A wonderful 15 day tour of Thailand, a country with so many fascinating aspects to explore you may not know where to begin - but luckily we do! Starting in bustling & busy Bangkok, enjoy a tour of the cities highlights including the iconic Grand Palace and the fascinating and nostalgic River Kwai.
This tour will take you to the beautiful and rugged Khao Sok National Park, where you will get chance to experience Thailand's first luxury jungle camp. Fascinating and exciting soft adventure programs are waiting to be explored including canoeing, trekking, swimming and just plain relaxing in the lovely surroundings of the National Park. Take a local long-tail boat to the little known and less visited Cheow-Lan-Lake and enjoy an elephant ride through the forest as you learn about the Elephant Hills conservation project before settling into your luxury safari tent.
After your time here, move onwards to Krabi and a beautiful boutique Resort, followed by the stunning and exclusive Koh Phi Phi, a perfect beach getaway to relax, recharge and reinvigorate.
This tour is with your own English-speaking driver and guide. The knowledgeable local guides will accompany you for the duration of your trip. This holiday can be tailor-made to create a unique holiday for your individual requirements by travel experts with intimate knowledge of the destination.
Day 1: Departure
Fly from London Heathrow on an overnight flight to Bangkok.
Day 2: Arrive Bangkok
Arrive Bangkok. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel.
This evening enjoy dinner on the legendary "River of Kings", the Chao Phraya River. Dine aboard the Tahsaneeya Nava, a unique and beautiful antique teakwood rice barge, and cruise along the historic Chao Phraya River.
Day 3: Bangkok City Tour (B)
Today you will be collected from your hotel for a Bangkok City Grand Palace Tour.
The Grand Palace is one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Siamese court. Previously it was the residence of the Kings of Bangkok. Here you will see palaces which were used for many different Royal occasions and visit Wat Phra Keo, the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 4: River Kwai Tour (B,L)
Fascinating, nostalgic and memorable sums up this day tour to Kanchanaburi province. The famous bridge and the beginning of the 'Death Railway' is a poignant reminder of the thousands of POW’s and forced labourers who lost their lives in the Second World War during the construction works of the railway.
This evening is at leisure.
Day 5: Krabi (B)
Today you will be transferred to the airport for the short flight down to Krabi.
Upon arrival, your private driver will transfer you to your chosen hotel in Ao Nang, approximately 40 minutes away. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 6: Khao Sok National Park, Elephant Hills Tented Camp (B,L,D)
Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Khao Sok, en-route glimpses of tropical rural life can be seen. On arrival at Thailand’s first luxury safari camp, enjoy a canoe trip down the Sok River, passing limestone mountains and cliffs covered with exotic tropical vegetation. Sometimes Hornbills can be seen flying high overhead or reptiles basking in the sun on the riverbanks. Leave your canoe for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to really experience the Asian elephant at the elephant sanctuary. You have the chance to interact with these amazing creatures, learn the secrets of their mahouts (elephant caretakers) and prepare and feed them one of their daily meals. Watch them bath before you scrub and wash them clean. After all this activity close to nature, return to your luxury safari tent for a hot shower and dinner.
Day 7: Cheow Larn Lake (B,L,D)
Wake up to the sound of nature all around. After breakfast, set off on a local long-tail boat trip to explore the Cheow Lan Lake. Surrounded by limestone mountains and cliffs covered by tropical rainforest, the scenery has been compared to that of Guilin in China or Halong Bay in Vietnam. Enjoy and swim and trek to explore some of the caves (weather dependant).
Day 8: Khao Sok National Park - Krabi (B,L)
After a good night’s rest and a wholesome breakfast, set off on foot to explore the jungle, a wonderful opportunity to witness the ecology of the rainforest. See a great variety of exotic plants, birds such as the Hornbill live high up above, Gibbons can often be heard calling to their mates, or a Macaque or Leaf Monkey may be heard swinging through the branches.
Weather permitting lunch will be served in the rainforest cooked in bamboo, a tradition of jungle explorers for centuries past. Return to Elephant Hills and transfer to your beach resort in Krabi. This evening is at leisure.
Days 9 - 10: At leisure (B)
These days are at leisure to relax and enjoy the resort and the region.
Day 11: Krabi - Koh Phi Phi (B)
Transfer to the ferry port and cross over to the stunning island of Koh Phi Phi for your final beach break at the islands only luxury resort to relax, recharge and reinvigorate.
Days 12 – 14: Koh Phi Phi (B)
Days at leisure. The Phi Phi islands form part of a protected marine park and are famous for their sandy palm fringed beaches and stunning monoliths rising from the Andaman Sea. The smaller Phi Phi Lei was the setting for the hit movie 'The Beach'.
Day 15: Departure (B)
Today you are collected by speedboat and transferred back to the mainland (Phuket side) for your return flight back to the UK, via Bangkok.
