Kenya Experience

A fascinating 9-day contrast between Lake Naivasha, Nakuru, Masai Mara to Lake Victoria. You will be staying in some of Kenya’s top Camps and Lodges that are firm Odyssey favourites. With plenty of time for relaxing as well as exploring national parks, champagne balloon rides, game drives, bird watching and much more, this trip is the perfect Kenya Experience.

Day 1

On arrival at Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International airport, you will be met by a representative who will take you to your chosen hotel in Nairobi for overnight.

Day 2

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax into ‘Africa’ time. Your guide will collect you around 0930 to take you to the local craft market followed by a road transfer down to Loldia House in the Rift Valley. A refreshing welcome drink will be served and Peter will introduce you to Loldia House. A delicious lunch will then be served under the giant old Fig Tree on the lawns at Loldia. After lunch there will be time to relax on the lawns overlooking the lake. Relax or enjoy activities on Loldia Farm (bird watching boat trip, horse riding, bird and walks). Sundowners and dinner hosted by Peter in the Loldia Dining room.

Day 3

Early morning wake up call at Loldia House. An early breakfast will be served overlooking Lake Naivasha. There is the option of taking a day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park to see the abundant bird life, the flamingoes and rhino, for which the park is so well known. A picnic lunch will be served to you under the yellow fever trees in the Park (park fees are to be paid direct). You will arrive back to Loldia after lunch in time to relax, before more afternoon activities. Sundowners and dinner hosted by Peter in the Loldia Dining room.

Day 4

Early morning wake up call this morning. You will have time for a boat ride or a bird walk before enjoying a delicious breakfast at Loldia. Early morning at leisure followed by lunch overlooking the Lake. Mid afternoon, transfer to the Loldia Airstrip for your direct flight to Masai Mara. You will be met at the Musiara Airstrip and taken on a game drive before going to your accommodation for the next 2 nights - Little Governors’ Camp. Relax before taking an afternoon game drive. Enjoy sundowners and dinner in the camp.

Day 5

Early morning Balloon Safari with a delicious Champagne breakfast served at the landing site. You will then enjoy a game drive on your way back to Little Governors’. Enjoy a nice refreshing drink at the bar or relax in your tent before going out on another afternoon game drive. Enjoy a sundowner around the campfire before a candlelight dinner is served.

Day 6-7

Road transfer to Musiara Airstrip early this morning around at 06.30hrs. Charter flight from Musiara Airstrip to Mfangano Airstrip arrives around 07.30. Arrive Mfangano Airstrip and transfer by boat along the picturesque lakeshore to Mfangano Island Camp in time for breakfast. Enjoy a delicious breakfast on the lakeshore.

Activities (fishing for Nile Perch, bird watching by boat around the island, visit to bird Island, relaxing by the swimming pool in camp, bird watching, visit the local fishing village and school) Enjoy lunch on the Lakeshore at Mfangano Island Camp then sundowners and dinner at Mfangano Island Camp. Relax in your room to the sound of the waves lapping the lakeshore.

Day 8

Take a boat trip this morning to ‘bird island’ or just relax and enjoy this magnificently peaceful setting.

Day 9

Breakfast and lunch are included today at Mfangano Island Camp. A 15-minute boat transfer over to the Mfangano Airstrip is followed by a 30-minute flight back to the Mara, in time to catch your afternoon flight back to Nairobi.
