See Kenya’s safari greatest hits in 11 days, stitched together as a proper cross-country wildlife story: elephant herds beneath Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, a night at the famous Ark overlooking its floodlit waterhole in the Aberdares, Samburu’s rarer northern species along the Ewaso Nyiro, rhino country at Lake Nakuru, then three nights in the Maasai Mara for classic big-game drama and wide-open plains.
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and meet your Odyssey World representative and guide for a short safari briefing. Drive straight to Amboseli, arriving at Ol Tukai Lodge for a late lunch. After time for a siesta or a swim, head out for an afternoon game drive, with Kilimanjaro often framing the scene. Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives, with an early start recommended for the best wildlife activity and the clearest chance of Kilimanjaro views. Return to the lodge between drives to relax, then head out again as the day cools. Overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge.
Day 3: Amboseli to Aberdare National Park
After an early breakfast, travel north towards Mount Kenya, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site regarded as sacred by the Kikuyu people. Arrive at Aberdare Country Club for lunch, then continue into Aberdare National Park to The Ark. Settle in with just a small overnight bag (main luggage stays at the base hotel), then spend the afternoon and evening watching the steady procession of wildlife at the floodlit waterhole and saltlick. Overnight at The Ark Lodge.
Day 4: Aberdare to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, drive to Samburu, arriving at Elephant Bedroom Camp in time for lunch. After a short briefing and check-in, head out for a late-afternoon game drive in a landscape of riverine forest and arid plains, known for elephants, big cats, and Samburu’s distinctive northern species. Return to camp for dinner, with views over the Ewaso Nyiro River from your private veranda. Overnight at Elephant Bedroom Camp.
Day 5: Samburu National Reserve
Choose a relaxed start or go early for peak activity, then spend the day on game drives looking for Samburu specials such as reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra and Beisa oryx. Return to camp to escape the heat, then head out again later for another drive. Overnight at Elephant Bedroom Camp.
Day 6: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early breakfast, travel south to the Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru National Park. After arriving and completing park formalities, continue to Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge for lunch. Later, head out for an afternoon game drive in a park known for rhinos, lions, and excellent birdlife, with the chance of spotting leopard. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Day 7: Lake Nakuru National Park
Spend the day in the park with morning and afternoon game drives. Between drives, return to the lodge for downtime and later enjoy sunset views over the lake before dinner. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Day 8: Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, drive to the Maasai Mara and arrive for lunch at Ilkeliani Camp. Settle in, then head out in the late afternoon as temperatures cool for your first game drive in the Mara. Return to camp for dinner and an evening reliving the day’s sightings. Overnight at Ilkeliani Camp.
Day 9: Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, drive across the Mara plains in search of the Big Five and other plains game, or choose from optional activities available in the reserve. After a mid-morning break and lunch, head out again for an afternoon drive. Ask your guide to visit the Mara River and the regular crossing routes. Overnight at Ilkeliani Camp.
Day 10: Maasai Mara National Reserve
A full day enjoying game viewing in the reserve. Overnight at Ilkeliani Camp.
Day 11: Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast, drive back to Nairobi with a stop beside the Rift Valley for photos. Enjoy lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant, then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
