Laban Rata Guesthouse, Mt. Kinabalu

Laban Rata is the accommodation near the peak of Mt. Kinabalu where you'll stay when climbing Mt. Kinabalu. Located at 3,000 metres Laban Rata Resthouse can accommodate 54 guests. Together, the Laban Rata compound constitutes the only accommodation on Mt. Kinabalu and is part of Kinabalu National Park.

As part of the compound, Laban Rata Rest House is the main facility, featuring heated accommodation and the only restaurant. It is however very basic and accommodation is in dormitory style bunk beds.

Mount Kinabalu is the major attraction in Sabah: the highest mountain in South East Asia towers over the 477 sq miles of Kinabalu National Park. Standing at 13,455ft, the mountain can be difficult to climb (subject to weather conditions and fitness levels) it however requires no special skills or equipment, but lots of stamina!
