Visit the popular destinations of Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang and Pangkor Laut, while experiencing the field to fork culinary richness of Western Malaysia's culture and cuisine.
Day 1: Departure
Fly from London Heathrow (or your chosen home airport) on an overnight flight to Kuala Lumpur.
Day 2: Arrive Malaysia
Arrive Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the 5* Majestic Kuala Lumpur Hotel. The Majestic is a beautiful colonial treasure in the historic district, offering each guest excellent personalised service and comfort, ensuring an all-round luxurious experience. After check-in and refreshing, we'll meet for welcome cocktails and a view of the sparkling Kuala Lumpur skyline
Day 3 : Kuala Lumpur (B)
Our tour will commence with packed day of the sights, sounds and smells of this bustling city full of contrasts, including Chef Norman's guide of the city markets and how various ingredients form the core of Malaysian cooking.
We'll continue exploring the ecclectic melting pot that is Kuala Lumpur, learn more about its fascinating history and modern twists. Enjoy a walking tour of the Historical Mile followed by Colonial Afternoon Tea is the iconic Orchid Conservatory of the Majestic Hotel.
In the evening, you will be taken on a food adventure of the city’s bright lights, night markets, Malaysian restaurants, and best hawker stalls along the famous Jalan Alor. Perhaps get yourself a relaxing foot massage in one of the many cheap and cheerful massage shops dotted around Bukit Bintang.
Day 4: Batu Caves and Pangkor Laut (B,D)
Depart the city after breakfast, making a short stop at the recently refurbished Batu Caves. Continue to the tropical island of Pankor Laut.
Enjoy the free time to explore the island and the delightful relaxation areas of the stunning Pangkor Laut Resort. This is exotic Malaysia at it’s best!
This evening is the time to don your ‘smart tropical’ wear and join the culinary team at Pangkor Laut for an interactive gastronomic feast of the senses.
Day 5: Pangkor Laut (B)
Enjoy a day at leisure in this beautiful resort. You’ll have access to the resort’s fantastic PURE programme, offering a range of active or relaxing activities including jungle trekking, kayaking, sea fishing, snorkelling, yoga and a full range of spa treatments (chargeable locally).
Day 6 : Kuala Kangsar & Penang (B,D)
After breakfast, bid farewell to the island as we depart Pangkor and continue northwards to Penang. We’ll take a short break in the royal town of Perak, Kuala Kangsar. Arriving in Penang, relax into your next indulgent hotel, the E&O Georgetown. This evening, we'll head out to meet one of Norman's Chef friends, running an amazing family Peranakan restaurant in the heart of Georgetown.
Day 7: Rural Penang (B,L)
Today, enjoy a grand tour of Chef Norman’s homeland of Penang. He will take us on an exciting journey off-the-beaten track into the rural areas of his upbringing, taking in rice paddy fields to meet his ‘farmer’ cousins, and see farms, village markets and hawker stalls – a literal ‘field to fork’ discovery of the food scene in Malaysia. Enjoy lunch at an authentic local seafood grill.

Day 8: Norman Musa Cookery Class at Tropical Spice Gardens (B,L)
After all the tastes and smells of the last few days, you’ll surely be eager to step into the kitchen and test all your new-found knowledge to delicious effect. Certainly one of the highlights of the week, this is where you really get to put your new skills to work as you prepare your own lunch under the expert tuition of Chef Norman.
Day 9: Tour of Penang Hill (B,L)
On your final day in Penang, Chef Norman Musa will take you up to the Penang Hill for the breath taking view of Penang Island and mainland Malaysia. The lunch options at this popular tourist attraction will show you how serious Malaysians are about their food, even when casual!
Day 10: Penang to Malacca (B,L)
A short flight back to the mainland and a drive south to the historic town of Malacca - the true home of Nyonya cuisine. Checking into the elegant Majestic Malacca Hotel, relax and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Early evening, we'll take a stroll around the city, awaking your senses further!
Day 11: Malacca Tour & Farewell Dinner (B,D)
Today you will enjoy a day exploring the city further on foot, accompanied by Chef Norman and a local guide. Reflect on your week as we cruise down the Malacca River and take some time in the afternoon to enjoy the city, or some shopping at leisure. In the evening, we’ll head out for our final Farewell Dinner with Chef Norman.
Day 12: Departure (B)
Check out of the hotel and transfer overland to Kuala Lumpur airport for your return flight to the UK. Or, extend your stay, visiting Borneo, or any of the other fascinating destinations in the region.
