out in Borneo. They arranged for the documents to be emailed over to help our journey at short notice.
What were your favourite hotels? Bunga Raya was fantastic. Sepilok was excellent too. Abai and Kinabangtan were relatively basic, as expected, but were still comfortable and the staff at Abai in particular were outstanding. At both Abai and Kinabangtan they prepared our rooms beautifully and gave us a special cake. At Abai they even sang us a special song, which was really touching. We would highly recommend those places.
Who made your holiday extra special? Albert, our guide on the Kinabangtan River, was absolutely superb. The staff at Abai were wonderful in how they welcomed us. All of the staff at Bunga Raya were excellent, but special praise to Eduardo.
It was an unforgettable honeymoon

Tailor-made Borneo – October 2015
No question was too silly. A good experience. The holiday was tailored to my requirements. Nothing was a problem. My travel specialist asked me what I wanted and compiled my itinerary. She altered everything I asked making this the perfect holiday for us. Well organised throughout. Always someone with you explaining how the day would progress. We were accompanied to airport check in ad not left until we had boarding cards. That is truly exceptional service.
Our favourite hotel was Traders’ Kuala Lumpur tower view room. Breathtaking. Sepilok Lodge – So peaceful. Abai Lodge – escape from daily life. Transported to a life with no trappings I wish I was back there. The most memorable part was staying in Abai lodge and sailing up the Kinabatangan river watching wildlife in their natural habitat. It was perfect. Excellent boat driver and guide. So friendly they were like a friend. Punctual, knowledgeable and even provided tea and coffee and biscuits on every boat journey. Seeing a wild Orangutan swinging through the trees carrying a baby was magical as were the elephants on the river bank, the Proboscis Monkeys, birds and night time fireflies. It was magical.
Sheiro our guide in Abai made our holiday extra special. Such a lovely person. Only 21 but a font of knowledge and he loved his job and the animals and it showed. Joe the boat driver at the lodge good at spotting wildlife too.

Borneo on a shoestring & Gaya Island – September 2015
Was there anyone in particular that made your holiday extra special, such as a guide or hotel staff member?
Shiuro our guide at Abai Jungle Lodge and Charles at Gaya Island Resort
Were there any other highlights from your holiday that you would like to share with us?
Trip of a lifetime and would recommend highly. Great value for money in comparison to what other agents could offer

Borneo Holiday – September 2015
Our holiday highlights: The time we spent at Abai lodge and the care taken by all the staff and guides was absolutely faultless. We saw some amazing wildlife, all thanks to Alan who made it his mission to help us.
Our room and the facilities on Gaya Island were amazing – our accomodation was exremely plush.
All in all our holiday was truly wonderful, I can’t stress enough how efficient the guides and drivers were, and all so friendly. Alan our guide round Abai lodge went above and beyond the call of duty in his quest to help us see as much wildlife as possible. Michael our guide around the city of Kota Kinabalu was very interesting and knowledgeable.

Borneo and Gayana Eco Resort – August 2015
Everything was well organized and we did not have to think about anything! Everyone turned up when they said they would! We had wondered if we should spend any time at all in KK but really glad we did – it is a great little city – not smart, no pretensions, but enough to do for a couple of days – that without doing any of the tours. Will do those next time!
Ron – Ronald K Asuncion – our guide at Kinabatangan was organized, hard working, and extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with! In fact all the guides (Albert and others I cannot remember all the names) at the Sandakan/Kinabatangan part of our tour were all great.
Our favourite hotel was probably Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, because of the experience on the river, the amazing guide we had and the group of people we were with, but all accommodations were great – Horizon Hotel in KK comfortable and great for a city hotel, Sepilok Lodge lovely (better than anticipated) and Gayana Eco Resort simply wonderful.

Botswana Adventure – March 2013
Dear Liz,
We had a great trip and were very impressed by the Safari organisation and the airline which flew us seamlessly from camp to camp. We also benefited from the fact that we were the only people on this particular “Great Wilderness Journey” so had the full attention of the excellent private guide for the whole period. At Linyanti the camp was opened for the first time this year for our benefit. Tubu Tree the upgrade was also very good, as was Xigera, Kalahari Plains Camp and Toka Leya. The staff throughout were friendly, helpful and attentive. Each camp had its highlights and the food throughout was good and plentiful. Three nights at each camp proved about right with half a day “lost” for travelling.
As to sighting we were very lucky and saw everything we might have expected to see and more – wild dog, Cheetah, Leopard, Lion, Sitatunga, Pel’s Fishing Owl etc etc. The only omission was the “Black” lions of the Kalahari … Plenty of prints in the bush newspaper but no sighting!

It was amazing! We had such a great time. It was so so hot but we saw so many wonderful things. All of our tour guides were so friendly and helpful and really knowledgeable. There were so many highlights but I think the best ones were the temples (so many of them!!), the microlight flight- Eddie and Jo were great, we felt so safe in their hands and it was such an amazing rush! Would definitely do that microflight again! We loved the camping experience also- the local people were so friendly and hospitable. I have to say the Eco Lodge just was heavenly! I could of spent all week there! The food is amazing in Cambodia- Aidan even tried deep fried tarantula! Claire & Aiden, Cambodia Honeymoon, April 2011

Oman Holidays, Christmas 2011
I loved the night in the desert. The Bedouin tent style accommodation was charming while still comfortable with our own bathroom (open to the skies). The dinner was excellent and the place was very well run. We watched the sun set from the top of a dune well away from anyone else and all we could see was a sea of soft, silky sand. Magic. Later we gazed at the stars from the top of the dune without any light pollution at all. Odyssey World did an excellent job in organising everything. I can thoroughly recommend them.

We had the most amazing time. The Danna hotel was truly brilliant the staf were helpful and made us all feel well looked after. The wedding day itself was perfect, everything I asked for and more. We were at the bar every night and the hotel had a live band playing. On the night of our wedding the band surprised us and sang which was so nice of them. Nick and I would really like to thank you for a excellent job. The honeymoon also ran so smoothy it was a life time experience, one we will treasure forever.

Borneo February 2013
I just thought I would write and tell you how much we enjoyed our recent holiday in Borneo. You put together a fantastic itinerary which went like clockwork. Your local agents always arrived absolutely on time for pick-ups and were a delight to deal with. They dealt impeccably with changes to the itinerary caused by David’s illness.
I would like to give a special mention for our guide at Abai who was Raimie. His ability to spot wildlife, enthusiasm and courteousness were commendable and he certainly helped to make our holiday really special. The boatman who came with us for the evening trip on the river also went beyond the call of duty. A person unconnected to us dropped their sunglasses in the river when we were near the river bank. The boatman dropped over the side and felt around on the river bed with his feet until he found the glasses. Now that is service!
Re the Shangri La Rasa Ria – the standards of service exceeded any hotel I have been anywhere in the world and we loved our time there. However, as a slight note of caution, the prices there are very high (eg a small beer £5) and I would recommend a couple staying there to put by at least £75 per day. However, as costs up to then were much lower than we hade expected it all balanced out over the whole holiday.
Thanks for working with us on refining the itinerary. We look forward to holidaying with you again in the future.

“Everything worked out perfectly (including the extra weight) and it was a fantastic holiday, a special mention for the guides in Borneo, they did a really brilliant professional job and really made the trip extra special. I got a photo of an wild elephant, that I was less than 10 meters away from, what a great experience! and I have many stories and memories of the trip”

Arabian Adventure Jordan – November 2013
Truth be told, almost every moment was a memorable moment. It’s difficult to choose one. Jerash in Jordan was a surprise. More Roman ruins than I saw in Italy. Petra Kitchen was a lot of fun and now I can prepare what I learned and feel like I’m back in Jordan. Dinner at Fauzi Azar Inn – best meals we had on the tour and we had really good meals. Singing and dancing at Bedouin Camp was great too! I really can’t choose one, sorry.
Borneo Wildlife & Beaches – November 2013
Highlights in particular were guide Ayrul on our stay at Abai. Both he and the staff at the lodge were very welcoming and knowledgeable, it was obvious they were keen we had the best possible experience and sought out wildlife for us, including Orangu-tangs, Wild boar, Buffy Fish Owl and Kingfishers. Danum valley, guide Beatrice went out of her way to find a Rhinoceros Hornbill once she knew it was top of our list of birds to see. Lankayan island resort – the staff were very hospitable (even though we weren’t divers) and went out of their way to provide a tailored buffet when it transpired we were the only two guests left on the Island on our last day.
Tanzania Safari – December 2013
Oliver’s camp – Simply stunning and a must for any die-hard safari goers/birders or people wanting a unique close to nature Africa experience. The mgt and team here are first rate and the best we had on our trip. Beyond brilliant. Ngorongoro Crate Lodge. We stayed on the South camp, Possibly the most special place I have ever stayed in the world. Completely unique in look, feel, set up and location. If I had to recommend anyone just one place to stay in the world for one night it would be here!

We always knew we wanted to go to Namibia for our honeymoon but this trip exceeded our expectations in every aspect.

Thanks

A very special Borneo honeymoon – January 2018
Just back from our honeymoon to Borneo. Every new day exceeded our expectations and was even better than the one before! We’re making a photo book for this remarkable trip of a lifetime. Thanks again Felicia to you and your team for setting up and making our honeymoon so very special.

Just to say from me it was an amazing trip of a lifetime, stress less from beginning to end … In the end the trip was a perfect balance of travelling, exploring by ourselves, lounging about and guided trips to Halong Bay, Hai Van Pass and Ankor Wat”

Malaysia Wedding & Honeymoon, January 2012
We had the most amazing time. The Danna hotel was truly brilliant the staf were helpful and made us all feel well looked after. The wedding day itself was perfect, everything I asked for and more. We were at the bar every night and the hotel had a live band playing. On the night of our wedding the band surprised us and sang which was so nice of them. Nick and I would really like to thank you for a excellent job. The honeymoon also ran so smoothy it was a life time experience, one we will treasure forever.
We are very grateful for all your hard work you truly made the day perfect.

Petra was truly amazing!!! Magdi our guide was so informative and knowledgeable – a truly educating experience in his presence! A really amazing holiday! Magdi made it such an informative and enlightening visit! Odyssey’s local agent made everything so easy from disembarking the plane at Amman to leaving and going through customs at the end.

Jordan & Israel, November 2013
Both guides were very knowledgeable and went beyond the call of duty. Without them I do not think we would have seen as much as we did. For the group I took, Jordan and Israel were an eye opener. They took notes as though they were going to produce a documentary.

Borneo, December 2013
