This 16-day tailor-made Borneo honeymoon includes the dramatic scenery and wildlife of the Danum Valley; riverbank Proboscis Monkeys and orangutans to spot as you cruise down the Kinabatangan River and a visit to the wonderful Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre for orphaned orangutans. Add on a luxurious stay on beauitful Gaya Island and you have all the ingredients for the perfet honeymoon.

Day 1: Departure

Depart UK on an overnight flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Day 2: Arrive Borneo

Connect with your onward flight to Sandakan where you will be met and transfer to the Four Points by Sheraton.

Day 3: Labuk Bay (B)

Enjoy a full day at the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. This is an unique opportunity to get close to these normally shy creatures.

Day 4: Sandakan – Sepilok (B,L)

Transfer to the Sepilok Nature Resort and immerse yourself in Borneo's wildlife. Visit the Sepilok Discovery Centre during the day and in the evening keep your eyes peeled for fascinating primates like the Slow Loris and Horsfields Tarsier, or catch a glimpse of the tiny Mouse Deer, the stunning Clouded Leopard or the shy Banded Linsang.

Day 5: Sepilok (B)

A day to explore Sepilok. The Sepilok Sanctuary covers 4,000 hectares and is one of only four Orangutan sanctuaries in the world. You can visit at feeding times only and witness these magnificent creatures close up. The feeding platform is just 10 minutes walk from the centre. Other animals you may spot en route include Long-Tail Macaques, ground squirrel, butterflies and tree lizards.

Day 6: Sepilok - Abai (B,L,D)

After breakfast board your boat for a cruise along the Kinabatangan River to Abai Jungle Lodge. After lunch you are free to relax or explore the surrounding area on the nature boardwalks.

Day 7: Pitas Lake – Abai Village - Kinabatangan (B,L,D)

An early start this morning to wildlife spot as the sun rises over the nearby Pitas Lake. Participate in a local tree planting project and have lunch with a local family. Late afternoon cruise to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, a perfect opportunity to spot Proboscis Monkeys, the Hornbill as well as Pygmy Elephants and if you're lucky, wild Orangutans.

Day 8: Sukau – Danum Valley (B,L,D)

Transfer overland to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge in time for lunch. The lodge was designed by naturalists, built with local materials and is located in a magnificent setting beside the Danum River in Sabah's largest protected lowland forest. This evening take a night drive in an open-air Jeep in search of nocturnal animals.

Day 9: Danum Valley (B,L,D)

Enjoy a guided group walk with experienced guides through undisturbed riverine and lowland dipterocarp forest. This is a wonderful day to photograph wildlife and experience unlimited bird watching. Trek to the Kadazanduun burial site, Coffin Cliff then to a view point for a bird's eye view of the Danum Valley. Relax before an afternoon trek along the Segma and East Trails in search of wildlife.

Day 10: Danum Valley – Kota Kinabalu – Gaya Island (B,L,D)

Head back to Lahad Datu for a flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival you will be met and transferred by speed boat to Gaya Island and the beautiful Bunga Raya Island Resort. Enjoy a complimentary honeymoon welcome drink on arrival before checking in to your Lagoon Villa. (Should you wish to upgrade to a luxury Ocean Villa please let us know).

You will receive a Romantic themed room set-up for your first night including a bouquet of flowers. During your stay you will also receive a bottle of sparkling wine, two honeymoon dinners, two 60 minute massages, 30 minute foot reflexology and 30 minute facial.

Day 11 -14: Gaya Island (B)

Enoy four blissful days to make use of the excellent facilities at the hotel and around the island. Dine at the laid back ocean front Pantai Grill or The Koi, a contemporary European designed Bistro. Take a brief trip over a suspended bridge to the Solace Spa or kayak through emerald waters, explore awe-inspiring mangroves or trek through thick jungles bursting with butterflies, birds, cicadas and endless flora.

Day 15: Departure (B)

At leisure until check out for your boat transfer back to Sutera Harbour Marina and onto the airport for your return flight back to the UK.

Day 16: Arrive UK
