Day 1: Departure

Depart London Heathrow on direct flight with Thai Airways to Bangkok.

Land Bangkok. Upon arrival, your private transfer will collect you and transfer you to the Shangri-La hotel. This evening enjoy an intimate, romantic dinner on the legendary "River of Kings", the Chao Phraya River. Dine aboard the Manohra, a 50-year-old beautiful antique teakwood rice barge that has been completely re-built and restored for dining and cocktail cruising. Seating is set for 40 guests only to ensure an intimate experience. Cruise along the historic Chao Phraya River, which flows between the ancient and modern capitals of the kingdom and is the focal point for festivals and royal ceremonies.

Day 4: Damnoen Saduak Floating markets (B/-/-)

This morning you will be collected early for your floating markets tour to see the colourfully clad merchants paddling along the congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruit and vegetables. Expect plenty of chatter and activity and don’t forget to barter – all part of the fun!

Return to Bangkok with the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Chiang Mai (B/-/-)

Return private transfer to the airport for the flight up to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, your private transfer will collect you and transfer you to the Chedi. Strategically located on the banks of the renowned Mai Ping River in central Chiang Mai, each of the resort's 84 exquisite rooms and suites boast private courtyards, open balconies and breathtaking views.

Day 7: Hill tribes and elephants day tour (B/L/-)

Depart Chiang Mai to the sub-district of Mae Waang, approximately 60 km south of the city. The first stop is at Mae Sapok waterfall, which is an easy two-kilometre walk from the road. Visit the nearby Karen village before enjoying lunch in a local restaurant.

Another short drive brings you to Mae Waang River. Enjoy a one-hour rafting trip on bamboo rafts. The adventure continues with a trek through the forest on elephant back and then on foot through the jungle back to the main road for your transfer back to your hotel in Chiang Mai. The evening is at leisure.

Day 8: Khao Lak (B/-/-)

Return private transfer to the airport for the flight down to Phuket. Upon arrival, your private transfer will collect you and transfer you to the Sarojin, located roughly 1 hours drive north in the idyllic beach destination of Khao Lak. Designed in a contemporary Asian style, the spiritual heart of the resort is an age old giant Ficus tree. The Sarojin offers 56 guest residences nestled within the 10-acre grounds.
