African Relish

African Relish, a Recreational Cooking School offers gourmet travelers and recreational cooks a “Culinary Adventure” in the heart of the Karoo. Located in Prince Albert, an historical village nestling under the famous Swartberg Pass, part of the popular Route 62 and just 4 hours from Cape Town and 2 hours from George.

African Relish offers tailor made and interactive cooking courses, scheduled over a selection of 1,2,3 and 6 nights for beginners to advanced cooks, where passion for food is the essence. A versatile, purpose built culinary hall nestled in its own olive orchard surrounded by our fragrant garden and vegetable garden, is where resident chef, Vanie Padayachee explores our South African culinary culture teaching contemporary Karoo cuisine, for up to 14 student cooks.

Quaint rustic cottages renovated in African Relish style provide comfortable and spacious accommodation.

African Relish is the perfect choice for independent travelers, and groups. Extended culinary tours incorporating coastal and bush cuisine classes in situ are available on request.
