This 13 night/14 day trip takes in the lesser known interior regions of Bali using some of the pioneering Eco Lodges on offer in the region. You visit Bali's cultural and artistic centre in Ubud. Then head further north to the cool mountain slopes of spectacular Mt Batakuru and a fabulous Eco Lodge, a true rural retreat and a haven for nature lovers. Relax here for a few days before continuing north to the Puri Lumbung Cottages. Finally it's onwards to the Bali Barat National Park and your Resort on Menjangan Island for some time to relax on the remote beaches of this picturesque region.

 

Best time to go: December and January are the wettest months to travel to Indonesia with the UK Summer offering the best weather.

Day 1: Departure

Depart the UK and fly non-stop overnight to Singapore.

Day 2: Land Denpasar, Bali (-/-/D)

On arrival, change of aircraft and fly onwards to Denpasar, Bali. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Ubud and your accommodation. Dinner and overnight

Days 3-4: Ubud at leisure (B/-/-)

Days at leisure to explore the artist region on Ubud, a haven for all that is cultural in Bali.

Day 5: Mt Batukaru (B/-/-)

This morning, you will be collected and driven to the foothills of Mt Batukaru and the Eco Lodge. En-route you will stop for a visit at the Bukit Sari Temple and Monkey Forest to see the local inhabitants. Be careful, these are curious fellows with an eye for a shiny object so keep your cameras and glasses well out of reach!

Days 6-7: Mt Batukaru at leisure (B/-/-)

Days at leisure to explore the region and enjoy the various activities on offer.

Day 8: Puri Lumbung Cottages (B/-/-)

Today, you will drive from the Eco Lodge north to the Puri Lumbung Cottages. En-route, stop to visit the impressive Ulun Danu Temple on Lake Bratan.

Day 9: Day at leisure (B/-/-)

Full day at leisure.

Day 10: Bali Barat National Park (B/-/-)

Today enjoy a visit to the GitGit Waterfalls for a dip in the cool mountain waters before driving onwards to the northern city of Singaraja for a brief visit. Then head along the northern coast road to the Bali Barat National Park and the Menjangan Resort for your final 5 nights on the beach.

Days 11-14: Days at leisure to relax and explore Bali Barat National Park.(B/-/-)

Day 15: Departure (B/-/-)

Transfer back Denpasar airport for the flight back to the UK via Singapore.
