A 13 Day/12 Night Self Drive Safari Discover Namibia’s South!

This trip takes you through the spectacular sandscapes of the Kalahari Desert, to the majestic Fish River Canyon, into the historical town, Lüderitz nestled on the edge of the “Prohibited Diamond Area.” Admire the highest dunes in the world and enjoy the charm of Swakopmund, Namibia’s own romantic resort.


Days 1 & 2:

Transfer by comfortable charter flight to Namibia’s big game country: Etosha and its environs. Here, the diverse flora and fauna is experienced in a variety of activities, from game walks to game drives and visits to hides both on the property and the famous Etosha National Park. Full Board

Days 4 & 5

With an early start, you will journey by road towards the ephemeral river of the Hoanib Valley. This is a long nature transfer, giving a unique opportunity to see some of the most rugged areas within Namibia’s remote North West. Stay in Discoverer-styled tented camp close to the Hoanib River, a relaxed haven from which we explore this wild land on foot, or from the comfort of one of the safari vehicles. Full Board

Day 6

Departing early, travel east to Sesfontein to Damaraland Camp situated on the northern face of the Huab River valley and looking south toward the imposing Brandberg Mountain. Although wildlife is not concentrated, we are situated where the rare desert-adapted elephant roams, alongside gemsbok (Oryx), springbok, Ostrich and other hardy desert animals. Full Board

Day 7

Today you will visit Twyfelfontein where you will take a guided walk with local Damara guides to view the San petroglyphs – prehistoric rock etchings, strewn over the rock face. Full Board

After lunch continue travelling south via Uis en-route to Swakopmund. As we get closer to the coast there are lichen fields strewn over the gravel plains, one of the most fragile ecosystems on Earth. Overnight in Swakopmund. Full Board

Day 8 & 9

After an early breakfast, journey southwards to Walvis Bay Lagoon. Here in a protected bay, many flamingos, pelicans and other waterfowl amass. Opportunties to go sea kayaking to get closer to seals, dolphins and water birds. Full Board

Day 10

After breakfast transfer by road, including lunch overlooking the view of the plains nearby, to Windhoek and bid farewell to the adventure. Full Board
