Day 1: Windhoek

Upon your arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, you are met by a representative of the transfer service who will bring you to Windhoek. Check-in at your hotel and the remaining day is free for you to spend at leisure.

Dinner can be enjoyed in one of the many excellent restaurants in Windhoek (not included in package).

Bed and Breakfast in a Luxury Room at the Olive Grove Guesthouse (or similar).

Day 2: Windhoek to Kalahari Namibia

In the early morning, meet a representative who will give you a detailed itinerary and vouchers. Receive a rental car and depart from Windhoek in a southerly direction, driving via Rehoboth to the heart of the Kalahari Desert.

In the late afternoon, you could book a guided sundowner tour in the red dunes of the Kalahari Desert.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast in an Exclusive Dune Chalet at the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch (or similar).

Day 3: Kalahari Desert to Sossusvlei

This morning you will make your way to the Le Mirage Resort & Spa, situated in the heart of the Namib Desert. The afternoon can be spent at leisure around the pool, or you could book a pampering session at the onsite spa (not included in package). In the evening, a special surprise awaits.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast in an Oasis Room at the Le Mirage Resort & Spa (or similar).

Day 4: Sossusvlei

You have the opportunity to visit the famous dunes at Sossusvlei and explore the unique Sesriem Canyon. This is best done in the early morning when temperatures are still cool.

The Sossusvlei is a wonderland, with towering dunes reaching up to 300 meters, surrounding a huge, dried-up pan. These dunes extend as far as the eye can see and their rich tints vary from pale apricot to vivid reds and oranges.

Day 4: Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Your journey continues through the Namib Naukluft National Park. En route you can stop at Solitaire, where you can enjoy some of their apple pie, which is famous in Namibia.

Continue to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, where you stay at the Strand Hotel Swakopmund.

In the afternoon you could take a stroll on the beach or you could explore Swakopmund on foot. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee in one of the numerous coffee shops and enjoy dinner at one of the excellent restaurants.

Day 6: Swakopmund

This day is free for you to spend at leisure. There are numerous optional activities offered in and around Swakopmund and Walvis Bay which you could participate in: Scenic Flight, 1-hour Flight, Skeleton Coast Flight, Cape Cross Scenic Flight, Boat Cruise in Walvis Bay, Catamaran Cruise in Walvis Bay, Living Desert Tour, Quad Biking, Sandboarding, Scenic Desert Fatbike Tour, Old City Swakopmund Fatbike Tour, Sandwich Harbour.

Day 7: Swakopmund to Twyfelfontein

From the cool coastal air, you will turn to the inland heat of the Damaraland today. After your arrival at the lodge in the early afternoon, you will participate in an excursion to visit the Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain and Organ Pipes.

Day 8: Twyfelfontein

In the early morning, you depart on an excursion in search of the famous desert elephants of the Damaraland. Around lunch time you will return to the lodge where the remaining day can be spent at leisure.

Day 9: Twyfelfontein to Ongava Private Game Reserve

Driving via the small towns of Khorixas and Outjo, you venture to the southern border of the Etosha National Park. After checking in at the Etosha Safari Camp, you have the opportunity to do your first self-guided game drive in the Etosha National Park.

Day 10: Ongava Private Game Reserve to Etosha National Park

Spend the day exploring the Etosha National Park. In the late afternoon, depart from the Etosha National Park through the Von Lindequist Gate, which is situated only a few kilometres from Namutoni. Proceed to the beautiful Mushara Outpost.

Day 11: Etosha National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, depart from the Etosha National Park through the Von Lindequist Gate, which is situated only a few kilometres from Namutoni. Proceed to the beautiful Mushara Outpost.

Day 12: Etosha National Park to Okonjima Nature Reserve

Via Tsumeb, Otavi and Otjiwarongo, you travel to the Okonjima Nature Reserve.

The history of Tsumeb is depicted in the Tsumeb Museum, where a comprehensive collection of rare minerals can be viewed. Otavi is a small town which lies beneath the soaring Otavi Mountains. The Khorab Memorial, about 3 kilometres from Otavi, dates back to the First World War. Otjiwarongo is well known for its cattle farms, including Otjiwarongo Crocodile Ranch where crocodiles are bred.

Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 13: Okonjima Nature Reserve

There are numerous optional activities offered at the Okonjima Nature Reserve which you can participate in.

The Okonjima Nature Reserve is recognized as one of the premier places to stay to witness carnivores and other endangered species like the aardvark, pangolin and brown hyena in the wild and to be educated about conservation.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast in a Bush Chalet at the Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp (or similar).

Day 14: Departure

After a leisurely breakfast, depart from the Okonjima Nature Reserve and head back to Windhoek, via Okahandja. After arriving in Windhoek, head to the car rental company to deliver your vehicle. Afterwards, you will receive a transfer to the Hosea Kutako International Airport, in time for your departure flight. Please take note that you have to be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to your departure.

Optional excursions:

Day 1: Kalahari Desert to Fish River Canyon

Your journey continues on, via Mariental and Keetmanshoop to the far south, to the Fish River Canyon. Be prepared for some endless, sweeping landscapes en-route to the Fish River Lodge, where you are spending 2 nights.

Also known as the “gateway to the south”, Mariental is an important agricultural center. It has the largest number of Karakul sheep in the country and the ostrich farm north of the town was the first operation of its type.

After arriving at the Fish River Lodge, you can spend the afternoon relaxing.

Day 2: Fish River Canyon

Today you have the opportunity to explore the Fish River Canyon.

The Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world. Set in a harsh, stony plain scantily covered with drought resistant succulents and the distinctive quiver tree, the canyon represents a spectacular natural phenomenon. It took hundreds of millions of years to evolve into its current shape. Baboons, hyrax, ground squirrels and klipspringer are commonly sighted in the canyon.

Day 3: Fish River Canyon to Namibrand Nature Reserve

After enjoying an early breakfast you make your way toward the Namib Desert. Travel via Aus and Helmeringhausen to the spectacular Namib Rand Nature Reserve.

An intriguing feature of the southern Namib are the legendary desert horses, which can be seen when travelling between Lüderitz and Aus. There are a number of theories regarding their origin; one of these and the most likely, is that they are descendants of horses left behind when the German “Schutztruppe” abandoned Aus during the South West African Campaign in 1915.

Day 4: Namibrand Nature Reserve

Enjoy this day at the Wolwedans Dunes Camp and participate in the activities included in your package.
