The tour takes in some fun trekking to see the wildlife of the Tabin Wildlife Reserve, followed by some further wildlife spotting boat cruises along the Kinabatangan River – you have the chance to see the cheeky proboscis monkeys, the hornbill, monitor lizards, pygmy elephants and of course the loveable orang-utan.

From here you will visit the Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Sanctuary to witness the feeding of the orang-utans and learn about the important job the Sanctuary is doing in helping to rehabilitate the animals, before heading across to the relaxed white sand beaches of Lankayan Island for some relaxing. Day 1: Depart the UK

Depart the UK with Malaysia Airlines and fly non-stop overnight to Kuala Lumpur.

Day 2: Arrive Borneo

On arrival, change of aircraft and fly onwards to Kota Kinabalu. Overnight in a beachfront hotel. At leisure. (B/-/-)

Day 3: Kota Kinabalu at leisure

Full day at leisure to relax or explore Kota Kinabalu city. (B/-/-)

Day 4: Tabin Wildlife Reserve

You will be collected this morning from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your short flight to Lahad Datu. Here you will be collected and transferred to Tabin Wildlife Reserve. Check-into your lodge and this afternoon enjoy a visit to the Lipad mud volcano. Here you can search for the local wildlife, some of which come here to use the volcano as a salt lick, and you could also enjoy the benefits of a mud mask! in the evening, enjoy a night safari to search for the nocturnal wildlife. Day 5: Tabin Wildlife Reserve

This morning you can enjoy a dawn drive to look for early morning wildlife. Alternatively, you cna take part in the Tabin bird walk to search for the indigenous birdlife. Enoy a morning trek to the Lipad waterfall spotting animals along the way followed by a relaxing Tabin foot soak to ease those tired muscles! Day 6: Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge

This morning you will be up and about early for the transfer to the Kinabatangan River region. After checking into your river lodge, take an afternoon river cruise, an excellent opportunity to spot wildlife. Overnight at the lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 7: Abai Jungle Lodge

Enjoy a river trip to the Pitas Ox Bow Lake observing wildlife en-route. Transfer onwards to the Menanggul River by boat and your next lodge accommodation on the river. Here you will have the opportunity to take part in the tree planting project followed by lunch prepared by the local villagers. Overnight at the lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary

This morning you are free to view more birds and wildlife at the nature boardwalk before transferring across by boat to Sepilok. Here you have time at leisure to witness the feeding of the orang-utans at Sepilok Orang-Utan Sanctuary. Overnight. (B/L/D)

Day 9: Lankayan Island Resort

After breakfast, you will be met and transferred across to Lankayan Island for your 3 night snorkelling package. This is an idyllic island in the Sulu Sea along the 'Sea Turtle Corridor'. Here you can enjoy snorkelling from the white sand beach and will be able to see the vast array of marine wildlife in this Marine National Park which at the right time of year can often include hatchling turtles. Days 10-11: Lankayan Island Resort

Days at leisure to enjoy the Island - you can enjoy snorkelling and diving here and there may also be the chance to see turtles nesting. (B/L/D)

Day 12: Kota Kinabalu

Today you will transfer back to the mainland and Sandakan airport and fly across to Kota Kinabalu. Transfer on arrival to the Rasa Ria Resort. Overnight.(B/-/-)

Day 13: Kiulu River Rafting

Today you will enjoy a full day rafting on the Kiulu River, an easy grade 1-2 rafting trip for all the family.

The trip includes a picnic lunch. Return to your hotel at the end of the day. (B/L/-)

Day 14: Departure

Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu airport for the flight back to the UK via Kuala Lumpur. (B/-/-)
