Sibuya (B)

Sibuya, a malaria free nature reserve which lies on the banks of the Kariega River in the Eastern Cape, is the only South African game reserve accessed by river. Guests enjoy a leisurely half-hour river cruise from the ocean mouth to camp and the game viewing begins as you step aboard.

Both Forest Camp and River Camp offer luxurious and romantic, en-suite tented accommodation, with private decks and views over the river or thick bush. Forest Camp was renovated in 2008 and has eight tents and a large entertainment area which includes a lounge, bar and dining area, two fireplaces, hanging lanterns and an outdoor boma for dinners under the stars. River Camp was rebuilt in 2009 and is geared towards families or sole use groups. River Camp has four tented rooms plus an entertainment tent for children. Both camps are nestled in riverine forest and have been constructed in an environmentally conscious manner.

Sibuya is truly a magical experience, where birds and antelope are your only visitors and tranquillity is the essence.
