Topas Eco Lodge ***

This wonderful Eco Lodge in the remote regions of Sapa is made up of 25 individual bungalows all en-suite with private balconies. It offers stunning views of the surrounding hill tribe region with its wealth of rice paddies and steep terraces. Approximately 20km from Sapa town, Topas Eco Lodge uses a wealth of eco-friendly practices, including solar energy panels for heating the bungalows water and for electricity and a water treatment system beneath each bungalow.

The Lodge employs mainly local people as trades-people and hospitality staff and works very closely with the local Red Dzao tribes women, currently setting up a small retail unit from which they can sell their handcrafted artefacts safely. The Lodge can organise half and full day treks to a variety of local tribe villages and the nearby waterfall is a must for the more experienced trekkers.
