This wonderful 10-day itinerary to Burma features the highlights of this amazing country. A fully private tour, you will visit Yangon, the temples of Bagan, beautiful Inle Lake and Mandalay. Burma is a jewel in South-East Asia, being relatively untouched by tourism has left it an enchanting place to visit. We can also offer an optional beach extension to this itinerary for 3 nights.

This wonderful 10-day itinerary to Burma features the highlights of this amazing country. A fully private tour, you will visit Yangon, the temples of Bagan, beautiful Inle Lake and Mandalay. Day 1: Departure

Depart the UK for the overnight flight to Yangon (change en-route).

Day 2: Arrive Burma

On arrival into Yangon you will have a private’ meet and greet’ and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Yangon (B)

A wonderful full day, private orientation tour of Yangon by car and foot. Highlights include the old railway station and former Minister's office, St Mary's Cathedral, Botataung Pagoda, Kandawgyi Park with the glittering Karaweik barge and more. Overnight Yangon.

Day 4: Bagan (B)

Transfer to the airport for your short flight to Mandalay for Bagan. Once the capital of Burma, the temples of Bagan are both amazing and enchanting. The remainder of your day will be dedicated to exploring this stunning city. Overnight Bagan.

Day 5: Bagan (B)

Why not start today with an optional early morning balloon flight over Bagan (price on request) an exquisite 'must do' whilst here. This morning, visit a local village, an excellent way to see typical Burmese life, followed by a stop at the markets. Later today visit some of the lesser visited temples by horse cart. Overnight Bagan.

Day 6: Mandalay (B)

Return to Mandalay - capital of the third Myanmar Empire. Sightseeing today will include the Mahamuni Pagoda, Shwenandaw Kyaung (Golden Palace Monastry), Kuthodaw Pagoda and Amarapura where you will see the iconic U Bien's bridge spanning the Taungthaman Lake. Overnight Mandalay.

Day 7: Ava, Sagaing & Amarapura (B)

Depart Mandalay this morning to explore the former capitals of Burma: Ava, Sagaing and Amarapura. Crossing the Irrawaddy River to Sayaing where you will see 600 white painted pagodas and monasteries where over 3,000 monks reside. Stop at the U Bein Bridge for some stunning sunset photos. Overnight Mandalay.

Day 8: Inle Lake (B)

Fly to Heho this morning. Stop en-route at the Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery featuring beautiful carvings, then continue to the local markets. Board a private motorboat to head out to Inle Lake, observe the leg-rowing fishermen and the famous Daw Oo Pagoda. Overnight Inle Lake.

Day 9: Inle Lake to Yangon (B)

Explore more of Inle Lake today - visit the local markets and explore on foot the village of In Dein offering fantastic views of the lake. This afternoon you may visit Nampan Village to see local cigar (cheroot) making, then continue to Inn Paw Khone, a small village that specialises in silk weaving. Overnight Inle Lake.

Day 10: Departure or Burma Beach extension (B)

Depart Inle Lake and fly back to Yangon for your final night. The afternoon is at leisure (B)

Day 11: Return to UK

Return to the UK today or why not extend your stay with a 3-night beach stay - ask us for the options available.

beaches are closed in Burma during low season, but we can arrange a stay on one of Thailand's beaches for travel during this period. Ask us for more details. – change this to … PLEASE NOTE: the beaches in Burma are closed during the monsoon season (May – September). We can offer one of Thailand’s beaches as an alternative during this period – please ask us for recommendations.
