Pakamisa (B)

Pakamisa, a 5* lodge and private game reserve owned by Isabella Stepski, is situated in the scenic mountainous country of northern KwaZulu-Natal. The Lodge, combining beautiful European architecture and gracious accommodation, is built on a high-lying plateau, and provides breathtaking panoramic views over the evergreen valley of the Pongola River.

Fine dining is an integral part of life at Pakamisa, and the El Prado Restaurant offers superb South African gastronomy in a stylish and relaxed atmosphere.

Guests are able to view game the traditional way in an open vehicle or on horseback with rangers explaining the South African flora and fauna in detail. For those keen on longer excursions of up to six hours, these can incorporate a sumptuous bush breakfast or picnic in an especially scenic spot in this malaria-free private reserve.

One of the magical aspects of Pakamisa is that guests are free to roam and explore the reserve as they desire, to take part in game drives or to enjoy a bush breakfast or picnic – activities in which the whole family can participate.

Pakamisa is 4 hours drive from Durban airport, 3 hours from Fugitive’s Drift and 2 hours drive from the battlefields near Phinda.

Includes:
  • The big five reserves nearby with a variety of wildlife, including antelope, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest.
  • Clay target shooting and archery
  • Hiking trails.
